Just returned from a weekend at the Soho in Toronto. It was the first time that we had spent the night at this hotel. It has always had a very good reputation so we thought we'd finally give it a try. The location is in the Entertainment District so very close to theatres, restaurants and lounges - also close to...

What a brilliant hotel! Delightful staff, friendly and genuinely helpful. Our room was a suite overlooking the courtyard, very quiet indeed. Sparkling clean room, with a huge, shiny marble bathroom. Very comfortable bed with great quality linen and excellent pillows ensured a great night's sleep. Breakfast was excellent - such amazing pastries! Clean and well-equipped fitness centre, and a lovely...

We have been regular visitors to this hotel for the past few years (see my previous review) but will look for other options when staying downtown from now on. We paid over $500 for a two-night stay only to have to deal with hotel guests across the hall smoking weed (so much that they stunk up our room!) and loud...

Spent the weekend in Toronto, and booked the SoHo. ( from its own website they offer some great deals). Had a nice room, heated floor in bathroom ( loved that), nice selection from minibar. Plenty of oversized bath towels ( LOVE THAT even more), and an deep tub and large shower. Good selection from the mini-bar, quiet hotel, and it...

The rooms maybe nice at this hotel but be forewarned that when breakfast is included in the rate they still charge you the tax on the breakfast. It may be only $6 in tax but in my opinion it is the principle of the matter. I have not seen any other hotel do this before when breakfast is included...perhaps I'm...

Definitely my favourite place downtown for cocktails. They have a great selection of interesting drinks that encourages you to try 'just one more'! The little snack accompanying the drinks is an excellent touch. (Truffle popcorn was best so far). Bar menu is also a winner. The lighting is low and makes for a romantic atmosphere.

Had a one night stay for a business trip and was looking for a more reasonable rate on a room rather than with one of the big boys downtown. Rate was very affordable and in a fun and upcoming area. Staff was wonderful and very helpful.

We stayed here 2 nights in December and upon check in were offered an upgrade from the standard room to the luxury room but it was not for free like some of the past reviews that i've now read - we were charged an extra $25/night (for $50 not sure if it's in their best interest to just offer the...

My fiance and I stayed at the SoHo Met for New Year's Eve. Although nothing was going on in the hotel that night the streets were buzzing with people and just a short walk in any direction was a bar or nightclub of somesort. The two restaurant/bar's in the facility were great. The service and food was impeccable. Even the...

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
