Location, Location, Location. This property is in the perfect place to explore Charlottetown and PEI. Comfortable room and amazing breakfast. Our stay was made extra special by all the wonderful staff. We highly recommend that you stay at The Fairholm Boutique Inns. Special mention to Kathy, Sam and Chef for making our week so fabulous.

My son and I spent the weekend at the Fairholm with his hockey team and it was the best experience we have ever had in a hotel. We were placed in the Fairholm and Hillhurst buildings and it was perfect. The kids and parents had space to hang out and relax without worry of bothering other guests. Our room (the Irene Rogers Suite) was huge, luxurious, and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast that was served in the Hillhurst building was delicious with plenty of options. It was an amazing and relaxing weekend for our team and wouldn't hesitate to book it again for our team.

We stayed in the Fairholm building (the oldest one) in the 3rd floor (attic) suite. It’s so amazing!!! The property is stunning. Every detail is attended to. The staff are incredible - Jake helped us check in and get familiar with our room and the property. In all our travels we have never had someone who was so pleasant, kind, and fun! Breakfast the next day was really really good. This place is an absolute gem in downtown Charlottetown. We will be back!

Room Tip: There is a parking lot behind the inn but also lots of parking on Fitzroy and Prince streets.

We have been following the unexpected and severe damage that Fiona caused to PEI, and thought that one small thing we could do is to post a review of the Fairholm Inns, where we stayed in July, and encourage anyone considering a visit to PEI to stay there. The Inns are truly a family affair. We were taken care of by Brooke (the owner) along with his grown children and their friends. We had the kind of experience you will never get at a chain hotel. We received personalized attention every step of the way, from check-in right until departure. The various family members helped us plan our daily hikes, discover local restaurants, and even arranged for rides to our destinations. We got to know them , and they gave us insights about life on the island. We felt like were practically part of the family by the time we left. Our room was the size of a small apartment, with a sitting room and a small balcony. It was perfect for our 8-day stay, and while there was not regular room cleaning, any requests we had for towels or anything else was taken care of quickly and with good humor. If you have the opportunity to stay at the Fairholm Inns, please do. Places like this need all the support we can give them as they weather (literally) hurricanes and pandemics.

We stayed three nights in a one-bedroom suite in the Carriage House, one of four buildings comprising the property. Check -in was confusing, as we went to the lobby of the main building which was empty. Another guest was checking in at the same time, and he was equally confused. We called the number on the signage, and Carter answered right away. He was a bit swamped with check-ins, but made his way over and got us settled into our apartment as soon as he could. The ventilation system in our unit was loud and annoying, which Carter eventually remedied for us. The next morning we had no hot water - that was also remedied by the owner, later that morning. Despite all of these snags to begin, we did enjoy our stay. The buildings are all charming. The grounds were still in a state of recovery after the storm, but we could tell they were well cared for. The breakfasts were really tasty and it was always nice to greet our fellow guests and chat about our experiences in the city. Carter was especially helpful to us during our stay, but all of the staff were kind and courteous. Fiona had just run through the city, and I know that the property was still recovering from this; however, I feel as if maybe a bit more guidance from the owners may help things run a bit smoother. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could, but felt it deserved more than a 3.

The Sydney is my go-to place. They had no availability recently, so I booked a room for 2 nights at Fairholm less than 14 days out. Fiona was coming so I had to cancel. They don't answer their phone so I e-mailed day before. Day of check-in, they called to remind me of my stay. I said I wasn't going, due to the hurricane coming. Carter said I could have gone and stayed 1 of the 2 nights, as the storm hadn't hit yet. So they charged me anyway. They have a 14 day cancellation policy. I hadn't even booked that far out. Very poor customer service! Go to the Sydney, if you can. ZERO STARS

We have stayed here many times pre-Covid, then again July and Aug 2022. One of our fave places on PEI and super convenient location. There are many different types of rooms in three different buildings. We love the charming old rooms, but the newer building as well. Although the newer rooms seem smaller. It’s not the kind of hotel you’ll book for the view- but the type of room. So tell them your preference - and you’ll have a better chance of getting a room that suits you. This summer (2022) when crowds of tourists were back, it was almost as if the property was taken by surprise. The garden arbor area was unclean/ not well maintained and did not have propane for the fire pit. The main house exterior needed attention. There was no daily room service (it was provided on request as well as clean towels). The staff here has been very young and while they’re super friendly and try to be helpful I would not say there’re seasoned hospitality professionals. But— in a world where every company seems short handed we will overlook those things this stay. We do enjoy staying here - I think it all boils down to the price you pay. PS yes the breakfast is varied and very good. It is a proper breakfast selected from a menu served in a quiet breakfast area off the check in or outside on the patio. If you’re in a hurry it may not be for you. Will definitely stay again!

The location is quite good allowing walkable distance to the main drag. The room is basic without any old charm and the wifi is quite slow. The staff however are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is the only highlight unfortunately. Please leave a tip to the servers.

We made our reservations thinking we would be staying in a beautiful old home so we were surprised to find out that our accommodations were actually in a small building next door. The room was small, but clean, mostly taken up by the bed. We also discovered that a wedding was in progress on the property. We should have packed our bags and left as soon as we found that out. There was loud music, cheers, and partying going on until late in the night. We were woken up at 2:30 am by shouting directly in front of our room, and it sounded like a fight. There were about 15 wedding guests within feet of our door. The guests upstairs were stomping around their room during the night. Breakfast was delicious, served in the house we wanted to stay in. I am rating this hotel as average, certainly not five star! Be sure to ask if there is an event going on at the property because you do not want to be there at that time. Also, the staff were occupied with the wedding. I'll not stay there again but if you love old houses, this might be a nice place for you to stay.

One thing that is often understated is how a stay at a hotel/inn/B&B makes you feel. Not only was our room fantastic, and the bed oh so comfortable, but the staff made us feel like we were home. In particular, Jake was so hospitable and helpful, and went above and beyond to help us in any request. A true asset to the stay here. And, I am not just saying that because my name is Jake. Lol. The hotel is centrally located and well equipped. Would gladly stay there again.
