The property is quite depressing & offers no attractiveness. We were unable to secure pillows for the sleeper sofa so we had to improvise with a rolled up blanket & a sheet wrapped around it so my daughter could sleep. There was a terrible odor in the lobby upon arrival - we found out it was from the desk attendant...

Whilst this hotel is conveniently located to the downtown sector of Toronto and to the Billy Bishop Airport, it is not necessarily located in the most ideal location. The outer area surrounding the hotel appeared rough and unkempt; and garbage was strewn about the sidewalk outside the hotel. My room was very small and cramped and was certainly not the...

This is one of the most horrible hotels I've ever stayed in. No elevator. Nasty carpet. OLD OLD bed linens, light bulbs out in the rooms, fan/AC unit looked like it hadn't been cleaned in decades. The front desk staff were pleasant enough; I actually felt bad for them having to work there. I live in a third world country...

What can I say? Reception/check in staff good. But the whole building and rooms are GRIM. I had a double bed room. Small. I mean, very small. Trying to think of a better description but GRIM is all I can say. It's meant to be a Howard Johnson brand perception. Breakfast - standard cereals, hot drinks motel type menu -...

This hotel is the filthiest place I've ever seen. I was so disgusted with how dirty it was, people smoking in hallways and there was even an individual with a bong. There was what appeared to be blood on the floor. It's in a bad neighbourhood, no parking available. I ended up leaving and staying elsewhere, the desk staff weren't...

If I could give a 0 out of 5 I would! This is my second stay with this hotel and the experience was terrible. I will never come back!!!! I bought a NON-SMOKING double bed room, (207 if that helps anyone) and as we walked into our room the smell of stale smoke was unbearable! It was like having your...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
