Detailed Reviews
I was a little cautious about this hotel because their rates are so reasonable but it was very comfortable and clean with all the room amenities you’d expect. This former RCAF barracks can’t disguise it’s past but the rooms and bathrooms have all been done over and are quite attractive and spacious. I would not hesitate to recommend it . It is excellent value for the money.

The front desk staff & manager were very welcoming & helpful when we arrived and whenever we needed something. The room is a converted military barracks- nothing at all wrong with that. The biggest single issue we had was the lack of proper ventilation: no bathroom fan. There was such a high humidity level even with the window open & AC running that the moisture in our room's carpet made our feet wet. We had to wear sandals. When we did laundry the clothes were never completely dry because of the recirculated moisture in the building. As well, our AC made a clanging noise for several hours after it was shut off for the evening. Until these issues are taken care of I would not stay here again.

This is a different kind of hotel, it's an Air-force barrack converted into a hotel. Very quiet neighbourhood, rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable. From this hotel you can drive anywhere in the island.Breakfast is okay as you have choices on what you want to eat and the restaurant is even better with quality food. Don't be surprised to see airmen in uniform around the property, they still use the facility as the hotel is still within the Air-force property. One will enjoy staying there.

We stayed here for a week in August while visiting family. We didn’t know it was the CFB Summerside when we booked so pulling into the property was very cool! There’s a drive in at the front of the property and some old planes. The airport hangers are in the back ground by the ocean. It was an old Air Force base. There’s several training facilities in the community that we walked around and peaked in on. The rooms were good sized and the beds were sooooooo comfy!! The restaurant we never made it as we were out exploring and visiting family. The conference and banquet Center was huge.
The staff was absolutely amazing! The nicest hotel staff we have ever encountered!! Staying in old barricks was definitely something I’ll never forget. It was like being being there in wartime but with technology!
Wifi was free and worked everywhere we were.
Over all a really cool experience and we will come back!

Enjoyed two nights at this renovated former military base. Friendly informative reception, secure parking on the northern fringe of Summmerside. Clean and comfortable, a great base to explore PEI. Very affordable for the tourist season.

I stayed at the hotel for almost 3 months as I was taking a course at the school next door. The hallways were constantly littered with trash and house keeping rarely cleaned up and refused to tidy up your room if it was the least bit messy. The rooms themselves were outdated and definitely not worth the $500+ a month. The food at the hotel was almost inedible and left you feeling like you were in a hospital or a nursing home. The word I would use to descride the Slemon Park Hotel is overpriced. The rooms, the food and everything else. I was required to pay a $500 damage deposit when I checked in, and at the end of my stay the hotel took $50 from my deposit because my room needed "extra cleaning". That just tells me the house keeping staff is lazy and the hotel management just wants a few extra dollars.
I will definitely never stay at this Hotel ever again and I would never recommend it to anyone.

My daughter lives in Slemon Park which is directly beside the Hotel and she had no idea the accommodations are old army barracks spruced up to serve as a hotel. Imagine our surprise when we arrived to check in. When we arrived my husband took our luggage into the lobby and I will say the lobby was impressive this should have been a clue to the receptionist that we had not stayed before. She checked us in and gave us instructions to our building which turned out to be incorrect these buildings are very long and narrow so and we were booked on the second floor at the very end of the building. We walked the full length of the first building and realized our room was not there the entrance and the hallways certainly showed the wear and tear of many years there was new carpeting. When we found our room we were very taken back it was small not enough room for two people to stand between the beds the pillows seemed like Square Decor pillows and the sheets were very coarse. The only positive thing I can say is the room was clean. There also was no ventilation and in no time the room was very stuffy. The parking was up the road on the far side of the lobby building which we found out only housed the convention center and the restaurant. We stay the two nights we had booked but I can safely say we will not stay again. This place would be good for teams or someone looking to stay in this type of room. When we checked out I had a long conversation with the receptionist we exchanged questions and answers and she asked if we had known prior to booking the type of room would we have stayed and I told her no she inquired why and I said Barrack means small compact. We feel it was like traveler beware because nowhere did it state the type of hotel.

We could not find a room in Summerside so we came here. Has a very abanodoned feel to it...because it is. There were ten cars in the parking lot, seemingly 500 rooms available and we were put on the second level of one of the "human chambers" on the complex grounds, so we had to lug all of our stuff over, not fun. We saw 2 other "guests" the whole time we were there, neither of which were in our building. Feels very isolated and remote. Desolate. A 3 night stay quickly became 1 as we sped away the next day in fear of alien abduction.
Side note: My wife and I toured extensively around Summerside. There is not a heck of a lot to do for ages 18-40. If you are looking for better shopping, beach feel, parks, go directly to Cavendish and stay there. Very tourist friendly area with something to do for all ages. Excellent for photography, hiking, beach and tons to do for young children. Wish we had stayed there instead and we will next time for sure.

This was kind of like a "bait and switch". The website looked great, but the room I ended up with was... well.. they put a spiffy bedspread on the bed, but this did not hide the fact that the original intent of the building was that of a military barracks. The plumbing moaned and knocked. I have to say that the staff were very friendly and courteous, but next time, for only a few dollars more, I'll stay directly in the town of Summerside.
