Ted & Diane couldn't do enough for us. They were very welcoming and made myself and my partner feel right at home. They were both also very kind with helping us book a trip to Niagra Falls and the map they gave us of Downtown came in handy when out and about. The boatel is also in a great location...

The 'sleeping on a boat' experience was out of the ordinary. As a frequent business traveler... this is definitely one for the books. The owners were amazing hosts, really making you feel at home ("where the boat is", as written on the sign in the living room). Too bad my stay was so short.

What a great surprise my wife pulled off. Staying in downtown Toronto and....on the water for an unforgettable weekend. The boatel is located in a very convenient location to access all of our great city. Ted and Diane were wonderful hosts and very knowledgable of the area. The food....was amazing and the whole experience was incredible. Thank -you

The Boatel is a very unique experience. Diane and Ted are awesome host and wil make you feel like you are at home. Diane's home cooked breakfast were a great start to the day. Room was very small but cozy. Having the rest of the boat to relax in makes up for the small room. Location cannot be beat and...

We we're made to feel like family friends whilst staying. Ted and Diane were kind, helped us book activities and generally made us feel special. The home cooked breakfasts were a treat. The waterfront location was perfect to explore Toronto from. Yes the boat can be a little small, and sometimes the noises from the marina can be a little...

Anyone who loves to be on a boat and wants to be right in the middle of down town Toronto, within walking distance of many attractions and the Island airport, will love this 'boatel'. It is not spacious in the cabins, but then this is not a cruise ship, and it is much bigger than many berths I have experienced...

This was our second stay on the Boatel and I cannot imagine staying anywhere else when visiting Toronto. Diane and Captain Ted are excellent hosts. In addition to the gourmet breakfasts, Diane is a wealth of knowledge about attractions in Toronto. The Boatel is situated in a great location to access Toronto by foot or public transportation. It is also...

We stayed here for 2 nights and we wish we could have stayed longer. Great location - just a short walk to most of the attractions and Diane and Ted were lovely hosts (we loved the breakfasts). Highly recommended for a unique visit to a great city

Lovely people and a great location. The only time we have been able to walk from our accommodation to the airport (Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport). Just don't expect much room in the two smaller cabins!

We came across Diane and Ted’s unusual bed and breakfast while looking for lodging for two nights in Toronto. Super experience. The Boatel is such a fun and different place to stay in the heart of downtown. Walking distance to the CN Tower, stadium, museums, and great restaurants. Nothing like sitting on the deck in the late afternoon enjoying a...

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.

Enjoy your stay at the most unique Bed and Breakfast in Toronto aboard a 65 foot motor yacht moored in the heart of downtown Toronto. Guests are gently rocked to sleep and wake-up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and a gourmet breakfast surrounded by a post card view of the city and Toronto harbour. Leave the car and walk everywhere, shopping, catch a baseball game with Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre, CN Tower, and restaurants galore... all within a short walk or street car access away. Close to the theatre district with many choices of live theatre and musicals to choose from. Take time to enjoy a hop-on-hop-off tour of the city or rent bike to tour the waterfront. Book the whole boat and ask us about having dinner on our skylounge. Take in one of the charters in the harbour for a romantic evening cruise before returning to your own private yacht. Come back to the boat to enjoy the spectacular view from the aft deck and experience life on the water. Warning: marine life is addictive; your first visit won’t be your last. ... more   less
