At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.

We have stayed at the Chelsea Hotel several times, with the latest being during the week of March 18, 2019 for 2 nights. While it is a very big hotel (over 1500 rooms) you never get the feeling that it's overwhelming. Check-in/check-out are always very quick if you are a member

My father and I spent the night here while my wife and infant son had an overnight stay at Sick Kids Hospital. Unfortunately, the hospital only allows 1 parent to stay overnight. The hotel is a short walk from Sick Kids so it was a convenient location for us. The room and

Poor security, I was robbed and mugged where you catch a taxi at the hotel, Asked the taxi on the ramp to take me to the airport, he said he could not. What appeared to be 1 of 3 taxis on the lane turned on his interior light and motioned me, said he would take me to the airport

Dear Rufus, We truly care about individuals having to come to the city for medical reasons so we are pleased that you had reached out to us with your inquiry. We do offer a patient stay-over rate however, it is subject to availability and it does fluctuate - please contact our Reservation team by calling 1-800-CHELSEA and they would be more than happy to assist and provide more detailed information. We hope to warmly welcome you and your wife soon - we wish her all the best in regards to her upcoming procedure. Sincerely, Guest Experience Specialist - Chelsea Hotel, Toronto

First of all, you have to remember that once you give your credit card # to the staff at Chelsea to cover the costs of your room, they can add on any additional charges if they chose to do so. I was charged a $1,250.49 for costs incurred by someone else and for costs such as room service, tickets and so on, which I had not pre-authorized. I have never even actually booked a room with them. I gave them my number to hold a room for someone while waiting for a cheque to cover the costs for these people, and they were supposed to remove my info off the file upon getting their money... It was 3 months later that they charged me all these costs which I was not even aware of until I received my monthly statement. I have tried and tried to get them to reverse these charges, and bill the people that actually stayed there, as I did not, but they want me to be their bill collector instead and go after the people for the money. This is just too insane. Anyway, because of this I canceled my credit card as I realized how unsecure they really were to allow this hotel to charge my credit card, although there is nothing on file to show I pre-authorized any of this... Best of luck...
