Shangri-La Toronto garners praise for its central location, perfect for guests eager to explore the city's heart. The hotel's comprehensive amenities, including a luxurious spa, pool, and gym, are well-received by guests, as is the vibrant atmosphere accentuated by live music and modern decor. While most guests commend the cleanliness and attentive service, a few note occasional inconsistencies. Room opinions are mixed; some appreciate the spaciousness and comfort, but others mention maintenance issues. Our visits to the Shangri-La Toronto have been consistently outstanding. The service is both warm and refined, with staff going the extra mile to anticipate our needs and add thoughtful, personalized touches.

From the front desk to the valet and concierge, every team member has been exceptionally professional and attentive, handling requests efficiently and with genuine care. The lobby bar is the highlight with live music daily creating the perfect vibe.

The rooms and suites are beautifully appointed, offering all the comforts of home and more —humidifiers, premium toiletries, plush robes, and Nespresso machines. Having stayed several times over the past five weeks, we've experienced a range of rooms and room types -- each with beautiful views, super comfortable beds, excellent housekeeping and a peaceful, quiet ambience. (I presume the rooms are sound-proofed, as I never heard a peep from the hallway.)

We’ll undoubtedly return when we’re back in Toronto next month and highly recommend the Shangri-La for both business and leisure travel.

This was my first time staying at a Shangri-La hotel. I stayed at the Shangri-La Toronto for 3 nights, everything was immaculate from the moment of check-in to check-out. A front desk staff thoroughly explained my Amex benefits package which I booked my stay with. As my room was not quite ready, I took a walk to the near by Berczy Park, to visit the dog (and one cat!) fountain. I soon received a call that my room was ready and I received a complimentary room upgrade!

My luggage was waiting for me in my room. Now came the fun part, to explore the room! The bathroom was massive and had everything I needed in terms of spare toiletries. There was a walk and shower and a deep relaxing tub. The carpet was so soft and luxurious. Was great to walk on after a long day of walking and exploring the city! The King bed was very comfortable and there was ample seating in the room along with a desk. The floor to ceiling windows allowed a great view of the street below and area buildings.

The room was very clean and quiet. I had a great nights sleep each night and woke up feeling rejuvenated. The front desk, restaurant staff, valet, and housekeeping were all extremely friendly and helpful! It was a nice touch that the housekeeping woman knew my name when she knocked and asked if I would like turn down service.

I also scheduled a tour to Niagara Falls with a company recommended by the hotel. The font desk and valet were very helpful in contacting the tour group to confirm pickup, and let me know when the tour driver arrived.

The hotel had a great location, close to the Billy Bishop (free) airport shuttle, Royal Alexandrea Theater, CN Tower, and Nathan Phillips Square (Toronto sign) just to name a few.

If I am ever in Toronto again, I will definitely return to this hotel. I've been raving about it to my friends and family since I got home! I'm "Shanri-La obsessed" now and will hopefully get to explore other Shangri-La locations around the world!

This was my first experience staying at a 5-star hotel and it exceeded my expectations. From the outside the hotel doesn’t look like much but that’s how all the surrounding hotels and buildings look, very industrial and gray. When we drove into the hotel’s entrance we were greeted by the valet staff. They were very friendly and informative and directed us to check-in. When we entered the hotel the aesthetics was giving luxury. The check-in staff was welcoming and friendly and the overall process was smooth and quick without feeling rushed. When we got up to our room, it was a double queen, and oh my gosh. It was an elevated double queen room for sure. The cherry on top was that we got a corner room and the view was amazing with the large windows. The bathroom was large with a double sink, jacuzzi like tub, stand up shower and privacy toilet. It was perfect for a girls trip where you have a large space to get ready and doll up. And the amenities: 24 hr fitness center, pool, hot tub, sauna with changing locker rooms was top notch. The staff there was also so friendly and kind. For a 5-star hotel, I was pleasantly surprised how down-to-earth all the staff I encountered were. The complimentary hot-chocolate bar staff in the lounge and the staff in the bakery/coffee shop were also so kind and friendly. If you are looking for a comfortable, luxury stay in downtown TO, Shangri-La is it.

Overall the hotel felt dated and service levels nowhere near what we are used to at other Shanghai-La properties.

Overall the ambience of the hotel seemed to be “on a budget” with dying fresh flowers and orchids at the lobby that should had been changed a while ago and lots of plastic (!?) plants and flowers through the hotel. This felt cheap and more like an IKEA store than a five star hotel. We have never seen plastic plants/flowers at a Four Seasons or Park Hyatt Hotel.

The room was dated but in overall good shape. Small touches like fresh flowers in the room (Deluxe Suite) could have elevated the experience and the room a lot, but unfortunately not a single plant/flower in the room.

Service in the breakfast restaurant was a mess despite almost no other guests. Took forever to be seated and to have our orders taken. Food quality seemed low and more what you could expect in an airport lounge. In two occasions we were served fresh strawberries that had definitely been cut a few days earlier. The food also tasted very processed and options were limited and not of high quality. Finally we had booked a rate with full breakfast included but apparently that wasn’t the case as we were informed at checkout that we only had a credit of 112 CAD to cover breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids (age 2 and 3). Absolutely ridiculous and not acceptable. We reached an agreement on checkout with the hotel compensation us by deducting an additional 100 CAD from our total bill.

Housekeeping was also hit a miss. The first night no turndown service. The other nights we did get turndown service but it wasn’t coordinated with when we were out of the room for dinner. Also one day we return to the room at 3pm and no cleaning had been done despite we hadn’t been in the room from 9AM. Just not acceptable for a 5 star hotel.

Overall we appreciated the room despite the dated design and we thought the overall value for money for the stay was ok.
Will we return? Most likely not.

Really stunning hotel, we stayed in a suite which was quite beautiful - including 2 bathrooms and a large living room. High quality furnishings/beddings, I was able to get firm pillows immediately which was a nice touch. AC maybe a bit on the fierce side, but it was hot during our trip so better cooler than not. Our room faced onto University Avenue - now its a busy street during the day, less so at night but there was construction work going down the road on which did take place overnight at one stage and there was some noise which might bother some people. If it does I'd ask for a room facing the other side. Either way views of the city on higher floors are great. Hotel location noise aside is really good too - we walked all around downtown and up to mid town easily.

The hotel staff are very attentive - we had booked a taxi to go to a wedding one afternoon which refused to wait for us for more than a couple of minutes so ended up with no transport. The front desk arranged for the hotels own car to take us to the venue as they felt bad for letting the taxi disappear which wasn't really their fault, but was very good of them. Likewise when we checked out they booked an airport transfer for us - and only 2 hours before it was due BA texted to say the flight was 2 hours late. The front desk changed our transfer time to later by the same amount with zero fuss. We didn't eat in the hotel, as we didn't have breakfast included and there are so many eating options in the area. We did use the spa/gym though which are really nice, the pools a bit on the small side if I'm honest but wasn't too busy so enjoyed that too.

We live in Toronto but do a stay-cation here a couple times a year. The accommodations are always top notch - beautiful rooms, views and bathrooms are always 11/10.
This time, I was not even aware I shared my children were coming & they had a cookie decorating kit in the room. When I called to ask for a stool so my youngest could reach the tap, they brought up the cutest step stool that made her stay complete.
The pool and gym facilities are very well maintained and always a highlight of our stays.
But, the best part is the lounge - always great music, food and drinks. We even let the kids stay up late to enjoy the lobby as long as they are on good behaviour.
Shangri-La is by far my favorite hotel and lobby bar in the city & I recommend it to couples, families or individuals who enjoy a luxurious stay in Toronto.

The Shangri-La Toronto is always a fantastic stay with exceptional customer service as well as small touches that make a big difference during your stay such as bottled water (in sustainable packaging) on the bedside table (replaced daily) and many complimentary toiletry items that are often forgotten during travel such as razor and shave cream, comb, or makeup remover pads among many others. The rooms are always pristine and clean. The employees take pride in their work and although always available for anything you need they are also always invisibly ensuring all rooms are always fully stocked and tidied to ensure the utmost quality experience during your stay. I always stay here for my business travel and have always had a very pleasant stay.

Before we arrived I had questions for the concierge and he got back to me promptly and was very helpful . I started with high expectations and they were exceeded. From the moment we arrived I knew we had picked the right hotel. Service is first class, but unpretentious. The room we had was spacious and very nice with amenities in the bathroom that exceeded expectations and housekeeping always did a great job. The high tea was spectacular. The chef made sumptuous individual items with fabulous blending of flavors and everything looked beautiful as well. The breakfasts were very tasty with both health conscious and more robust options. Room service was also prompt and good. This is now my go to hotel in Toronto. I know this sounds too good to be true, but I am a discerning traveler and I was truely impressed.

We stayed at the Shangri - La Toronto with our toddler son, and had an amazing experience!

When we arrived at the hotel the valet was prompt and efficient and was able to help us with the car and our bags swiftly. The check in process was just as quick and easy. The concierge provided us with all the necessary information we would need about the hotel amenities, including child care services. We felt thoroughly informed and did not have to wait to be taken to our room. We really appreciated the time Dean took to explain everything about to hotel and downtown Toronto. He really made sure we had everything we needed for our staycation.

Once we arrived to our room, it was clean, spacious, and modern. The room included everything we would need - a crib, coffee and tea, mini fridge, etc. Turn down service was also provided at the end of the night and the room looked spotless once we returned that night after dinner. The view of the room was amazing with a lot of natural sunlight in the room.

The hotel was very accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed to stay at the hotel with a child. The overall ambience of the hotel is very inviting, comfortable, and luxurious. One of the best hotels we have stayed at in Toronto.

The lounge area is a very nice spot to hang out, enjoy a drink by the fire place, while listening to the live music provided. We also stopped by the pool, sauna and hot tub in the hotel and everything exceeded our expectations. It was just so relaxing to be able to hang out in your personal cabana and watch the World Cup soccer games.

Overall, we will definitely be returning to the hotel. It was one of the best experiences we have had. The staff at Shangri - La went above and beyond for us, especially Dean Voon who assisted us throughout our stay. Thank you!

From the moment we arrived at Shangri-La Toronto Hotel, the level of hospitality was outstanding. The attention to detail was remarkable, and the staff, including Dean Voon, went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our celebration was perfect.

The room was not only luxurious but also adorned with thoughtful touches that added a personal touch to our stay. The stunning views from our room enhanced the overall experience, creating a romantic ambiance.

The dining experience at the hotel exceeded our expectations. The restaurant offered a delectable array of dishes, and the service was impeccable. It was evident that the culinary team paid careful attention to quality and presentation.

The amenities, from the spa to the fitness center, were top-notch, providing us with relaxation and recreation options during our stay. The hotel's central location also made it convenient for us to explore the city.

Overall, Shangri-La Toronto Hotel provided us with an unforgettable anniversary experience. I am grateful for the exceptional service, and I would undoubtedly choose this hotel for future special occasions.

They don't advertise as such; however, I'm hypersensitive and allergic myself, and found everything satisfactory. Towels and linens were gently (hardly detectably) fragranced. No artificial air fresheners in the room . The bath soap and shampoo were fragranced , so bring your own.
