HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 24 October 2016

There was a bit of sticker shock when I arrived as this was the most I have ever paid in Toronto for lodging, and most of it has been in this hotel. However, we saw how a lot of other prices had increased in the area for food, beverages and attractions (the CN Tower, for example, requires the budget of...

Cold staff, especially the tall bearded guy at the desk, what a sweetheart this guy is. No wifi all 3 days. Something sticky on the carpet in the room. You have to fetch the towels for the pool at the front desk. Wouldn't stay here again.

Great hotel, very nice staff except for the guy who checked us in. Rooms are very nice. Wifi could be improved. Restaurant is nice but breakfast had only about 4 potato squares which was disappointing

The front desk and housekeeping staff were truly wonderful. Helpful, friendly, really excellent people. Our only complaint was the decor seemed a little dingy/dated. Our room was very clean. Unfortunately the neighborhood isn't the greatest, but there's not much you can do about that. We enjoyed the pool, and the breakfast in your restaurant.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
