The largest hotel in Canada is (unsurprisingly) a bit of a people factory. Read the Wikipedia article. The hotel lacks investment, and at the time of writing, the 17th floor was rather tired. And at times, there was quite a queue for the elevator to get to the room. And there were long queues for check-in/-out. The room itself was...

We had upgraded to a de luxe room and were very disappointed with our room. It was very tired looking and was not large. The carpet was stained and wallpaper was coming of the wall behind the curtains. We understand that some rooms are in the process of being updated and so when this is finished the rooms may be...

This hotel has lots of history! Nice building and amazing friendly staff. A must stay when in town if you're looking to stay at a hotel and don't know what to select for your staying. The view is very nice as well. Chelsea Hotel will make you feel good.

Upon checking in at the reception desk and being assisted by Jennifer who i found to be extremely impatience with me as i had many questions and her tone and attitude was very shocking. She was blunt and rude and i found my check in experience not satisfactory at all. I am not sure why this hotel has someone working...

On arrival parking is easily accessed following the signs. Disappointed with the long ques to check in considering the size and number of available desks only two were manned resulting in a 40 minute wait. Having said that the staff were welcoming and explained facilities. The hotel is very large with colour coded lift banks and ques in the morning...

Wonderful hotel, stayed for 3 nights at the end of a tour of Canada, huge hotel but the lifts are colour coded so make sure you know what colour lift stops at your floor. Don't panic it's on your key holder and you only need to be shown once. Really handy take away/diner so you can grab a snac n...

Everyone at the hotel was very helpful. We received a wonderful recommendation for a restaurant,Scaddabus, which was across the street from the hotel. They also gave us a coupon to have a fabulous dessert with our entree. The hotel was close to public transportation with a convenient market that sold with grocery type items. The rooms were very clean and...

Stayed here for 3 nights, we booked 3 rooms. The check in was quick and friendly, allowing access to our rooms at 12pm. The rooms, yes they were a little dated and not perfect but they were clean and adequate for a short stay with free WiFi (although a bit intermittent) The hotel is very large and well organised, lots...

Only stayed for one night as a brief stop over but the room was more than reasonable! I checked it at 1am and was greeted by a warm friendly guy who sorted out checking me in. The rooms were large and clean. The only qualms I have is that the breakfast in the morning was very over priced and you...

First stop on our tour around Canada and Seattle, and as a lot of people have said the hotel is very large and a bit dated and we have certainly stopped in better on our travels but it served its purpose for location and pick ups to go on our various excursions.Like any other big city hotel there's noise at night,no...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
