Chose this hotel for proximity to the Royal Alexandra Theatre and was more than pleased with everything about it. Winter in Toronto and our room overlooked Nathan Phillips Square, where we could watch the ice-skaters enjoying the outdoor rink. Beautiful view from Room 645. Great restaurants available without having to go out in the cold. Will definitely stay there again...

Everything about this hotel was spot on - I was there for three nights for a conference, and from check in, to room service, to check out, and everything in between, all of the staff were helpful, accommodating, and pleasant. My room, in a quiet corner of the 10th floor, was large, clean, well-appointed, and well-lit, and the bed was...

I just loved it! Location is perfect. Food is yummy. Staff is friendly and hotel is clean. Didn't visit a pool and the gym but my friends did and they only had positive experience. I would recommend this hotel. :)

Sheraton Hotel Where do I begin? Reservations: I pre paid for my hotel stay ahead of time. I wanted to leave the business VISA card I used to prepay- with the business -during my stay at the hotel and to use a different card for incidentals upon my arrival. Simple? You'd think. After being incorrectly misdirected from two different staff...

My annual professional organization met here early in the new year. Academics are cheapskates and look for bargains. Thus we tend often to meet in locations that are cold! We got basic rooms for about USD 100 but we were offered an upgrade to the 42nd floor for about USD 45 more. We took it and found ourselves in a...

I was there for 3 days and 2 nights. Pillows I found were too soft, but, that is me. I am sure there are people that like soft pillows. Bed was very comfortable and room was very clean. i was up on the 28th floor and enjoyed the view of the city lit up at night. Service was excellent as...

I arrived 15 minutes late for a presentation I had to deliver at the Sheraton Centre Hotel. My flight was cancelled from the States the night before. The rescheduled flight the morning of my presentation was over an hour late. When I checked into the front desk, Tammy at reception said to me: "Can we do anything to alleviate your...

Last minute getaway turned into a great stay. Lots of quality surprises. Super close to all kinds of great activities. Great attentive staff, quality room, bed and bedding was top notch. Had the pleasure of the 43rd floor lounge for breakfast and pre-dinner hors d'oeuvres. The connection to the under-street level "path" was a big plus during a cold weekend....

Overall, the hotel is a relatively nice one, with an attentive and helpful staff. The location is quite good. It's fairly pricey even with a discounted rate, though, and the carpet in the room (unlike everything else) was dirty and heavily stained.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
