We stayed at the Chelsea many years ago and always enjoyed our stay. It was very disappointing this time. Our room in the north tower was awful. The wallpaper was coming off the wall the balcony was filled with pigeon droppings. A used Kleenex was on the floor beside the bed and the washroom was not properly cleaned. Nice lobby...

Stayed due to a family member having surgery. Great location and service in order of accommodation. Went to the bar (Monarch Pub) for dinner great food but service was extremely slow. The next night we went back only to be harassed by the bar tender in which we tipped liberally for a few drinks in celebration of a good outcome....

I should start by stating that I received this room on Priceline for a great deal (3 1/2 star category in Toronto for "name your price"). For the price would I stay here again for one night - yes. Would I stay here for more than one night - no. My review is based primarily on the room. I don't...

The family stayed at the hotel for three nights. The rooms were small but very nice and clean. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. We had to go to sick kids hospital which was right down the street, which was great that we could just walk there. It is a very nice establishment with all the amenities. It is...

I booked a package to stay here with British Airways but then red some reviews which made me a bit wary. I shouldn't have worried as my four night stay was great. From the moment I walked in after a long flight Christian on the front desk made me very welcome and sorted my room in minutes. He also pointed...

my wife was having surgery near by this motel and we did a priceline bid and were able to save largely with getting a room for $75.00 cdn plus taxes and fees with totaled $94.50 cdn. our reception was good as a gentleman named Christian took care of us and actually gave us extended parking time so we would not...

Was on the 6th floor, couldn't sleep due to traffic noise outside - you're close to Hospitals and so you hear sirens all night leading to a wakeful night. My room was uncomfortably warm. My tried to turn down the room temp using the thermostat on the wall - even though the thermostat dials up or down, you actually have...

Most of the hotel staff were good, some looked the other way. There are four restaurants in the hotel lobby area. One was closed, one I couldn't find the entrance, one was more a breakfast/lunch place (was great for breakfast!), and then there was the other one. There were only six entrees on the menu, two were not available, dessert...

Like many others say, the location was amazing. It was a few minutes walk to the College Street, the Eaton Centre, shopping, restaurants and the subway. We got a deal on a Chelsea Room which was massive, comparatively speaking. It had a small living room sitting area. I would have liked a fridge though, especially if I was there longer...

Big lobby, lots of people and ok rooms. You have to request a fridge if you need one, they also have a nice small gym and liked the salad bar and the restaurant/cafeteria. No in room service from 1pm to 5pm, which was very odd. They only gave us one breakfast voucher, even though we were a couple.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
