Good, convenient & well-run hotel. Welcoming, attentive and helpful staff. Room clean and comfortable. Stay & Park package excellent. Fast efficient shuttle to airport

Well worth staying here if flying out of YYZ.

Only a few less than positive comments: (1) the pocket door to our bathroom didn’t stay closed, which can be quite embarrassing if someone else is in the room. (2) The throne in our bathroom was sized for short people. Only. Anyone over 4’6” has to sit in a less than comfortable crouch. (3) We didn’t have time for breakfast, but the $22 buffet seemed to be the only thing available and a tad expensive. (4) Cleaning staff (or someone else) had left a glass outside our door

Would suggest that management invest in making the bathrooms a little more up-scale at the next investment/renovation opportunity. Also, a coffee urn in the reception for those waiting for the shuttle in the morning hours would be a welcome addition. (I know the in-room coffee maker is intended to provide this, but its product is, frankly, not much better than black water.)

Still, all in all, a very good value for money option for travellers.

We stayed here for one night before our trip south and left our car in the parking garage for 8 days. The lineup for the airport shuttle in the morning was so long that there wasn't room on the shuttle for everyone. Since it was 5am and the hotel is so close to the airport, the driver was back within 15 minutes and we still made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. The front desk staff and shuttle driver were all friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We'll stay here again before our next flight.

We stayed here previously and were convinced to join the IHG Rewards program which promises the best price, etc, etc. This stay of 2 nights was less than our expectations for the price.

I should state that we did not park a vehicle so we didn't incur an additional fee for parking. The food while excellent is over priced and drinks are hiway robbery.

Upon check in we were told that we could have a late check out which we declined and were advised should we change our mind "just let us know". When our flight was delayed we asked for a 2pm check out and were declined.

I grabbed what I assumed to be a clean towel off of the top shelf on the towel rack and proceeded to dry my hair after my shower. When I went to dry my face and body I noticed it was filthy. Brown spots and streaks all over it. I was disgusted. I took pictures and reported it to the front desk.

Our first stay at this hotel was booked through trevrluro and ironically I got an email advertisement the night before check out. The price was $60 and $70 per night less than what we paid. So much for the IHG Reward Program best price guarantee. My free program costed me $130 more than I would have paid booking indirectly through another party. BUYER BEWARE. Check your search engines before you book direct with this hotel for the best pricing!

The breakfast experience was extremely bad.
I booked a family room (breakfast included) for 2 adults and 2 kids aged 14 and 16, all clearly mentioned at the time of booking. I paid the full amount at the time of booking.
We were told by the staff at breakfast that we have to pay for 2 breakfasts ($24.99 each) because my booking only included breakfast for 2 and not 4.
I showed them a confirmation, but I was told I should contact Booking.com to solve the issue.
I tried to contact Booking.com overseas number (as we were in Canada) with a 20-minute waiting time. We had a plan to visit booked attractions, and we were getting late, so we had no option to pay the extra money for breakfast; otherwise, we would have missed our attraction entry slot.
It's not about the money that I had to pay; it's about the whole breakfast experience, time, and stress that we suffered.
Breakfast was OK, no coffee machine, selection of hot and cold food, but I am afraid not worth $24.99 each.
No hook or rail to hang your clothes in the toilet; if you would like to use the hangers in a small space next to the toilet, there is no door.
A coffee machine was provided—only 2 coffee pods for a family of 4!!
The toilet door is a sliding door that doesn't close fully.

Only positives are:
Convenient shuttle service.
Reasonable distance from downtown.
WIFI access.

Dear 4Kanwalu, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I'm truly sorry to hear about the challenges you faced during your stay, particularly with the breakfast situation. I understand how frustrating and stressful it must have been to encounter such issues, especially when you had plans for the day. I apologize for the confusion regarding your breakfast booking. This is not the experience we aim to provide, and I’m sorry that our team was unable to resolve the issue promptly. We will be reviewing our communication with third-party booking sites to ensure that such misunderstandings do not occur in the future. I also appreciate your feedback on the breakfast offering, as well as the room amenities. Your comments are invaluable in helping us improve our services, and we will certainly take them into consideration. On a positive note, I’m glad to hear that you found the shuttle service, location, and Wi-Fi access convenient. However, I regret that the positives were overshadowed by the difficulties you encountered. Please allow me the opportunity to make it right for you. Should you choose to stay with us again, I would be happy to personally ensure that your experience is seamless and enjoyable. Thank you again for your feedback, and I hope we can welcome you back in the future. Warm regards, Obeid Dadarkar Guest Services Manager Holiday Inn Toronto International Airport

For a big hotel chain, I was expecting better. This hotel is outdated. I felt like I was in the early 2000's. This place is fine for one night not more. My room was old. Ventilation too noisy, smelled dusty. Bathroom sink very tiny and low. That was so ridiculous, there's a huge bathroom counter but a tiny little sink. In addition I noticed bad draining from the bathtub.
I got also woken up by the clock alarm at 6am. Looks like it was not turned down from the previous guest. Pretty frustrared by that.
Lobby is ugly and smelled bad. Especially the sofas. Too much light too.
I checked in the day before their water cut off. Front desk advised me but I would have loved to have complimentary water but I had to request for it.
One time the guy on the shuttle bus rushed me when getting off. I find he was pretty mean and rough.
Also housekeeping doesn't know schedule. It was the day of my checkout and housekeeping knocked on my door close to 9am. Too early. Also not many people are away from the room at this time. People will be usually still in their room. I understand they go by a schedule but this was quite early and I couldn't really get rest as I was entitled to be in my room until noon.
I didn't use the food delivery but I find the hotel lacks safety on it. I saw delivery people are allowed to go up to the customer room to deliver. This shouldn't happen. Been to other hotels and either they leave the food in the lobby area either the delivery person waits for the guest to come down and grab it. This is for safety purpose. Only guests, allowed guests and staff should be allowed to come up. This is not a condo or apartment place. Pretty sure people are not that lazy to head downstairs to pick up their food.

We stayed here on a stopover from Europe enroute to our home. The check-in was super fast and staff very friendly. We asked about the shuttle as we had an early morning flight and they provided information very courteously. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Pillows were comfortable too.
We decided to have dinner at the on-site restaurant, which we found enjoyable with well prepared and presented food, excellent service and reasonable pricing.
We had a great night sleep and were relaxed to catch our early morning flight. Check out was very smooth and the shuttle was on time.
Overall, a very good experience.

We stayed here August 5th and 6th 2022. Our room was not cleaned after the first night instead a maid just handed us to clean bath towels, that’s it. The bathroom had a fan but does not work so the steam in the bathroom is crazy, wallpaper peeling off, mold starting in the tub corners, bathroom also has a sliding pocket door so you hear everything. A test fire alarm went off Saturday at 9 in the morning it took 30 minutes for them to tell us it was a false alert. Breakfast was mediocre for $16.00 my breakfast sandwich was 2 english muffins with scrambled egg and bacon that was undercooked. When we were checking out we were trying to leave the parking lot and could not get out. They kept saying we were not registered in the speaker at the gate, they would hang up on us and we would have to call back 2-3 more times. they kept saying they didn’t have my name on file we told them we just checked out and gave our room number, we didn’t realize because my friend used her hotel points they put the booking under her name at checkout instead of mine which they didn’t even tell us, we saw later on the receipt it was changed, so we sat outside angry unable to get out of the gate at the parking lot until Security came out. The money we saved staying 20 minutes from downtown Toronto was wasted on expensive Uber drivers next time we will just spend five or $600 a night and be right downtown with better service. I guess the saying is true you get what you pay for in terms of what your money gets you for quality. Lesson learned. Worst experience in a hotel I’ve had overall and I’ve been to many places.

Rates under reservation were not honoured. They charged us $50/room per night additional to what the rate was stated in the email reservation. The young man at the front desk was quoting some terms and conditions per IHG which were not in the reservation email. Despite him reading it and acknowledging what these t&c he was referencing were not in the email reservation, he would not rent us the room if we did not acquiesce to the higher rate. It was late at night or I would have went elsewhere. I’m an IHG member and have stayed at Holiday Inns across North America - worst experience ever. Will never stay here again nor recommend when a hotel will or honor written reservation rates, because of some mysterious conditions on the rate which were clearly not communicated to the guest in advance. Will be taking this up with IHG head office as this was a confirmed reservation rate, in writing.
Attitude of front desk make was very arrogant and dismissive. Unimpressed.

Our grandchildren were separated from their mother at CDG Paris and flew on their own to Toronto, a city that they had never visited.
This hotel was booked and paid for by us to receive them and their mother for one night.
Upon their arrival they were told, understandably, that Ontario regulations said as minors, that they cannot book in.
However, no help was given, the only suggestion was, they return to the airport, in the dark, at night, after a long flight, and sleep on a bench.
This they did and, thankfully, they were unharmed.
Would you be happy to have a child or grandchild of yours treated like this.
The hotel, while refusing to reimburse, a side issue, kept saying they could have stayed in their lobby but they were NOT told this by duty staff.
Our daughter, booked in to stay tonight after Air France rebooked her, has been offered a free breakfast in compensation, WOW!
We hope that the hotel learn from this, and their parent company, and have a policy in place to deal with an issue like this in the future, and ensure employees are trained.

Dear davidcD5252CV, Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and we sincerely apologize for the distressing experience your grandchildren and their mother had upon their arrival at our hotel. We understand your concerns and want to assure you that we take this feedback seriously. We understand different countries and provinces have different policies when it comes to legal age of renting a room but as per the Ontario law the legal age to rent a room is 18 years old. We did tell the guests to have a seat in the lobby and make them selves comfortable. They were advise by their father over the phone to return to the airport hence they departed. Our intention was to provide a comfortable and safe environment for them while they waited for their next travel arrangements. Regarding the issue of reimbursement, we understand your disappointment. While we cannot change the events that transpired, we will not be able to issue any refund in this case. We have taken note of your feedback and will review our policies and training procedures to ensure that our employees are equipped to handle such situations with compassion and efficiency. Once again, we deeply apologize for the inconvenience and stress caused to your family. We value your feedback and will use it to learn and improve. Should you have any further concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact our management directly. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you and your family with a much-improved experience in the future. Thank you Best Regards, Obeid Dadarkar Guest Services Manager

There were definitely ups and downs for this hotel! I'll start with the negatives so it can end on a positive note!

When I first got to my room I quickly discovered the entry light wished it lived in a disco and flashed as such. That was minor, I just didn't use it. The TV didn't get consistent service and your phone won't work in the basement. Nothing world ending.

However, the next issue was unavoidable. Every time I flushed my toilet it literally screamed for 5 minutes afterwards. Not ideal for middle of the night washroom trips!

The shower tap was on backwards, as in hot was cold and cold was hot but that I sorted out pretty quickly.

Lastly, don't let your door close on its own unless you want to disturb everyone in the surrounding 3 floors. There are no soft close hinges here!

Now on to the good!!

Check in was so fast and easy.

I was there for a conference and the hotel fed us and the food was AMAZING. The wait staff, chefs, bus people and anyone a part of that are the real heros in the building. I've never eaten quite so much diverse and delicious food in one place.

The room didn't have carpet which I appreciated and the bed was quite comfortable!

There is an area for pick-ups where all the shuttle busses stop, just outside the doors. Plenty of staff and signs around to point you in the right direction.
