Chose this one as it was close to where i was going to be working for the week. About a 10 minute walk from the town centre, so location was good. It was undergoing a few refurbishments and some of the decor was in need of work. That said, i couldn't fault the staff who were friendly and very helpful, especially the housekeeping who probably weren't used to a guest staying the whole week. Breakfast was okay, but was of the style they call Continental, but is just cereals, pastries, yoghurt and the like. Good enough, but not European Continental. TV had plenty of channels to watch, but the remote control took a bit of time to figure out.

I checked in and went to my room, it was really terrible, it was old and not clean, there was a bad smell. I always say that I don’t care what a place looks like as long as it is clean, I ended up turning my keys in and leaving. The photos on the website make it look pretty good, but my room looked nothing like those photos.

This place is way out of date. I arrived to my room and did not want to take off my shoes. The carpet was full of stains. The decor hasn’t been changed since the 80s I think. The smell was a combo of week and musty basement. The beds were lumpy with cotton balls. The list goes on. I immediate went to the desk and said ‘I cannot stay here, it’s disgusting.’ They couldn’t refund me but they moved us to a more tolerable room that did not have carpet. The whole place feels like a horror movie.

Stated this property on a recent motorcycle trip. We arrived to this property after having stayed here previously when it was under the Best western brand. Sadly, it is no longer. To be fair, we did get a room with three double beds. The room was clean, very dated, and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, this property is in dire need of a refurbished/refresh. My list would be endless. I will attach some pictures. Also, very disappointing was the included breakfast. A very limited selection of breakfast items, including bread, bagels, a few muffins. And some small boxes of cereal. Fortunately, the coffee was hot and good. But that’s about where it ends. For the amount of money we spent for the night overall, it was a very disappointing stay.

Filth hotel, toilet has urine down the sides, bathroom floors are not clean and full of hairs. The carpets are scary dirty and stained. The fan noise kept me awake all night . I felt itchy after sleeping in the bed.

This property was the worst I’ve ever seen. It’s a construction zone, yellow tape and dumpsters everywhere on one side of the road, and on the convention side one side of the hallway was closed off with orange drop sheets clearly under construction. We were first placed on the convention centre side; walked into our room which had an awful smell. I went back to the main lobby, and the accommodated a room switch to a brighter less smelly room, although there was a window air conditioner which seemed to be battling with the heated vent system. Our door looked like it had been kicked in before, handle was loose, door was loose/didn’t appear to close properly, walls were dented, walls were dirty, there was a half empty bag of chips in the room we later found and a towel under the bed we found in the morning which clearly shows it wasn’t cleaned properly and just felt absolutely disgusting as soon as we entered anyway. I contacted Expedia about the possibility of a refund and they said the room was non-refundable - which of course because it was the same day so why would they give a refund. The room was not a non refundable room when I booked so I only assume it’s bc it was the day of the booking. The pool had a literal brown ring around the whole thing, it was dark and dreary. When we were checking out, a family had the same room we initially had and I overheard them say one of them was sick all night - it’s no wonder.

We were camping at the national park for a few days and on the last day of our trip there was torrential downpour and thunderstorm warnings so we decided to pack up and get a hotel in Charlottetown for our final night in PEI. Turns out it would have been better to sleep outside in the pouring rain in our tent than stay at the Charlottetown Inn and Conference Centre. First off, as soon as you pull up the building looks dilapidated and it’s not much better once you go in. We grabbed our bags and checked in and were told our room was in a building across the street. So, we had to pack everything back in our car in the rain and go across the street. Lots of sketchy people hanging around the building. As soon as you enter the building it smells like mold and cigarettes with stains everywhere. The room was even worse. There was a window ac unit cranked when we walked in so the room was freezing. The unit didn’t fit in the window fully so the curtains were shoved into the crevices around it to stop rain and bugs from coming into the room. There were so many stains, mold, ripped wallpaper and handprints all over the walls of our room. I felt dirty just standing in there. I also found a weird blue stain on one of the towels in our bathroom. I decided to use the gym which is in the main building, so that meant I had to cross the street in the rain to use it. The gym looks like it was nice at one point and just hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. It’s also in the same area as the pool which also looked like no amount of chlorine could clean. The change room/bathroom was nasty. The toilet stalls had weird peep holes so you could look into the stall next to you. Apparently there is an underground tunnel that connects the buildings but when I asked a staff member if I could use it he said no, no, no. We decided we really didn’t want to hang around so we went out to dinner and then a pub to kill some time. When we got back to our room shortly after midnight, we found bloodstains on our sheets that were hidden by the pillows. We luckily had 2 beds in our room so I just slept in the other one since it was so late at night. The next morning we got up early and packed our car. We saw a lady smoking out of a crack pipe in the parking lot which was a fitting conclusion to our stay. I mentioned the blood on our sheets as we checked out and the front staff was helpful and offered a 20% discount on our room. You can tell they are trying to do the best they can and probably have to deal with many similar complaints. However, we also had to talk to the the head of housekeeping and instead of apologizing or being embarrassed about the situation, she gave us attitude and said she had to go check even though I showed pictures of the blood stains. The only good thing is the location is within walking distance to downtown which is great since you won’t want to spend much time at the hotel. The hotel is apparently renovating so hopefully they can turn things around and maintain the property better moving forward.

I BEG OF YOU. DO NOT STAY HERE. IT IS GRIM. My partner and I have spent the last 2.5 weeks travelling around Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. This hotel was booked as part of our travelling package. We had stayed in a number of various hotels, all displaying high standards of cleanliness and service to their guests. HOWEVER, the Charlottetown Inn fell way below the standards of the other accommodations provided in numerous ways.  1. When we arrived we felt the staff on the front desk did not make us feel as welcome as the other places. They looked nervous and not keen to speak to people, perhaps not trained properly? 2. The pool facilities / changing rooms were run down, dirty and showing disrepair and neglect throughout. Think the changing rooms from the 1970s film Carrie, like that but worse. Also, is a 10ft deep pool allowed, is that even safe?! 3. On return to the room provided, we encountered a determined looking one-legged man carrying a dog down the corridor storming passed us; he didn't act like a guest.  4. In the room itself, it smelt of damp/must, there were waterstains and general uncleanness; after walking around the room without shoes not only did I feel dampness I found a toenail on my sock, indicating the room was not cleaned properly. Norman Bates did a better job of cleaning up after himself in his motel. 5. When we left the building we noticed "local" people loitering by the hotel, unsure of whether they were being accommodated by the hotel as well. On our return from a lovely evening in Charlottetown we did not feel safe or secure when walking back into our room.  6. There was constant noise during the night, banging doors, people shouting, particularly next door to us, lasting through the night. We addressed this to the front desk in the morning and they asked if we complained at the time the noise was happening(!) - as we hadn't, they seemed to dismiss our complaint. Considering guests have to sign an invoice agreeing to be quiet or face a $200 fine, the colleague on the front desk is probably unlikely to challenge the person who was next to us. 7. When we arrived at breakfast, not one person looked happy, they looked shell-shocked, there was no happy morning atmosphere unlike what we'd seen at the other hotels. There was a minimal (cold) breakfast provided, their website claims they can offer hot breakfast. It was worse than a hospital canteen. The only thing sterile in that whole place was the atmosphere of the guests most likely having endured what we endured. 8. We deliberately chose to get up early to check out immediately after breakfast as we didn't feel comfortable or safe staying there any longer than necessary.  We were shocked at the price they charge for their rooms, it is definitely NOT value for money. It felt more like a horrific hostel than a hotel.  The photos they have on their website are misleading on what they offer. Anyone who claims this place is average or good are lying, or they've been paid to say something nice. It is not. I urge you, do not use this hotel.

I have never bothered to rate a hotel before but this one deserves it. DO NOT BOOK HERE. I thought people were exaggerating in their reviews, they were not. Room smelled like mold, carpet was damp, breakfast was awful, room wasn’t cleaned well at all. Basically the worst place we have ever stayed. We considered just eating the cost and booking a second place but instead we just stayed out of the room until sleep.

Run down hotel, with dirty, musty, moldy room, stained carpet. Did not stay. Walked in, was horrified, walked out and left. Cannot believe they passed health inspection! Do not believe the pictures on the website, there’s absolutely no resemblance to reality.
