Great service, ambiance, and clean rooms. Don't judge this place by the outlook. Enjoy beer at their terrace facing the Main Street smack in the middle of the city at day time, and more drinks inside at night listening to live jazz music (free cover charge!). The one that starts at 9:30pm was especially great.

I booked for a room with a common toilet and shower. The room itself has all the basic necessities such as a wash basin, body and face towel, TV with lots of channels, room heater, a chair and a single bed. No cupboard however. The great feature of this hotel is the Jazz Bar below it. Has a good crowd...

The hotel is very cool and the bar downstairs is awesome, the service is great and the ambience is very musical. The location of the hotel is great and it's a very good place to stay. I definitely will come back next time.

I visited as it was a cheap and cheerful online deal. I had ni idea it was a jazz bar. My room was small but clean and most importantly warm. Personally I hate jazz music so everytime the music started I scurried off however I understand that there would have been a cover should I have decided to stay which...

My wife and I were there for a cpl hours on Sunday, Dec 27. The last time I was there was 15 years ago, alone, during a psychology conference. The place has changed a bit - less funky, cleaner, better food & beer - but it remains the same in the essential ingredient, great jazz. Loved it!

On a recent visit to Toronto, after a walkabout with my daughter we decided to drop by The Rex for a drink. I find this place never disappoints. Dr Nick and the Rollercoasters were in fine form doing homage to blues classics and originals just as good. The atmosphere of The Rex matched perfectly and we felt transported back in...

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Rex for 6 days and 5 nights. We got there around 7pm, reception was at the bar as the reception had closed for the day. We got a really warm welcome from the guy at the bar and got a really good vibe from the jazz bar and the jazz music that was...

Stayed at the Rex for one night Oct. 24. Read all reviews beforehand. This place is great. Excellent staff, easy check-in. Our second floor room was really quiet - we didn't hear a thing. Were in town for a show at the Horseshoe just down the street. The carpet in the hallways was tired - a bit worrisome heading to...

We upgraded our room on arrival, and they quickly cleaned and prepared a room. The owner was friendly and welcoming, and made sure that we were comfortable. The staff made an effort to remember our names. Breakfast was included with an option to upgrade for a small price. The room was large and clean. The bathroom was great. Some noise...

The location and price are unbeatable. 15 minute walk to Rogers Center, $105 on booking.com. It's clean, quiet (surprisingly so given the jazz club on the main level and being right downtown). Our room had a sink in the room plus a full bathroom. Laminate flooring in room and new tiles and fixtures in bathroom. Towels were new and wonderful...
