We made the mistake of accidentally booking this hotel room for the wrong weekend and since our booking service didn't send us but one notification - we didn't catch the error until it was too late as the date had already passed. We pleaded with the hotel for some mercy but they weren't interested - they offered to take some...

The staff at the double tree desk were extremely welcoming. The rooms are nice and contemporary with awesome beds. The location of this double tree is great, only a block away from ice skating, right near the bike share bikes, and a few blocks away from the city center. Overall a fairly priced, excellent hotel!

The Double Tree is located in a great spot, between Younge Street and University Avenue. It's an easy walk to the Eaton Centre and lots of shopping. The rooms (mine anyway) was a little small, but clean comfortable and equipped with everything I needed. Staff, including reception and housekeeping were all very friendly and helpful. The only downside is parking....

This hotel used to be the Metropolitan, and was getting quite run down. Newly renovated by Hilton it is now a very pleasant place to stay, very conveniently located in downtown Toronto. The two restaurants remain, although I didn't eat in either this time as there are lots of inexpensive restaurants on Dundas Street, Chinatown, and Kensington.

My husband and I stayed here for a one-night getaway this past weekend. The room was ready super early and we were able to check in before noon! Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
