Detailed Reviews
If you ask me, this hotel rates well above the two stars in most travel sites. It’s on a busy street but the rooms are quiet, warm and comfortable. Plenty of lighting in our room. Plenty of plugs for all the chargers and other electronic doodads we travel with these days. Good water pressure and an efficient bathroom fan. Well located for a range of shopping and dining offerings.
I’m guessing the lack of a pool is a big reason for the two stars. But service is top notch and deserves praise. Two weeks ago, we were scheduled to spend a night or two there. But I tested positive for Covid the night before our departure. A call to the front desk explaining the situation got our reservation fully refunded. When I booked again, I mentioned we had limited mobility issues and asked for a room near the stairs to the second floor. (No elevator, so another likely strike on the ratings front, but it’s just two stories.) When we arrived, we were upgraded to a first-floor room with sofa just three doors from an outside entry.
The breakfast is what you’d expect from a chain hotel. But it was frequently refreshed and there were more than enough hot and cold items to fill my belly.
A good, quiet, clean room. Better-than-average customer service. Competitive rates. If you’re in Windsor, keep this place in mind.

Accommodation including breakfast, which was perfect for us, passing through on our way to Chicago.
Courteous and attentive staff, having difficulty with our English, which was appreciated.
Very clean room and super comfortable bed, as well as small fridge, microwave and good-sized bathroom, with free parking.
Very satisfying breakfast, so no need to run to a restaurant in the morning and be able to hit the road very early.
The only disappointment was that the swimming pool and spa were not functional, a shame, because this would have been appreciated after an 11-hour drive, to relax, why the price, I found it high. There could have been a reduction.
The restaurants are close by car, or on foot, a bit far anyway.
I recommend it without hesitation, it was a relaxing night.

Stayed for the weekend with family for kids swim competition. Weekend was fully booked with swimmers.
Everything was surprisingly good for the price, no complaints at all. Breakfast with sausage and eggs was good enough; small pool and room all OK. Convenient location 10 mins to all major things around. Enough parking even with full occupancy. No elevator to 2nd floor but stairs are just a few steps, no problems. Booked again for next trip in April.

So we waited in the lobby for about 40 mins waiting for our room to be cleaned.
Reservation said checkin at 3 pm we got here just after 4:15pm. Place looks a little worn out and in need of a facelift but certainly will do for an overnight stay.
Pool, workout room, hot tub etc look like they e been closed for an extended period of time but I got an email yesterday telling us they were closed and the price reflects the lack of pool and gym area… of course it was sent after I accepted the reservation based upon my search criteria for amenities.
Bait and switch imo, important details were excluded until after we made the decision and too late so we didn’t have time to search another place with all the stuff we wanted. This is the basis for my lower than normal rating…
Room was clean though the dresser drawers are all damaged and hanging on loosely.
Coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge are all clean as well. Towels are plentiful and bright white. Linens look clean as well.
Okay place but could be so much better with a facelift and some more staff.

We checked in and had great service until the night shift. We were told the pool was open until 11pm and we were kicked out at 10:06pm. The sign said 11pm. The front desk was extremely rude to us and said that we were told my a new employee earlier that afternoon the wrong information. But the sign says 11pm. Our room was right near reception where we can hear a large group drinking in the eating area and yet our group was kicked out because there is a swim team that needs to be up at 5am. I would not recommend saying at this hotel for the way we were treated by the front desk. She should not be working in customer service and I think her boss would like to know that she was online shopping every time we walked by. I get people have different schedules when staying at a hotel but I’m sure we will likely be woken up by the swim team when they get their breakfast. At the end of the day, rules are in place for a reason. But front reception night shift is awful and we will never stay again!

This experience at this comfort suites has made me decide that I will NEVER stay at a Comfort Suites again. Even though they are owner operated, there should be some sort of standard among all the chain. When I brought my concerns to the Head Office, they simply put me in contact with the local hotel who basically said 'sorry' you had a bad experience. No effort to offer another stay or additional bonus points on our membership card. The staff are exceptionally friendly, but they cannot help that the hotel owner had decided to fix things only when they break....and naturally that means that the customer get inconvenienced. Who rents a hotel room without knowing that everything is in working order? Between the response from Head Office and the response from the local hotel, although we travel a lot, we will never stay at any of the Comfort (or any of their sister hotels) again!

Thank-you for your comments. Our records indicate that the air conditioning in your room was not working properly when you arrived back to the hotel in the evening and that we were able to move you to a room which the air conditioning worked better. We also had our maintenance employee fix the air conditioner in that room the very next day. I apologize and understand that moving rooms is never a convenient option but we felt that was the best option to ensure you had a comfortable stay at the time. I am disappointed that you did not enjoy our free full hot breakfast. Most of our guests enjoy and look forward to having this provided during their stay. Our records indicate that the air conditioning unit was the only item broken in your guest room. If you would like to discuss your concerns further please contact me directly. Thank-you, Beth Lewis cis@cogeco.net

Hotel is out of date and there were three bugs crawling on the very dirty carpet upon entering the room. The kiddie pool has no warning but has been re-coated in an incredibly slick surface. Our two year old slipped and cracked her head off the edge after her first step into the kiddie pool. Hotel staff are generally pleasant, breakfast is pretty good (especially for free), but overall the hotel is extremely out of date. While it appears they try to keep it clean, the carpets, tubs, caulking etc are simply too old and need to be replaced. Not a bad budget hotel.

Pre booked this room a few days in advance as we needed a stop over on route to usa overnight.
When we arrived at midnight..we were shocked to find used beer bottles everywhere. ..bed looked sat on and carpet dirty. We wanted to leave but our daughter was asleep. We obviously asked for another room. The front desk person didn't sound surprised when we told her about it. ? Conmon occurence maybe that staff liked toi celebrate in un occupied rooms ?
Anyway..the room we got looked not a whole lot different except no beer bottles. ..but we were exhausted and just wanted to go to bed.
The bed seemed dusty and sheets smelled. I did tell the staff a few days ago when I booked that my daughter has asthma and to guarantee the room is non smoking and cleaned well...instead I got the opposite. My daughter had an asthma attack because of the uncleanliness..good thing I had all her meds or else I woukd have had to bring her to hospital !
On top of that...the housekeeping kept bothering us as early as 9 am in the morning wanting to clean the room ! At one point pushed the door open when it was ajar as my hubby quickly went out to get ice and left door ajar accidentally. You wpuld tgink housekeeping would respect our privacy and knock first...instead they just liberally opened it !
Scared the crap out of me. Then they knocked again at 10 then 11...am...I was so fed up and upset at this hotel..you would think front desk would have the courtesy to tell housekeeping we arrived late the day before and had to switch rooms because of them.
DO NOT STAY HERE. ..! We paid over 120 bucks for this one night and this is what we got!
The management should seriously review their policies and accommodations ...and the health hazards their premises present !

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for the first time in December. We have been to Windsor many times and have always stayed at other hotels but thought we would give this one a try. Hmmm. We were greeted by the most miserable 20 yr old at the front desk. She never once made eye contact, nor did she smile, at anyone. Not a good start. We get to our room, no elevators, which is fine, the room was ok, although did not have a fresh smell at all. The first thing I always do it hang up my clothes. I open the closet only to find an orange on the floor. I take it out to the cleaner in the hallway and tell her, she sort of laughs and takes it from me. We had to leave soon after to attend the concert we had come to Windsor to see. Got home late in the morning Im packing up and getting ready and notice that there are about 10 potato chips between the stand that they have the fridge on and the dresser! on further inspection I notice a dirty sock behind the dresser, which looks like it's been there for a while. On closer inspection I notice that there is no way that the carpet had been vacuumed as there were litlle specs and crumbs all over the carpet. Gross. I sent an e-mail when i got home, to Comfort Inn and Suites, and they replied immdiately, saying how sorry they were and that they would forward the email to the Hotel so they could respond, since they are owned individually. I was to let them know if I had not heard a response within 72 hours. Well here we are 96 hours later and no response from the Huron Church Road Comfort Inn. Very obviously concerned about customer service !!! Will never stay again and will advise anyone else to avoid it as well if this is how they treat paying customers. I must say, I was annoyed at the state of the room, but not hearing back from the Hotel has be angry !

This place is like a dirty motel that hasn’t been updated since the 1970s! Dirty carpets, broken doors, vinyl counters - it’s gross!
