My family had the pleasure of staying at the Harbour House for two days in June, 2022.

We originally booked for a single night, due to uncertain plans. Upon realizing we would need a second night, this was accommodated. We did have to change rooms, but this was handled for us while we were away: they moved our luggage to our new room so that the change was mostly seamless.

The location is great for downtown: on a quiet section of street, you're a short walk from downtown and the waterfront. There was plenty of on-street parking while we were there, but the Harbour House does have private parking in the rear, and we never had an issue finding a space.

Breakfast was included in our rate, and it was a good one. Among other items, omelettes are available, along with (to our surprise) a vegan-friendly tofu scramble. Coffee and juices were available, along with bread and bagels.

The decor of the hotel is pleasant, with multiple sitting areas available both inside and outside.

The room was clean, as was the bathroom. The bathroom contained a decent assortment of needed toiletries, like soap and shampoo. The room itself had a kitchen and some cutlery. We didn't make much use of it, but for longer stays this would undoubtedly be an important feature.

If we find our way back to Charlottetown, I wouldn't hesitate to book there again. Staff was pleasant and worked with us whenever we had a request.

In June of 2022, my wife and I spent a month, driving the East Coast of Canada, which included Prince Edward Island and the city of Charolettown.
Charolettown is a beautiful small city that has older homes with large tree lined quiet streets, with minimal traffic and the people have that East Coast warm and friendly personalities.
On this trip we decided to stay in Bed and Breakfast type Inns and we stayed in about 8 B n B's in all the 3 Provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI.
Our stay in Harbour House was a wonderful choice. This B n B was spotlessly clean and full of character and reflected the period of days long since gone by, from the oak floors, the oak trim and stairs, to the period furniture and the house itself. It was a very calming and quiet place to relax in.
Harbour House included all of the amenities such as free parking at the rear, free breakfast, a flat screen in each room, lounge areas and it was walking distance to local restaurants.
The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and sincere in their endeavor to help us whenever we asked.
The price was reasonable, but you would be wise to book ahead,
I am highly recommending this B n B if you are going to Charlottetown.

This small hotel is a busy place, with a great location if you want to discover downtown Charlottetown; you can park your car and walk wherever you need to go. The hotel is in a residential area and there is a parking lot behind the hotel so you don’t need to park on the street. We booked a studio room with a balcony and it was sufficient for our stay. There was a tiny kitchen area, comfortable King bed, small sofa and a small bathroom. We didn’t make much use of the balcony as the weather was not conducive for sitting outside. The decorating was plain and neat. The cleaning attendant was very pleasant. There are some nice inside sitting areas for guests and we never saw anyone sitting in them so probably a balcony is not necessary. (Your choice!) The common areas are beautifully decorated. The breakfast area is large and the tables are preset for your arrival. If you want a simple breakfast with cereal and toast, you can help yourself. There are servers who will take your order for a more substantial breakfast and there were 6 choices. We were there for three days and everything was great! Each morning there were very yummy muffins. The women who served the breakfast were friendly and greeted guests with a fresh fruit salad. Whoever prepared the meals did a great job.

It’s important to note that there is no elevator so if stairs are a problem you might call ahead to see if there is room that will suit you. The hotel is locked and you need to ring for someone to open the door until you have your own entry pass. They send specific instructions with your confirmation for the entry and parking information.

Pros: The Yellow Room fit two twin size beds. Shower and bathroom was a decent size. Breakfast was excellent. Location is perfectly within walking distance to downtown and water front. They were willing to store our luggage until the room was ready. Lots of common areas to sit and relax. A/C was so nice on the hot days we visited. Filtered water tap for filling bottles a definite plus when exploring on foot.

Cons: Can hear noise from hall and other rooms. Mattresses were quite firm. Woke with a little soreness.

This was one of largest (21 rooms) and nicest B & B's I have stayed at. It was more like a small hotel really then a B&B IMO. It was great being so close to downtown. I could leave my car and walk everywhere. The room I stayed in was a good size, relatively quiet from outside noise but not so much from inside. My neighbors weren't too bad but they were not perfectly quiet but not enough to keep me awake or anything. As many have mentioned the walls are not sound proofed which is not unexpected in a older home. The bathroom was nice, shower was a bit tight and I am not a very big person so keep that in mind if you are someone who is bigger as it was a bit awkward to use. I did not partake in the free breakfast as it was a set menu with limited choices that did not appeal to me personally. I am a bacon and eggs guy and that was not an option. I would have liked to been able to order what I want as opposed to what was offered. I should have researched this more so my bad. All the other B&B's I have stayed in were smaller and felt different; like I was part of their family. This place though very nice, I did not get that feeling because it was so big and so many people staying there. It is what it is and it is something to keep in mind if you like a more personalized service with the owner there and such greeting you. The front desk staff were nice and the check-in was good but when checking out, I gave my key card back and was given my receipt and that was it. No thank you for staying here or anything; that was a little disappointing. I got an email later though with a thank you for staying there and that was nice I will say. Overall, it is a nice B&B and I would recommend it. Just make sure you look at the pics and ask questions when booking so you know exactly what to expect when you arrive.

This is a cozy and nicely decorated boutique hotel. Prices are competitive and certainly, it's a better stay than any chain hotel I've been in.

The king bed we had was comfortable, the included breakfast was significantly better than any chain restaurant's free breakfast. The location is great, right near the heart of Charlottetown and it has free parking, a bonus in my mind.

The desk clerk gave us a nice tour of the hotel so we could find our way around. It's a converted home, so there are a number of nooks and crannies, where breakfast is served, and where you can get extra creme for your in-room coffee maker. The place was spotlessly clean.

My wife also really liked it - 'nuff said.

I'd return without hesitation.

We stayed in rooms on the main floor and second floor in two separate stays. It was a lovely historic home with modern room amenities. The neighbourhood was quiet yet a very short walk to downtown and to the big city park along the water (Victoria Park). The breakfast was spectacular. We had our 1 year old and they were very accommodating, having a pack and play ready and set up in our room upon arrival, helping donate leftover diapers from our trip, and preparing smaller simpler breakfast plates for him. The only possible downside was the room walls/ceilings were not as soundproofed as a modern hotel, but it didn’t bother us - and I’m a very light sleeper.

The pillows & bed were extremely comfortable! The sheets were high quality. I hadn't slept so soundly in quite some time. A wonderful surprise after a weary day of travel from Ontario. The room I was in had a small kitchen setup with hotplate, kitchenware, etc; The staff were quite helpful. Overall, a great stopover in a convenient location.

This ‘boutique’ hotel is in a great residential location and within easy walking distance of central Charlottetown. There’s free parking at the back of the hotel.
We received an excellent welcome from the receptionist who then showed us around the lovely communal area of the premises. Our hearts then sank when we were taken to the 2 bedrooms in the basement next to the hotel laundry. The rooms were very dated and dingy with a tiny prison like window in them. Beds were comfortable. The ceiling in this lower corridor was covered in polystyrene tiles.
Breakfasts were great – freshly made individual fruit salad bowl, cereals/toast/muffins to self serve and a choice of 4 cooked breakfasts. All staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful.
Whilst the main areas of the hotel might be described as boutique, our bedrooms were far from that. The photos on line show very different bedrooms to what we saw!

This hotel is amazing. Made to order breakfast is included, walking distance to all attractions, free parking and free bike rental. The only thing is that we had a room for 4 and bathroom was very very very small. Also, our room had small kitchenette but only 1 electric cooking counter. For the room that is that big ( it can fit 6 people), bigger bathroom and maybe even some separation between beds would be great. Other than that, one of the very nice bed and breakfast with the amazing staff.
