I had previously booked the room online (queen bed and bath, etc.) and at check in I was informed that all rooms with queen beds were no longer available. My boyfriend and I were given a room with 2 double beds. The bathroom wasn't cleaned well. Room was set at a hot "winter" temperature which made it impossible to sleep. Noisy...

Helpful, friendly service offered from all staff at Holiday Inn. I was impressed that I was offered a take away coffee at breakfast when I left the table. The room was clean and comfortable. Check-in was very friendly and I got a bonus welcome pack for being a IHG member.

My twin sister and I spent the night here after dining out downtown for our birthday. The nest morning we went down for breakfast and were greeted by the friendly and efficient staff. During breakfast we mentioned to one of the staff that it was our b'day and it did not start out as we had planned. The piano bar...

We stayed 2 nights for a business meeting. The lobby is beautiful and check-in fast and easy. Staff is very polite and helpful. The rooms are small for 2 persons sharing the room and the bathroom is way too small !! Overall, the rooms were clean and bed was confortable. The only thing we had to call the desk because...

I am using this hotel from Monday and tonight is fourth night at this hotel. The most impressed service at this hotel is excellent services at breakfast restaurant. All of them are very kind and, as it is the start of the day, we can start every day very happy. As a guest on business trip, honestly speaking, it was...

Check-in was simple, staff weren't very friendly (a bit too 'professional'). Single room wasn't available, so we had to have a double room, thought it didn't look like it had been inspected: bath faucet was pulled out of the wall, armchair was dirty, bathroom looked rushed (shower curtain half on, towels shoved in a shelf), there was 1 coffee packet...

Amazing location, amazing customer service, very clean. The water pressure in the shower was AMAZING!! My negatives... My friend complained that the shape of the room made her a bit closterphobic; it was on the small side. And the gym had several machines that were not working. The staffs suggestion was to go across the street to a gym that...

This is a pretty average hotel for a good price but in a great location. The rooms were clean and nice but a little small and ours smelled like cigarette smoke even though it is a non smoking room. Good location, within walking distance to all major attractions but for those that prefer not to walk, Subway station not to far away and trolley passes right in front of the hotel. The hallways were a little Querky, felt almost as if you were in a maze but still charming. Worst part was parking (C$28) was limited at the hotel...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
