The Hotel location & front desk staff were wonderful. I am Rating hotel and front desk staff as a "5" My low rating of "1" is due to the fact I left my slippers on top of my bed and did not realize they were missing till I arrived home. The reason I am upset is they were a gift from my late husband, and after several telephone calls through 6 days I was told that no one found them. I feel their is a THIEF in their Housekeeping Unit and or their Laundry service, as How can you miss a pair of slippers when stripping a bed, even if they had fallen on the floor? SO BE AWARE & make sure you check all your belongings before checking out if you stay there, so you too, will not experience a loss..
A more than incredible location. Close to all major stadiums and main attractions in Toronto + excellent view on both the lake and the CN Tower. I recommend the place and the rooms are quite cozy, but more importantly, very clean. There is also the convenience of having a local coffee business on the main floor for your morning latteS
With hotels, I always give a detailed review and that's not going to change here. I stayed here recently for two nights while catching a Leafs' game. There were a lot of really good things about this place... and some stuff that future customers should know about. Location - Without question, this is one of the major selling points of the hotel. It's located on Queen's Quay, steps away from the Toronto Harbour, a five min walk from the CN Tower, 10-15 minutes from the Scotiabank Arena, and around numerous restaurants/shops/parking. It's easy to get to from all major highways and from the downtown core north of the Gardiner Expressway. If you're looking for a hotel that's near all the hustle and bustle of downtown without being IN that chaos, this is it. Hotel layout - the entrance to the hotel is on the NE part of the property. You walk inside and there's a Cafe Locale to your left, elevators and stairs in front, and then the reception/lobby to the right, along with a tiny convenience store that's mostly juices/clothing. Check-in and Check-out: Check-in was a decent experience. Despite some miscommunication about who was in line, the staff was very polite, knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions. It was the same at check-out; they were very helpful and efficient. Parking - This is always a big deal for me so I include it. The hotel has an underground parking garage with the entrance located a few feet south of the main entrance. It's a ramp going down and you'll be greeted by a security guard. YOU MUST CHECK-IN FIRST!! The guard asks for proof of check-in (show them the room key) and that you've given the front desk your car information. After that, you follow the signs. I went down one level to P2, which had plenty of spaces. However, here's where a "heads up" comes into play. When you park, you look for the elevator. I THOUGHT the green doors were the elevator... so parked and walked into one. It was actually the stairs to the street and nowhere near the hotel entrance. After I walked around and got to my room, I went to the garage elevators that come up to the lobby to work my way backwards. As it turns out, the elevators in the garage are under/next to the ramps for each level. They're kind of hidden so you really need to keep an eye out for them. Also... parking is $28 per night plus tax. It's not a great price but, to park your car for your stay and walk the streets, it's very much worth it. I had no complaints about that. The Room - The hallways are very easy to navigate. When I got to my room, it was a "tap" lock, like you tap a credit card. It takes a few taps to work but you'll get there. The room itself was spacious and bright; had a smart TV, a nice desk for work, a chair, a large bed, a mini fridge, and drawers. Lots of outlets for electronics, too. The bathroom had several mirrors and was spacious. However... the shower had no door on it, which I've never seen before, the shower liquids (shampoo, wash, etc) were mostly empty, and I saw a few issues concerning cleanliness. Those, along with other cleanliness issues around the room, were all brought up to the front desk upon check-out. It looked like the housekeeping staff did a quick sweep but missed a bunch and didn't give some of the necessary basics for the room. It was a nuisance for me but could be worse if you're not as prepared. Three other things I should point out - while the bed was great, the pillows were not overly comfortable and looked like long tubes. As well, I had a "city view" that was actually a view of the closed pool and a bit of the Toronto Harbour. I chuckled at that. "Well, it's not the worst view I've had." Finally, the walls are thin. I was woken up both mornings around 8am by staff/customers having conversations in the hallway. You can hear a lot and, if you're not used to it, that's frustrating, especially in the early morning hours. There are multiple restaurants within the building, including Shoeless Joes, Tim Hortons, and Mamma's Pizza. Out of those, I only tried Timmy's... and it hit the spot. Overall - I went to this hotel because it was a great location and within my price range for the two days that I could go. There were plenty of positives, such as the parking, the location, the look of the room, and the overall comfort. However, the cleanliness and lack of shower essentials were a big head-scratcher for me. I shouldn't be continuously finding things around the room that make me go "okay, they have to know about this." At some point, it becomes almost funny as in "here we go again." I'm giving the hotel a 3/5; there were a lot of positives but the negatives were enough that I can't justify *an A-grade. Would I return? It's possible, depending on the prices at other hotels. Do I recommend it to others? Yes, but with a "be aware of these things."…
Everything from start to finish was so easy and so pleasant. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful, the room was large and very comfortable, the bed was great and the view from our room was amazing. It’s in a great location and there is a street car stop literally out the front of the hotel. I can’t fault anything with our stay.
Horrible stay beds uncomfortable, there wasn’t a microwave in the room, ice machine only on every other floor, check in service wasn’t very clear with their communication. Didn’t explain the deposit well, and took 10 minutes to check in. I left something there by accident and emailed and called them to retrieve it with no response, offered to pay for it to be shipped back and gave a description of the item with special details only I would know. Emailed twice woth no response for my left item. No communication at all. Horrible for $570 a night way overpriced. Poor service and zero communication and very unfriendly parking lot smelt like piss and garbage everywhere. Not a family hotel at all. Would never stay again. I would not stay here for the price and service.
Excellent staff but the hotel need a bit more maintenance. Easy access to public transportation and restaurants. Beautiful location in a safe area of Toronto. We didn't experience the hotel's restaurant because it was being renovated.
Worst hotel experience . Check in help was so unhelpful. Pool was closed ( main reason I booked ) with an oh well to bad for you attitude. So not as described on website They certainly need better staff that are willing to help and be pleasant to customers Too bad because it’s a great area of Toronto
Friendly and helpful check in. The room was clean with everything one needed. Streetcars stopped 150 metres from the door. Only three stops to Union Station with connection to the subway and airport train as well as Viarail
Was in town for a conference, great check in and out process, location was excellent (walking distance to many attractions/amenities). Would choose this hotel in the future. Great view of the city and harbour.
Stayed here for 5 nights and throughly enjoyed. Staff were fantastic, gave us a high floored room that we requested, very clean and lovely sized room. The location was perfect and mostly everywhere we wanted to visit was in walking distance, would definitely stay here again if we came back to toronto.
