We recently stayed at the Gladstone Hotel, due to it's proximity to an event we were attending. What we found out is that we didn't need to even leave the hotel, it is it's own event....Every room is designed and themed by a local artesian, very cool how they reclaimed this old building and brought it back to life. It...

I booked a couple of nights at Gladstone at the occasion of an event I was organizing for my job. We invited 12 persons enjoying Toronto during Pride/Digital Dreams week end. The contact with Gladstone team was really nice at first. They helped us to organize the best venue for our guests. As for the nights we spent there, rooms...

My husband and I went on a 5 day road trip and stayed 2 nights at the Gladstone Hotel which we found through the NY Times "36 Hours in Toronto" It is a charming boutique hotel in a neighborhood that we would never have found if not for that article. The staff was extremely helpful, the walls are filled with...

Absolutely delightful time this weekend at the Gladstone with friends. We reviewed rooms online and each picked out a unique and beautifully decorated abode. The staff was extremely helpful with our bags when we arrived (parking was in a public lot down the street). We were early and got helpful directions to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Check in was...

Was here last year for an art show with my girlfriend. We had a lot of friends staying in the hotel at the same time so we were able to bounce around and check out all the different styles of the rooms. Awesome. The elevator is also one of the coolest I have experienced yet. Bar was OK but expensive....

Charming vintage building, a hotel brilliantly refurbished, clean, cozy and great food. The staff was SUPER nice and SUPER courteous. Couldn't ask for better. Loved the old style elevator that is hand cranked by the staff. Enjoyed a great breakfast the next day and the bar is a fun place at night for a drink with friends.

The Gladstone is an interesting arts hotel in a neighborhood bustling with cafes, restaurants, and shops. Just around the corner, there is a terrific grocery store, Fresh, if you want to buy fresh fruit and veggies. Each of the rooms is individually decorated by an artist, so there are no two rooms alike. The rooms are on the small side,...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Gladstone while in Toronto for a couple of nights and to see a concert and were greeted by a very helpful and friendly staff member whom did much to make us feel comfortable. The scene is a loud one though so be prepared, both on the eyes and the ears, but it was...

We booked the Echame Flores for our wedding night, which was a gorgeous little room with rich red wallpaper and a mock fireplace with a tv instead of an actual fire pit. We thought it would be fairly noisy but it was actually quite quiet and peaceful! We checked in pretty late at night, but the concierge was just as...

We stayed 2 nights and were cautioned ahead of time that the old building could be noisy. Although it was a weekend we did not find the noise to be a large problem and slept well. The art was really interesting...... The staff went out of their way to help whenever asked, and were very informative and knowledgeable as to...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
