Hotel's Favourite

My partner, myself and our 2 pups LOVED our time at the Comfort Inn in Charlottetown. We unexpectedly found ourselves here as our previous accommodations elsewhere where horrendous. The staff at the front desk were extremely empathetic and kind. They were able to provide us a king-size ground floor for our dogs (that level is pet friendly) and us. The complimentary breakfast was full of variety and kept fresh - my only critique is that there are not really any non-dairy options for coffee/cereal etc.
The cleaning staff were magnificent! So sweet and friendly. They offered our doggos treats too! The room was spacious and stayed nice and cool through the night. The bed was very comfortable.

Even during staff changeover, the front desk crew were always so friendly and helpful.

The hotel overall is in lovely shape, clean, and accessible.
If we ever find ourselves travelling with our dogs, we will be looking for Comfort Inn from now on! Thank you so much, Comfort Inn Charlottetown!

Stayed for 2 nights with wife and our 1yr old exploring PEI and visiting family. The hotel is located on a busy enough road about 10 min (driving) from downtown and close to the airport. The building itself is the standard older style L shaped Comfort Inn you will find in nearly every city in eastern Canada. They were originally built as Journey’s End hotels in the 70s-80s but rebranded to Comfort Inn in the 90s. Older design but they have been updated and taken care of. There are 2 floors but no elevators. Ground is better if you have lots of luggage or a stroller. Most the ground rooms have a sliding door where you can park at your room and unload. The downside of the ground floors is if you have smoker neighbours they will probably hang around outside their patio door smoking near your window. Our room was ground but in the corner of the “L” so no patio door and a smaller window. The rooms are probably in need of an refresh soon since they have a dated feel but there was nothing wrong with them and it was clean.

The room had a weird chaise lounge type of chair that took up a lot of space in the room and is not really a chair I would want to sit in. Replacing it with a normal armchair would make the room feel bigger and be more useful.

Staff were friendly. The hotel was fully booked both nights but didn’t seem crowded. Breakfast is included and was adequate. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffle stations, yogurt, muffins, etc. Would be better with a potato option like home fries or hashbrown. The breakfast room is on the smaller side with a few tables and a outdoor patio. It can be crowded at certain times.

One weird thing about the building is that there are no automatic doors at the front entrance, not even the button for disabled access. Makes stroller use or bringing in luggage hard since you need someone to hold door. I would imagine that isn’t great for disabled people.

We were here for two nights. We did move rooms after first night as we had raucous neighbours who the hotel admitted were staying. Second night was much more peaceful. Rooms are comfortable, clean and well appointed. Breakfast is good but space for service is crowded and requires some navigation. Staff was helpful.

My experience at this hotel had me so dissatisfied that it has been on my mind to speak up since we left two weeks ago.

Due to Covid we were informed that additional sanitary measures were in effect. We still brought our own cleaning supplies to touch up in the room because this was our first trip away from home since the pandemic started. We were trusting in your establishment since I had called prior to booking and was convinced by your front desk that measures were up to par.

This could not have been further from the truth, the room was disgusting, we were finding other people’s body hairs while cleaning the bathroom. The shower was gross and we cleaned it over, the floor in the bathroom became much brighter after we cleaned it and hairs around the toilette. The sink had black mildew coming from the upper edge. The furniture had dust, we didn’t dare look in the linens because I removed them immediately to put our own. WE CLEANED everything in that room.

We had people staying in the room next to us who also mentioned they were not satisfied with the cleanliness.

Every time we walked past the front desk there were either employees out in the guest sitting area watching tv or in the back room looking half asleep.

Nearing 60 years of age, I can state the worst hotel stay of my life.

The stench of the outdated carpet and drapes was enough to make you sick.
2 nights, 600 clams

Opened the screen door and room door to let air through.

Have to say, I'm not typically a picky person.
We were only expecting a clean room, comfortable bed.

It was too late to cancel, just sucked it up and stayed out of the room as much as possible.

Sorry to have to slam them, but until/unless they remove carpet, drapes, wallpaper and clean it all, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone else.

I was staying here for a week for work. I work from a desktop computer that I bring with me whenever I go. It requires a wired internet connection. They were unable to tell me over the phone if any of the rooms had an ethernet port(they do not). Not a huge deal, just wanted to know before I pack up a desktop.

Upon arriving my room smelled like somebody just finished smoking a pack of cigarettes in it. Employee came in and said "wow that stinks" and went to grab a bottle of spray. I never smelled cigarettes again but that's because the scenty spray fried my sinuses. I asked for a new room but they were at capacity... The next morning I heard somebody complaining about the same smells...

Breakfast was the only saving grace.

If you dislike the smell of cigarettes, I'd avoid this hotel.

I have been staying at this hotel for many years now and out of all the hotels I have stayed at, this is my favourite. The staff here is amazing. Shawna and Laura at the front desk are very accommodating and during this pandemic, their dedication to the hotel is second to none. The rooms are clean and the cleaning staff greet you with a smile if you meet them in the hall. Thanks for making my stay feel like a home away from home

The hotel was just renovated but the parking lot itself was still under construction, not allowing us to be able to park near our room. On the positive side, the rooms were fresh and the bed was very comfortable, the staff was friendly and the breakfast, which is included, was very good.
On the negative side, our room was located right behind the front desk and across from the ice machine, making it difficult to get a good nights sleep due to the other guests having no choice but to go by our room to enter and leave the hotel/motel or to get ice. As for location, it's right as you enter Charlottetown from the highway, but about a 25 minute drive to the harbor.

Very clean with nice breakfast included. The location wasn’t great for shopping or downtown Charlottetown but if you have a car it’s ok. Drive up room was helpful but we faced out to an industrial trucking place which wasn’t great to see. Overall basic, clean and no complaints.

The staff here is awesome, they go above and beyond their duties to help. The general manager was really sweet and helpful too. Rooms were really convenient to drive up and keep our eyes on our bikes. Thanks so much for making our stay that much better. Everything was clean.
