I've stayed at One King twice this year. I orginally booked because the price was reasonable and the location was great. After staying there in April I returned because I was so impressed with the hotel. It is very well kept and clean. Both of my rooms had great views of the CN tower and city. The beds are comfortable, more on the firm side, which I prefer. I bought food and used the kitchenette every day for breakfast. Front desk and the bell staff are courteous and attentive. I found all the staff, regardless of if they were helping me, to be exceptionally kind. Whenever I was in the elevator with someone they would smile, greet me and strike up a conversation. The location is a short walk to the arena, train station, and there are so many great restaurants within minutes of the hotel. I loved going to the Daily Ritual Cafe (which is attached to the hotel) in the morning, grabbing a coffee and walking around the corner to Berczy park to people watching. Overall it's just solid hotel with great staff. I look forward to my next stay.…
We stayed here for 3 nights... from the initial booking until we checked out the staff were extremely helpful... from questions we had before we arrived to explaining everything to us when we arrived in simple terms. The rooms were beautiful.. we had a kitchen in ours which was really handy. We ate in the hotel one of the nights. Great food and again great staff! I would definitely book here again
I was at the hotel for six days, the service was excellent, upon our arrival and upon departure we received excellent service from ###Matthew, he was really helpful and helped a lot with all the luggage and gave us perfect service from him
We stayed for 5 nights and it was great the staff was amazing especially Matthew, he was very helpful and always cheerful. Whenever we needed help or had a question Matthew helped us greatly. For sure will be returning. Also the food was really good.
We chose this hotel because of the location, we have stayed in this part of town before and know how convenient it is. The price was approx £200 per night for a suite. Pros: * Location - easy walk to most places we wanted to be. * Nice powerful shower * Room was clean, comfortable and a good size (after asking to move room) * Room was equipped with a fridge, iron, ironing board, microwave, dishwasher etc. Cons: * The 1st room we were placed in was small and dingy. We were moved to the same grade room but a much larger version. * Rooms are in need of upgrading. They aren't luxury. Fixtures need replacing now as they are tired and some broken. * Bathroom is small considering the size of the rest of the room! * Attention to detail is lacking for a 4* hotel - no robes?! This hotel markets as a luxury hotel, which it is not. Although the rooms were clean and comfortable, it just isn't luxurious. The location is excellent and with some room upgrades the hotel would be much more appealing (mainly the bathroom and kitchen areas of the suites). Would possibly stay again but would explore other options too. …
We attempted to rent a room at the set price of an event at this hotel, but when attempting to pay were told that this event had no special room rate was told over $700. We booked a room a couple blocks away instead. We arrive to event held at this hotel and though we have paid and tickets with us, the hotel staff refused to allow us to be seated as we were not on the seating plan. There were seats with name ´guest ´and clearly were ours as it was under our group name, but hotel staff had few brain cells to figure this out. It seemed hotel staff were more focused on policing people and the food than the guest experience I can assure you! Kids got extra salads and the supervisor staff were pointing at the kids and got upset arguing in the gala room. The event organizer attempted to resolve the seating issue but the hotel staff again asked us to leave the gala room. We then had our meal bracelets cut off our wrists and publicly in front of all guests. We were ushered out of gala room multiple times by hotel staff in front of other guests. It was embarrassing! We finally sat at the table per the event organizer, regardless of the hotel staff disapproving. During dinner another couple a table over was interrogated in the same manner however was not asked to leave. This hotel has zero regard for common decency and though they apologized to us after seeing many empty paid seats unoccupied during dinner, they should never had treated us like that! Take dinner numbers and charge organizer, don’t leave the guests publicly embarrassed and humiliated! I bet they weigh each dish before it’s served so you don’t get a sliver of a carrot more than intended. Just disgusting. Kids meals…. It was not a burger! Two meatballs on teeny tiny slider buns. Kitchen gave the kids the extra Caesar salads that were already made for event and I am glad no one took them back cause I would have definitely said something! It definitely looked like the supervisors were upset about it. Can’t run a luxury hotel worrying about little things like that definitely comes off stingy and cheap! Poor execution of event, no problem solving skills. Not poor problem solving skills, ZERO problem solving skills. Glad we didn’t stay here and wouldn’t attend another event here!…
My experience at this hotel was amazing all the staff members were super helpful! Shout out to Matthew for helping me out with all my things. Thank you. The view and the room was beautiful what an amazing stay and the food was great the concierge staff members were also really hopeful I appreciate the staff for the wonderful experience
I really enjoyed everything about the hotel. Staff were very lovely and helpful. I just wanted to appreciate Mathew for his services. He did such an amazing job and hope to see him again! Thank you all!
Room was nice and tea and coffee supplied but they could not supply cows/fresh milk. I had to go out at 9pm in the evening looking for a store where I could buy some milk so I could have a proper tea and coffee. Often it’s the little details that let a place down. You would think a 4 star hotel could find a jug of milk when you’re paying hundreds of dollars to stay there. First and last visit.
