Cheap rate for a hotel stay which is close to all entertainment. However, for cleanliness it gets a 2 / 10. Sure the lobby looks decent, the room well at first glance was ok until we walked around and noticed was the condom wrapper on the floor beside the bed ( in plain sight, so clearly the room was not...

We arrived to find our booked room wasn't the right one - we were given a smoking room, with a suspicious stain on the floor. We were swapped the next night, but it was still smelly and dirty. Poor location - not really downtown - just outside anything convenient, and rather dodgy area. The only thing that saves this from...

Hotel was fine but the gent from the reception one afro-canadian bold, doesnt know how to smile or be friendly. Is just too serious and up to some point the way he talks feels like disrespectful. I think he really dont likes his job. Having said that, the rest of the staff was friendly and polite.

We arrived and saw no place to pull off the street to register so I made the block. Within 100 yards of the back of the hotel there is a free medical clinic and the streets were lined with over 100 homeless, mentally ill or drug depedants folks and one 6 foot tall cross dresser soliciting business. As we completed...

Being realisitic, there will always be faults of some sorts at properties of this scale, price-range and age. I expected those, and when coupled with the price paid, I ended up sufficiently impressed that I could ignore them. There were marks on some of the furnishings, scuffs to the wallpaper and the carpet in my room had certainly seen some...

The rooms were satisfactory; the price I paid was 70$ a night. The noise level was very high, the corridors were narrow and the rooms were small. Consequently, I could hear talking and other noises constantly. Also, the heater was inoperable. In a nutshell, it was cold and loud. I wrote a letter to the manager, he apologized and nothing...

If you are looking for a good value downtown hotel in Toronto this hotel is well worth considering. It is only five minutes walk from Ryerson University and a couple more from Dundas Square Although the hotel could do with a bit of tidying up on the decoration, the en-suite rooms are clean with TV, free WiFi and coffee making...

We stayed for 4 nights in march. The hotel is a bit run down and rooms are clean but dated and basic, in saying that, I would stay again. The cost was reasonable and location great, a 10 min walk to the Eaton Centre and Yonge St! Breakfast was great, bagels, toast, cereal and tea and coffee.

We paid about $100 per night while prices next door were $45 per night. The location is within 30 minutes of the major attractions. No parking at the hotel. We had to pay $20 per day to park a block away and carry our luggage. The hotel appears nice and clean when you walk in the front door. However, our...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
