I won the stay at The Pantages Hotel in a silent auction....was so pleased!! It was a beautiful weekend getaway from the kids. The hotel is beautiful and in the best location downtown. It was a short distance for dining, across the street from Massey Hall so after the show a brief walk and we are back. The hotel suite... More

Stayed for business had some meetings downtown during my stay but nothing too much. Spent a lot of my time within the hotel. Rooms were par but not anything extravagant. Comfortable beds and my floor was quiet for the most part. Room service was good quality and attendant was very personable. Spent a few nights in the martini bar, staff... More

We wanted a hotel close to Massey Hall as we were in Toronto for one night to see a show. The Pantages was perfect. Quick access to everything. The best part was Pella at the front desk : ) She gave us suggestions for supper and after-dinner drinks. At her recommendation we ate at Osteria (fabulous) and later went to... More

Having the full sized fridge, microwave and stove came in handy for late night snacking...no need to throw out all the doggy bags from all the restaurants we ate at. Room was very spacious but the bathroom was a bit dim. Need better lighting. The laundry machine is very loud! So don't do laundry at night. Heard the ambulances throughout... More

I stayed at Pantages on Saturday night for the spa and stay package. Overall I had a good stay, but wanted to comment on some of the short-falls on the hotel. Firstly, the spa was incredible- I highly recommend it to anyone. The room, however, did not meet my expectations for the price that we paid. I've stayed in much... More

This hotel is brutal with outdated interior and terribly stiff beds. Hotwire somehow classified this as a 4star hotel. Toronto clearly has low standards. Location is good but the rest doesn't redeem itself

I stayed at the hotel last week and it was fantastic, rooms and service was royal. Spacious, clean, huge King bed, very welcoming and friendly astophere. Staff were wonderful, especially Pella at the Front desk and the ladies in bar. Will recommend and looking forward to return.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
