Couldn’t sleep the AC noise was loud and people was laughing at the colidor non stop and they charge me for drinks at bar that I didn’t drink Was hoping to get some rest and have a good sleep that’s why I choose to spend one night there. So you can imagine how frustrated I’m now

From beginning to end my experience at the hotel was above and beyond any of my expectations. The staff were just incredible and made me feel so welcome and excited for my stay. Joy, in particular, at the front desk was so great. You're lucky if you get to check in/out with her, she was just exceptional. The views are amazing. The hotel, from the lobby, to the elevator area, to the room itself, is beautiful. Really looking forward to returning in normal times when everything within the hotel is open to experience as well, but still had the best possible time!

Stayed in the Fairmont Gold Suite for a special get away. Staff were lovely and attentive, and the suite was fantastic. Excellent dining and drinks within the hotel. A five-star experience! Best sleep of my life in the King Bed as well.

Room Tip: Try the Gold Floor - a little pricier, but well worth it.

My husband and I were looking forward to our stay, celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. 20 years ago, when we 1st met, we stayed at the Royal York, since then, it has been our go-to hotel when celebrating our anniversary. This time around, we were disappointed to see all the modern updates, especially to the lobby. The loud, EDM music that was playing in the evening was completely out of place and ruined the vibe of staying in a historic hotel. There are plenty of hotels to chose from downtown, all the same, modern and boring. The York always stood out from the rest, but not anymore. We booked the Canadian Residents special package, which included "free self serve parking". Little did we know, the parking garage was a 10 minute walk. Only to find out at checkout, we could have paid only $10 for valet! Also, upon check in, we were given misleading information about the $25 in room dining credit. The hostess to is we could use it at the Rein Breakfast bar in the morning, sign it to our room, then use the credit towards it. Then, when we checked out, a different hostess told us "it was very clearly written in the fine print that the credit was for in room dining ONLY". Very rudly essentially calling me a liar when I said I was told otherwise. Sadly, this will be our last stay at the Royal York.

I've always loved staying at the Fairmont; of all the hotel chains this is my favourite. However this trip was unfortunately not up to the standards I'm accustomed to... We had to switch rooms 3 times. The hotel's situated in a good location - just steps outside of Union Station so it's very convenient to get around the city; to and from the airport as well. The pool is unheated and there is no jacuzzi. The state of the hotel/amenities are quite antiquated as well so don't expect the most up to date spaces (Steam room/sauna/showers etc)
