I didn't know what to expect. I was told that this is an old hotel. They've certainly done a great job updating it. Staff is extremely helpful and professional: Katerina, James. My room was on a higher floor, spacious, good amenities. You're greeted as soon as you near the outside front door, front desk staff welcoming. All very well done!

The Grand was the perfect place for my Canadian friend and I to meet up for a weekend of ballet and museums. And great food! We had a suite with 2 separate bedrooms and a living room and kitchenette--very spacious. Really, the only fault I can find with the accommodation is that the lighting was very poor. The living room...

This place was great. Staff were very friendly & helpful when we booked in & gave us a quick call shortly after we got to our room to check everything was ok. Some aspects of the room were slightly jaded & worn. Well, just the curtains really.. Apart from that it was very spacious with a small kitchenette and a...

My fiancé and I stay here quite often as we absolutely love it. It has everything you need and more not to mention it's located in the heart of downtown Toronto within walking minutes to everything on your list. They have underground heated parking. They have two rooftop Jacuzzies with the most breathtaking view of the city! They also have...

We love Grand Hotel Toronto. The hotel has everything you may want. A large bathroom, a beautiful pool, a wonderful and generous menu, an ecellent breakfats, and even a DVD player in the room. Parking is easy to access and the service is very professional. Love it

Really good hotel outside of the main downtown core. Area was a bit shady but not overly so and a short cab ride to the financial district. Shortly walk to Eaton centre. Great rooftop spa. Good workout facilities and a nice pool. Free breakfast also a great deal. The room was nice but not a fantastic for business. Few plug...

This hotel is situated in walking distance to many things. It's decor is beautiful throughout - the pool looks like something from a magazine. It was too cold to enjoy the rooftop hot tub but we did go up to enjoy the view of the city lights. Music videos were playing on a large screen - cool idea. Would love...

Very nice upscale hotel. Beautiful lobby and nice breakfast buffet and restaurant and bar. Rooms are beautiful and spacious. Internet is very spotty. Within walking distance of the mall and lakeshore area.

Stayed in Grand Hotel Toronto for 5 nights and had a very pleasant experience. The location of the hotel is great (though the neighborhood around does not look the best one - however is perfectly safe). Overall I had a very pleasant staying experience and would visit again. Rooms: The room was spacious, nicely decorated with an interesting setup, a...

We spent seven nights at The Grand hotel. It was in a convenient location, a five minute walk to Dundas Square and the Eaton Centre. The facilities were excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast had something for everyone. If we went to Toronto again we would definitely stay here and would recommend it to...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
