My wife and I traveled to Eastern Canada as an anniversary gift to each other. We booked the Water Suites based on reviews read on Trip Advisor. We are so glad we did.

We were impressed to receive a phone call from the manager Fred the night before we were to arrive. Fred introduced himself and we were able to set up a time we would arrive in Charlottetown so Fred could meet us and show us our suite. that also provided us with his number in case we had a change in arrival time , or questions afterwords.

We finally arrived to see that the Water Suites is located in the heart of downtown Charlottetown so its the best location for walking to all the stores, restaurants and local sights.

When Fred opened the door to our suite, both our mouths dropped in amazement to see the most beautiful high ceiling suite, retaining its historic quality with a total of 7 high windows letting in the sunshine into the room. It felt historic and luxurious.

A well laid out kitchenette with plates, cutlery and glasses were there for our use. There was also more than enough coffee pods for the coffee maker than the 3 nights we were booked in for. We both smiled after opening up one of the kitchen drawers, because we had been carrying along a bottle of wine that we could not open for several days , not being able to open it because it was corked. The drawer we opened contained a bottle opener/corkscrew for just that occasion.... and we used it :)

The bathroom was huge and also decorated with its historic theme complemented with trendy fixtures. The shower was spot on for heat and water flow.

The rooms were all immaculate, fresh and clean. We ended up enjoying more time in the room than anticipated, because of its relaxing atmosphere and charm.

Fred took his time and explained all the details about the room and provided us with information about dining in the area, car parking , and some of the local places to see in Charlottetown.

Two of our meals ended up in the same building complex. Water Street Fish and Chips was one door to our right for a nice dinner, and Linda's Coffee Shop and Restaurant was one door to our right for our next day breakfast. Both places offered a tasty meal.

Thank you Water Suites for a short but lovely stay. We will choose you again for our next stay in Charlottetown and recommend this for any travelers wanting to stay in the downtown area of Charlottetown.

If you are travelling to Charlottetown, PEI I would highly recommend staying at Water Suites at the corner of Water Street and Queen Street. The rooms are lovely, tastefully decorated, spacious, clean (so clean) and bright. Every room has hardwood floors, large windows. My room even had an amazingly comfortable king size bed.
This hotel is across the street from the Harbour - lovely to watch the cruise ships come and go; and close to all the excellent shopping, restaurants and key sites on Queen Street.
The proprietors take pride in this restored building and it shows. As a heritage building thee is no elevator but only two flights of stairs and I completely did not mind.
I was in town for a conference at the Delta right across the street. So convenient and better because I had the kitchenette.
I look forward to staying at the Water Suites again next time I'm in town.

We booked the Water Suites in Charlottetown (via Booking.com) as the few reviews I found looked OK. The owner (Fred) agreed in an email to meet us in front of the building at on the day or our booking.
We didn't know what Fred looked like and he did not provide any cell phone information in his emails. We arrived early and waited by the front door (in anticipation of a friendly owner ready to welcome us). We noticed a couple go into the building but they did not acknowledge us so we assumed they were simply other renters of one of the units. No effort was made by them to acknowledge us.
After waiting for more than 40 minutes, we approached a lady who was entering the locked building. It turns out that she was Fred's wife. While lecturing us, (that we should have stopped Fred earlier on the street who knew?) she led us up 2 flights of steep steps (note: no elevator) to meet him. Rather than focussing on helping us to get settled into the rental property, Fred falsely stated that we told him we would arrive at midnight. Then, they both asked a number of accusatory style questions such as; “Why didn't YOU stop us earlier on the street, why didn't YOU call us earlier?” etc. Wow, the rant from them went on and on.
When I stated that I was not comfortable with all their accusations and everything was our fault, Fred became enraged and led us out of building and on to the street. He advised that we would not be staying there.
With the PEI Seafood Festival in town, most accommodations were fully booked so we needed to find another rental to stay for our 2 nights in Charlottetown.

Later through discussions with Booking.com we found out that Fred was providing them with false information regarding our credit card, booking information, arrival time, etc. Fortunately, they were able to cancel the reservation and were able to find us another place to stay.
Our advice simply stay away from this rental property and especially the owner and his wife. They are both rude, dishonest and do not understand how to offer quality customer service to travellers. Look elsewhere for accommodations.

Large, well appointed suite. Beautifully renovated. Wonderful location. Right in the heart of waterfront Charlottetown. Parking is a bit of an issue but Fred will find you a spot. He will also tell you the best places to eat (Water Prince Corner Shop for dinner but make a reservation, and Linda's coffee shop for breakfast).

This hotel is sort of a cross between a hotel and an air B&B. The room we stayed in was very large and very clean. Everything is well maintained and in perfect condition. There are only 4 or so rooms so there isn't a lobby. The man named Fred who helped us settle in was very polite and friendly. He made sure we knew how everything worked in the room. We really liked that the room had a kitchenette which gave us the option of cooking lunch one day. The location is also one of the best in the city! The only downside is you do have to go up at least one if not two flights of stairs to get to the rooms. Overall I would for sure recommend this place!!

Though it's a long steep staircase to the third floor it's worth the climb. Room was large well appointed and the huge windows give a great view of the streets. Can't beat the location. 5 minute walk to everything Charlottetown has to offer. The room and hallways were very clean! Fred was very friendly helpful. Our reservation had a mix up but he got everything straighten out very quickly. I would definitely stay here again.
