I chose this place for it's location. Near to family who live in Toronto. The rooms are Spartan and neat. No frilly bits and pieces, as in most B&B's. In fact the room I was in was aesthetically minimal. Good Bathroom and shower. A bit of traffic and construction noise spoils the minimalist calm, which continues on to the stark...

This was the third time my wife and I have stayed at Index G. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully appointed (no surprise, really, given that the host and hostess are both artists); the location is convenient (one short block north of Queen Street West); and it's not every day that you get to eat your breakfast in an art...

We've stayed here three times now. Great location, great price and amazing hosts. Rooms are clean, ample, comfortable and attractive. B&B hosts are super helpful, but also non-obtrusive. I wish all inns were like this.

This was a great place to stay when we visited our son in Toronto. It's in a great location and close to street cars and bus lines. The place is absolutely spotless. The decor is modern. Holly, the owner, was a joy. The breakfasts were simple. A place to park your car is available for a reasonable $10 per day....

The rooms are really stylish, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is healthy, simple, delicious. But best of all is the art shop and gallery attached where you can pick up original artworks from local artists at really affordable prices - from small lino cuts to painted wooden blocks, photographs and jewellery. This is a wonderful little corner of artisticToronto and everyone...

It is nice to stay somewhere 'different' and this is it. A B&B above an art gallery! It is in a great location in a residential street on the up in the 'grungier' (and interesting) end of town. We loved the minimalist decor in our room and eating our continental breakfast in the gallery was a pleasant start to each...

A friend in Toronto referred me to Index G for a recent visit. I'm used to staying in hotels and probably wouldn't have stayed here without the reference. It was great! The room was very clean, fairly large and had uncluttered, modern decor. Everything like new. Pretty much exactly like a newer hotel room only much more affordable. The owners...

I first stayed at Index G after finding it in an internet search. It seemed too good to be true but it wasn't. First off, this neighborhood is COOL. From the Gladstone to the Drake to the Beaconsfield and more art galleries that you can shake a stick at. West Queen West is an eclectic area that is both chic...

We stayed at Index G for 4 days. Really liked the clean and contemporary decor- a pleasant departure from the more traditional look you usually find at B and B's. It is located in a walkable and trendy area. Breakfast was ok. We would stay again.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
