We stayed in a queen room. It was clean and well-equipped, the bed was comfortable. Since we were travelling with a dog, the room itself was on the small side, but it had a balcony almost as large as the room which she loved. The breakfast, however, was terrible... unless you have a love for individually-wrapped processed cheese slices... For others travelling with dogs, the hotel is across the street from the riverside park/boardwalk, which was very handy.

The first thing you notice about the rooms is that they’re not huge, but it’s kitted out with everything you need including a small fridge, coffee machine and ice bucket. Our room at the back also had a large balcony looking across to the fjord, albeit overlooking a car park. The bathroom was well appointed with good towels and plenty of hot water. The mattress and bedding definitely need an upgrade but the place was clean and with breakfast included, the price was pretty good too. There is no restaurant attached but plenty of restaurants of all types and for all budgets a short walk away in town. There is a bar attached to the hotel but it seemed a bit seedy for mixed company. Overall, can’t complain but wouldn't recommend either.

This hotel is okay for a short stay. The hotel really gave me a strange feeling. The rooms were okay & clean and the beds were comfortable. The building next to the hotel is a night club during the night and the place were breakfast is served during the morning. Breakfast is included but is very basic and not fresh. I would not recommend this place. There is also nothing to do in the environment.

We stayed at the Hotel du Fjord for 2 nights while exploring the Saguenay area. The hotel is in a great location across the river: nice for walking, jogging, biking etc., and near restaurants and stores. The hotel staff members are very helpful, polite and friendly. The rooms are small but clean, bright and nicely decorated. We had a room with a balcony which is advertised as having a river view: we could see the river a little bit but it is more of a view of the parking lot, though. It can be noisy with cars coming in and out. People smoke in the parking lot area so that's not great at times. Breakfast was included in our rate: typical hotel fare but it was fine.

Room Tip: Don't park under the balconies because when the flower planters are watered it makes a mess...

The building is not impressive: an old brick structure which has nothing to draw tourists in. It is between the river and the center of the town which can be reached in few minutes. The large hotel’s parking will guarantee a place even when the hotel is full. The lobby is very small but the hotel has a large bar with some slot machines and a billiards room. Many rooms have a large balcony. They face on the close river and on the surrounding hill. The interior of the hotel is pleasant and our room was large, elegant and everything spotless clean. Just across the street a pleasant wooden boardwalk running between the river and the city gardens will give you the opportunity to enjoy the view of the Saguenay. Many restaurants are close along the main street of the town.
