As stated in a previous comment regarding the first nation people, I personally find this offensive and a sad commentary on our social attitudes in 2012. I have travelled to many different countries and stayed in many different hotels that have had rowdy people of all nationalities.
It started with the little incident that I almost got stuck on the Property before I reached the Office because of snow on the ground. In any other place I have been in Canada people actually plow!
Of course they gave me a room almost at the end of the property and I barely made it there. The room was pretty outdated. The only good was that the Bathroom looked new and clean.
After getting settled I find out that the remote for the TV does not work, called reception just to hear that I can come to the office to pick up another one ( great Service). Any other place someone would have come over with another remote and check if it works! So, I went to the Office to find 2 pretty unfriendly women behind the desk and of course they had to look for the remotes. Again, I barely made to my room and had a really hard time parking the car because of all the snow. Yes, you guessed it, the second remote did not work either. I gave up on the TV.
The worst part was that I was woken up 3 or 4 times by people kicking the walls( most likely they tried to get the Snow off their boots) or knocking like idiots on Doors. I don't talk about the normal knock, knock, knock here, they were knocking for over 10 min at a time. Called reception again and nothing was done. I think all the noise finally stopped at 4am!
Left the room at 9:30am and even more snow was on the ground and nobody really plowing. On my way to the office I got stuck and had to be dug out by a tracor and a guy with a shovel!
Friendliness and service is something you will not find here.
We were in room 101, room 100 where occupied by 3 first nation males and room 102 was occupied by 3 first nations females. The party started at 6:00 pm and continued. Trying to sleep through breaking glass, pounding on walls and doors swearing, eventually at 3:00am no less than 4 police cars where on the scene attempting to gain access. After a considerable amount of shouting and loud voices all way quiet at 3:45 am the police departed. At 4:00 the scene erupted again, we lost our cool went outside and confronted the abusers. Only to be met by verbal abuse, we showered, cleaned the broken beer bottles from around our vehicle, and departed. Do not stay there!!!
"Ensure all rooms have been renovated as we stayed in a beautifully renovated room but did not ask if all rooms had been given a total face lift. :) We stayed in Building "C""Read full review
"The only good rooms here are in other hotels. If you can try for a room near the front check in area to keep drunks away from keeping you up all night."Read full review
