I needed a place to stay during the busy Pride 2016 weekend and this was the cheapest available. The place is centrally located, an easy stroll to Dundas Square, Ryerson University, and Wellesley. The view of Toronto's skyline from the rooftop is amazing. The room itself is basic and is in a semi-private suite that includes three other rooms. All...

A 1-star hotel. Stay elsewhere. I paid $100 non-refundable May 28 2016. Putrid shared bath. 3rd-rate breakfast extra. No air-conditioning (this is downtown Toronto). Many pothead residents. Staff think . . . . very . . . . . slowly.. . . . parking extra. You can do much, much better than this for $100.

Right in downtown Toronto! Close to everything downtown has to give. Close to Financial Centers, Eaton's, University of Toronto and Ryerson, subway, etc. There are numerous other great hotels in the vicinity but they extremely more expensive! There is a relatively short walk to the lake and Toronto waterfront. The place is not luxurious but the price more than justifies...

Traveled to Toronto from Philadelphia for the Caribana Fest. Stayed 3 nights, 4 days. We booked way in advance b/c the festival is huge and attracts people from all over. We knew we wouldn't be spending a lot of time IN the room so we didn't care what it looked like or how luxurious it was (2 single beds, small...

Rooms are small, separate dirty washrooms. uncomfortable mattress. Itchy bed cover and blanket. Hostel turn noisy club on weekend. It cost 85 dollars per night and you will be sleepy whole next day. Only good thing is breakfast.

I stayed here for a few months (Sept-Dec 2014) as part of the college accommodation. It was far from luxury but for the price and location it was reasonable. Yes there is a rodent issue - but you're in downtown Toronto above a pizza joint, rodent control isn't easy. I was on the 11th floor and the problem only occurred...

There is so much for me to say about this place. But I will leave it as okay. A friend stayed here and she raved about it. Yea...well we are two different people. Be aware they DO NOT have AC. ONLY in the lobby and in the lounge. So if you get hot, you will be hot. Pack a fan.

I was organizing for a large group so I called and asked for information. The website indicates there are "group rates", but when I asked the person on the other end had no idea what I was talking about. I then asked about vacancy and was told "we were near capacity this weekend, I doubt you'll get a room" (this...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. This place has alot of up's and down's to it. Positive: Room was reasonable size, the free breakfast was very good, many elevators, fantastic views of the city from the rooftop, free wifi in the breakfastcafe and lobby, very nice staff and nice location within walking distance of shopping, attractions, public...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
