Bypass the big chains and go to L'Auberge Les Menus Plaisirs in the quaint village of St. Rose in Laval. Very comfortable and the continental breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Also you get to sleep in the house where the famous Cure Labelle was born! The staff were very helpful and pleasant. It is close to La Riviere des Mille Iles and there is a very pleasant walking trail along the shoreline. Will definitely return.

The rooms here are beautiful and have all the trappings of a luxury hotel for a fraction of the price (jacuzzi-style bathtub; sitting area; a desk for working, etc). However, I found the staff kind of bureaucratic; I got the feeling they thought that my requests were interfering with their real work. Spotty wifi connection.

Stayed for the long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Huge studio (at $175 per night) with well designed space/kitchenette/bathroom. The breakfast could have been better, but only think this because everything else was so good.
Their courtyard restaurant was packed when we arrived and seemed to be a most "happening place". Would not hesitate to return.

If you want to have a Bad experience this is the place to stay, worse service ever. Lady at the reception area doesn’t have idea about customer service. We had breakfast and the cheese was spoiled.....
The food at the restaurant is good.

However, breakfast has really gone downhill. Next trip I would not rate the property fives stars if the breakfast has not improved.
Had dinner at the restaurant - fascinating cuisine; hard to describe, but enjoyable dining.

We had lunch with another couple and we all completely enjoyed the meal and the service. I will be returning. The daily specials and the wine list are very good, better than average for lunch. You have a choice of appetizer and several main dishes. I had the shrimp croquettes and the house burger. My wife had the croquettes and the quiche.

The rooms are well priced and nice. All is clean. However, we were placed in room #2 at the front of the hotel. The noise from the road is quite loud and continues throughout the night. As the hotel is on a corner, cars accelerate continually. With the warning that you do not want to be in the front of the hotel, I would recommend this place for its charm.

For an auberge that is 15 minutes away from Montreal, you feel like you are in a cottage up north. The decor is cozy and the rooms are very spacious. We would definitely come back. It is a perfect gift for a special occasion.

Located about a 15 minute drive north of Montreal , this hotel and restaurant was charming. We booked the king suite. Wow, large and beautiful. Has a kitchenette, dining table , couch , chair and a jacuzzi. It was very quiet.
There is one night that they offer a special menu at the restaurant but, we missed that. There are a few other restaurants you can walk to as well as a park on the water. I will definitely practice my French before returning so I can enjoy the wonderful French feel of the area.

The room was very comfortable with great ambience. The price was comparable to nearby chain hotels, but this was a much better value!

On top of that, the restaurant is top notch (I will review that separately). Suffice to say- great meal, then a great room.

Although I was staying on business, I told my wife that we should vacation in Montreal and spend at least one romantic night at Les Menus Plaisirs.
