The positives: -Friendly staff -Great location(walkable to many attractions, restaurants and shops)
Improvements; -I booked two nights. One with the hotel, the other was with a third party site. The third party site price was almost half what the hotel charged. I know we are in a big city but $500 for a basic room at a holiday inn seems really excessive. -the room smelled like a gym bag . We called and a gentleman came asap and sprayed something on the room to deodorize it. When we returned it did make a difference but smell was still lurking and room was damp for the two days there. -the bathroom door didn’t shut. The latch did not seem to be in working order. -the cooling system in the room either went from hot to freezer cold. We would have to constantly turn off the system when too cold and then turn back on when too hot as it wasn’t working correctly. - order red a snack from the robot butler and it never came ( we did call down and the charges were removed)
Overall great walkable location with friendly staff but definitely needs some work and didn’t give value for money spent.

We stayed here for 4 nights and were very pleased with our experience overall. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. There were three of us in the room and we did not feel cramped at all. We were on the 8th floor facing the courtyard where vehicles drop guests off and found it to be quiet. All of the staff were very friendly. The complimentary breakfast was a mixture of hot and cold foods, offering something for everyone. It can get very busy there in the mornings but there is a lot of seating in the breakfast area. As well, the staff were consistently topping the food up so that things did not run out. We found the free WIFI to work well. We plan to stay here again the next time we visit Toronto.

Stayed here as part of a Tui package holiday for 6 nights, including breakfast. Room was a reasonable size with two queen size beds which were very comfy. Lovely, high quality bed linen. Rooms had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker, which were very useful. The hotel lobby sells frozen ready meals for you to microwave which is a nice touch. Bathroom was very modern with Dove toiletries. Concealed lighting in the room made it feel very cosy, with a nightlight in the bathroom. We were on the 16th (top) floor which was very quiet. Excellent large, fast lifts - never had to wait more than a minute. Very helpful staff. Breakfast was fine with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, juices, hot drinks, toast, bagels, muffins, warm cinnamon buns, cereal, yogurts etc. The hotel is also in a great location, about a 15 minute walk from Union Station where you can catch the UP Express train to the airport. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We reserved for 3 nights at the Holiday Inn Express. We arrived around 1 PM and got our room even though the check in was at 3 PM. We also took the underground parking option (30$/day - taxes included).
The room (#802) has the typical amenities (safe, fridge, dryer, coffee machine (Keurig), soap/shampoo, etc...). You also get free Wi-Fi. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean.
The hotel does not do any room service during your stay unless requested 24 hours in advance.
We had breakfast included with the package we took. The breakfast items were mostly the same every day : eggs, sausages, make your own pancakes, fruits (orange/banana), cereals, yogurts, small muffins, orange/apple juice, etc...
The front desk members and other staff were always friendly, helpful and courteous. The room was overall very good as well as the breakfast. The location is great as everything is at a small walking distance. There is a park next to the hotel too.
Overall, everything was excellent. We look forward to staying again at this hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel for a 4 night work trip and would definitely stay again next time I'm in Toronto. The staff were all great and v accommodating to my requests. My room was spacious (by European standards) and the bathroom and shower were good, decent toiletries and no problem with hot water. It's only a 15min walk from Union station, and I really liked the location just on the edge of the main downtown area so that there are some smaller more 'local' feeling restaurants around (Cafe Oro di Napoli just across the road was great for pizza), but you are still close to everything downtown. St Lawrence market is v close by too. Great tram and subway connections. My room had a nice view on onto the St James's park and church in front. Lifts were quick and efficient getting up and down. Breakfast was fine, although 'scrambled' egg appeared to be chopped up cubes of hard omlette which was odd, and it was a real pity that we had to eat on paper plates and with disposable cutlery. As a tea drinker I would have liked a kettle in my room as the hot water that came out of the coffee machine in the room wasn't hot enough to make decent tea, however, there was v hot water (and more coffee) available in reception 24/7 if you needed it. In spite of these small issues I would definitely stay here again.

The prices in Toronto at the time we wanted to go were really expensive (due to Taylir Swift concerrt).
I usually research hotels and do tend to stay away from the large chains.
After my stay here, I am converted. The staff are incredible. So helpful and very friendly. Breakfast is free, it isnt all singing and dancing but was absolutely fine. Eggs and toast with bacon or sausage. Coffee is on demand and available to go at any time.
Checkout is at 11am but our pickup wasnt until 1:30pm. We spoke to reception and they very kindly let us keep the room an extra 2 hours, which allowed us to rest ahead of the long journey home.
This hotel is simply wonderful and I would fully recommend.

Clean, clean, clean. Great location. No restaurant in the hotel, but there are lots of local restaurants and shops nearby. Room price included a hot breakfast with a large array of food items from cereal, to eggs, sausage/bacon, yogurt, fresh fruit, pancakes, muffins, warm cinnamon buns, etc. and it was constantly being replenished. Room also included a mini fridge and a microwave. All the team - from reservations to housekeeping to breakfast service to maintenance were terrific and moral seemed very high. Friendly, knowledgeable about the area, directions, etc. We stayed here two nights and will definitely be back.

We stayed at the holiday inn Toronto downtown for four days. Our rooms were on the 9 th floor and the rooms were kept in an impeccable order by Irma. She was very flexible and friendly which made us feel safe and welcome. For the rest, the breakfast was quite good and the front desk gentleman reacted quickly to our request to ask other guests to stop partying at night.

This hotel is in a good location, very walkable to lots of places. There's a great muffin place right across the street. Toronto is a city so you need to be more careful in some parts near the hotel. We were assigned a room on a lower floor. Perhaps it was unique to that floor but the room felt very dated and there was not enough lighting installed, so everything was very dark. Equipment in the gym was also dated but adequate, although the treadmill made a loud horrendous noise. Hopefully they got that fixed. Breakfast was solid. Overall an average stay in a good location.

Excellent location for visiting the entire city on foot. 30 minutes by taxi from the airport. Typical and copious buffet breakfast (salty, sweet). Very comfortable bedding. Room, bathroom, common areas very clean. Excellent welcome. Luggage storage on site. Area for improvement: optimize the power of the wifi on the 8th floor because it does not work or works very little.

Don't remember what they charge for incidentals initially. With the credit card I only check the actual charge at the end compared to what is confirmed at my reservation.
