this hotel has the best location in downtown Toronto. The lobby is always hopping. I stayed in a "non-renovated" room. It's OK - bathroom floor was pretty dinged up and so was the furniture. No fridge - which is very disappointing. Worst part was the lack of soundproofing. I could hear my next door neighbour peeing late at night (yes,...

One of the nicest hotels I've seen yet. Great for families, has several pools for different ages and needs. There are some water slides and also an adults only pool. There is child care available in their nice play area which even has live rabbits and fish tanks. Tons of toys and things for the kids to play with. They...

Booked this hotel through priceline for a very discounted price. First impression: Wow this hotel is huge. Upon check in we learned that we only had one bed - not a huge deal. We decided to upgrade $40 to two double beds. AJ at the front desk was kind and very helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean! The beds...

The eaton Chelsea puts kids first. They have special check in and activities for kids. They do have confusing rules for what is included in your room rate and charged us for included breakfast. But the pool and other amenities were top notch.

Stayed in upper level in 2014. Stayed twice this year and both times were in lower levels (ieg. latest was floor 8 - red elevator). The hallway and carpet was dingy. We had a corner room which was 'roomy' with a queen sized bed and a tiny bathroom that cannot fit 2 people. We were able to get a fridge...

The Chelsea Hotel was formerly the Delta Chelsea and formerly the Eaton Chelsea. I don't know why the latest change occurred, but I do hope it hasn't affected the progress of ongoing renovations, which leave parts of the hotel looking quite shabby. I paid extra for the Deluxe Room, which was worth it. Was glad to have a balcony to...

Dear JamesO, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback from your many stays at the Chelsea Hotel, Toronto. Our most recent name change was due to the shift in branding of the hotel owners brand, Eaton. We realize that the unique features of the Chelsea, such as separate pool facilities for adults and families, makes it hard to...

It was such a great place to take kids for the March break. Offered lots of activities for the kids. We got to see a magician show and free face painting. The location was perfect only $10 cab ride to the Rogers centre. The room was clean and comfortable and staff were amazing and helpful. Definitely coming back

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
