My husband and I stayed here for one night in April. We were in town to see a theatre show and wanted something other than the standard hotel room. We both agreed that Les Amis was a very good choice. It is close to the downtown area and subway and yet, on a quiet and residential street. Unfortunately, we were...

A big grocery store is 200m to the East on Carlton. The subway is 75m to the West, which has all night service along College Ave., meaning you can easily get to all the clubs and back, any time. My room on the third floor, had a skylight and private washroom which was small, but OK. For the price, it...

Our next place was here. The location was great, we no need much time on walking, just in a 10 minutes walking to entrance. The street was extremely quiet, surrounding parking made this place greater. The owners as well as staffs here were very helpful and friendly. Highly appreciated

I was in Toronto for the Waterfront Marathon on October 20th 2013. I was very lucky to choose this place. It has an optimal location in the downtown area and close to the starting and finishing area for the marathon, I only needed to walk 10 minutes or so. The street is very quiet, there is a parking lot just...

I stayed here after staying in a big hotel for a work-related conference. The street the house is on is fairly quiet if busy, and is right nearby some small restaurants and a Loblaw's grocery. I also really appreciated the cost, which was much less than the hotels in the area. It was a nice change, though there were some...

I stayed at Les Amis for 2 weeks while I was was in Toronto on a research trip. Couldn't have found a better place. The b&b is in a great location with easy access to downtown Toronto. My room was cosy, clean and very comfortable with lovely artistic touches. It was also a nice quiet place for me to do...

We stayed here last week during the film festival and met some wonderful people, with whom we chatted around the breakfast table each morning. The location of the B&B is fantastic - right off of Yonge, around 8 minutes walking from Dundas Square. You could not ask for a better location for exploration during the day and a quiet retreat...

Our stay at B&B Les Amis was very joyful. We appreciated the delicious breakfast and the good conversations with the host. The location of this B&B is perfect, very close to the main attractions of Toronto. The rooms are clean, simple and have a personal touch with the original photo's by the hand of Paul-Antoinne. We recommend Les Amis to...

We greatly enjoyed our stay -- the location is excellent, with many downtown Toronto attractions within walking distance and nearby subway stops. Paul-Antoine's breakfasts were excellent, and his conversation was a pleasure. He has a detailed knowledge of the city and has also created useful, detailed maps of restaurants, bars, museums etc.The cozy row house, breakfast conversations with two parties...

I stayed at Les Amis B&B a few weeks ago while on business in Toronto. This B&B is very centrally located on a quiet street and this was very convenient. Breakfast was copious and the atmosphere around the breakfast table was friendly. The B&B welcomes Francophones who are more comfortable with French and also English speakers. Great food, warm welcome...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.

“Third floor was a bit off putting at first and worth the walk. Only two rooms there both wit he suite baths. Second floor has two rooms that share a good sized bath. The other guests whose rooms faced the street mentioned hearing commotion when the bars on Yong st closed. I am a sound sleeper who did not share this experience.”
