Ergin was an absolute pleasure to deal with. I helped my mother check in and I went back home to leave her in the big city for a few days(she's from a small northern town). Ergin not only made her stay comfortable but he was also very welcoming ad patient with her. My mother doesn't have a cell phone or...

My wife and I have stayed here several times while visiting our daughter. The place has a relaxed charm and the location is central to get around. There are lots of restaurants near by and the streetcar is a block away. We recommend this place to all of our friends visiting the city.

Located in a very central neighborhood in downtown Toronto, walking distance from every touristic attraction and the nicest neighborhoods. Very cozy and familiar place, characteristic Victorian to building. The room was clean and spacious, good breakfast included and access to the kitchen available any time. Ergin welcomed us warmly and was very helpful with suggestions about the city beauties and...

The house is perfectly located in the city center, around Church st, right next to the gay district. Still a nice walk to the commercial area and very nice neighborhoods like cabaggetown. The room was spaceful and warm, the bed very confortable, I had the green room on the second floors. Despite the share bathrooms which concerned me a bit...

Found this on a website and I am very pleased with the cleanliness the offer for breakfast food choices and location. Owners accessible and very responsive to needs. Will recommend and use again. Close to Ryerson University, grocery store and good food choices near by Shared bathroom not an issue as washrooms on other floors.

Great location a short walk from the subway -- an easy ride to TIFF. Very affordable, with a better-than-average Continental breakfast in the morning. Only drawback is the shared bathroom on a separate floor, but worth the inconvenience considering the cost and location. On-street construction was going on while we were there -- the area should be even nicer once...

McGill Inn was not exactly what I had been expecting. The fact that it calls itself a B&B is totally misleading. Guests are completely on their own here. I was not welcomed by the owner when I arrived. No, the owner was apparently away, a fact I would have liked to be told about before I arrived, and in his...

This was the perfect spot for us, on a quiet street so close to Church Street and downtown. Ergin was the perfect host, greeted us at the door and showed us around. The room was perfectly clean with the option of two shared bathrooms for our convenience. The bed was super comfortable and a great continental breakfast awaited us downstairs...

Cool place, cozy and Bryan was real helpful and nice. About a 10 minute walk from the College Street Subway station. Lots of food to eat in the refrigerator. The room was big and clean (Aqua Room) and the bathroom was one level down the stairs. Located on a nice, safe location.

We recently stayed at the McGill Inn bed and breakfast, it is well located to all of the Toronto attractions such as the CN Tower, water front and of course the Church street village. The staff were very friendly and helpful We stayed in the White room but will probably try the grey or Aqua room on our next visit...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
