"Reasonable" is a good word to describe this hotel and its price. We would be willing to stay there again sometime. While it is an older motel, and near (but not on) a busy road (Kingston), the rooms are reasonably maintained, clean, quiet, and seemingly safe. The parking lot shows signs of age, but it is also clean and in...

I'm giving it 5★ because they deserve! The guy at the desk was very friendly and honest. Total new management and they have changed and renovated whole motel what I saw from outside and including my room of course. I was there for 1 night from Montreal and price was also great. There wasn't any problem in my room and...

Found A jewel among all hotels in Toronto, nice bigger room, very clean, fine furnitures, and out of noisy traffic. Easy access to highway 401 and Garden express way. Arrived Toronto in the morning from Buffalo, went through lake shore visiting CN tower, Kensington market and Chinatown. After all the hassles of fighting traffic, it was very nice to settle...

So let me just start by saying we were really exited for our first family trip with our 8-month old son! When we arrived, we were satisfied with the room. It was clean, a little dated but with the price, you can't ask for more. When we wanted to leave for diner, my husband locked the door and gave it...

I was a witness to this event, therefore I can see several inaccuracies in the review. I have been working in Grand Motel for about 10 years and in that time we have not had problems with any of the locks in the motel prior to this case. I was one of the staff flagged down and observed how your...

I expected more after reading the other reviews. Everything looked dated and past its prime. On the plus side it was clean. But it was a very hot night. We turned on the air conditioner and all through the night it rattled and squealed. A choice between sweat all night or too noisy to sleep. A person shouldn't wake up...

Dear Anna, Thank you very much for your review. It is always helpful. We work hard to reach our guest's satisfaction. You were staying in room #17 which is upgraded with a flat screen digital TV, fridge, microwave, free high speed WI-FI. A/C in this room still works perfectly. It controls by the thermostat in the wall. If our guests...

The room was clean and was not outdated. The room had multiple locks which made it seem more secure and had a nice screen door to get some fresh air. The air conditioning and free wifi was a huge plus. Definitely a good stay for the price. Just be aware that it isn't actually in Toronto but instead about a...

I find that this motel has the best price to quality ratio in the city, which is what I discovered after comparing prices online and actually looking at places. The room was very clean and warm, had a good size TV, and the bed was comfortable. It also has a vintage American motel look that's unique these days. Overall, I...

Staying in Scarborough

Neighbourhood Profile
Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.
