My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights with our baby. Staff were very friendly, there was a great selection at breakfast and the room was very clean. Great location as we were able to walk everywhere with the stroller. We walked to St Lawrence market, the waterfront, Eaton shopping centre and strolled downtown. There is also a shuttle...

We are currently staying here and have had a very mixed experience. The pool area is fantastic and very underused by hotel patrons. The rooftop hot tubs are truly a brilliant experience. As others have stated the hotel is in a bit of a dodgy area but the vagrants seem to leave you alone.Again as others say the breakfast is the same...

My wife and I needed a break and we had stayed at The Grand 4ish years ago and very much enjoyed our stay. We thought we'd revisit hoping for the same positive experience. We are glad we did! The staff were very accommodating about an early check-in. We were able to park on site and they offered to secure our...

On checkout I left my purse in the room, i contacted the hotel the following day and one of the team from the front desk Krista, arranged it to be sent by Fedex to my home address in the UK and it arrived a few days later with all its contents. Krista went above and beyond her role. It shows...

Stayed at the grand hotel for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute. The front desk upgraded us to the top floor and to a room with 2 queens instead of the room we originally booked as we had 3 ppl and the 3rd person wouldve had to sleep on the sofa bed. The location is a bit dodgey looking however...

We arrived at this hotel on the 10th October for 5 nights. The staff were very helpful throughout. In particular the wonderful guys on the doors who also drove the shuttle service. Extremely polite and when dropped at a different hotel on our last day at the grand the driver did not let us exit the car until he knew...

We stayed in a Junior Suite for 7 nights this October. The hotel is a few minutes away in a taxi from Union Station, which now has a direct train link from Toronto Pearson International Airport. The room was lovely. Very light, open and accessible. The kitchenette facility was very useful. It came equipped with a huge microwave and fridge...

The draw to this hotel was the availability of a 2 bedroom suite with common living area. It's convenience to downtown Toronto was a bonus. This was the perfect venue for a family travelling with teens. Separate bedrooms meant that we could be together and separate at the same time. The area is a bit sketchy with a few homeless...

I stayed at the Grant Hotel for OVO Music Festival August 1 - 5. It was a national Canadian holiday weekend and there were plenty festivals to attend. We arrived at the hotel at around 10 am and our room wasn't ready until 4 pm, which was frustrating at the least. We brought a third person on our trip and...

Stayed 5 nights in this hotel and enjoyed it. Staff were very helpful and friendly, Room was equipped with every thing needed. We asked for a baby cot and a kettle upon our arrival which was provided with no problem. The hotel location is good and easy to walk to the downtown Toronto. The downside was the homeless people around...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
