My husband and I were there four nights while I was at a nearby clinic for hip surgery. The two queen bed room did not have a good sitting chair which I needed for comfort. After bring me another office type chair it was necessary to change rooms. The front desk clerk “Ayman”move us into a support room at no extra cost which was very much appreciated.
The hotel is beautiful, clean and breakfast quite good. Thanks to Ayman again.

This hotel is located in a suburb of Montreal. So getting there was easy, and parking was free. It was a very quiet night, which made our stay very enjoyable. Our room was fine. I especially liked the breakfast, which was served in a cozy, quiet room and offered plenty of selections.

Wonderful hotel…free parking, a relaxing hotel bar with piano, an outdoor pool (which must be nice in the summer), and a very tasty/filling morning buffet. Our room was very comfortable/spacious/clean on the 5th floor; quiet. Loved all the little things that matter: the coffee cups with demitasse spoons and two types of drinking glassware; a Nespresso machine; a clock radio; luxury robes; blow dryer; iron w/ board; safe. Should I ever visit Laval/Montreal in the future, we will definitely stay here again and recommend others to do so also.
I would have given this hotel a 5-rating but could not since I was unable to sleep for 2 nights due to the bed pillows—the most uncomfortable pillows we’ve ever encountered in our 40+ years of extensive traveling. They looked very inviting on the bed, but once we tried to prop ourselves up to watch tv, the pillows sunk in making it feel extremely flat as if lying in a hole in the pillow. We tried folding the pillows in half for more support, but they still had no form or support. We are unsure why the pillows were like this or what was in them… could have been flattened feathers or other material damaged from over washing??? We tried everything to make the 4 pillows more comfortable…needless to say, we were unable to sleep well. We will be sure to take our own pillows next time.

Our stay was for 2 nights.

The first room assigned at check-in had 3 things not working, the fridge, the a/c unit made a lot of noise and the toilet didn’t flush. Maintenance came and said it would take some time for the fridge to get cooler (never did) and tried to fix the toilet unsuccessfully.

We got another room which had a working fridge and a toilet that flushed. The bed creaked every time we moved, this additional problem was found out much later and we were not going to change rooms again after midnight.

The room above us was occupied the following day of our stay and we were bombarded with heavy footsteps and non-stop noise above. Called the front desk and explained the problem.

Have stayed at a lot of hotels in the greater Montreal area and have never had a problem with insufficient insulation between floors.

I would not recommend this dated hotel which lacks insulation between floors and is in need of a deep clean through out the complex. Had garbage bags which I saw on 2 floors near the stairwells when we checked in and the following day.

The breakfast which is included is an embarrassment and you need to clear your own dishes. Once again the eating area is not clean and very small for the number of rooms in the hotel.

VERY DISAPPOINTED 👎

We stayed overnight at Le St-Martin while visiting a family member at nearby hospital. Our room was situated in the new wing. The king bed was comfortable, down pillows nice and cool, everything was in working order. Nice large shower stall with pleasant products. Two negatives: we only had two nespresso pods and the carpets had not been properly cleaned as there were pieces of pretzels on it.
Morning breakfast was included with our stay and it was lavish. Many different choices of breads, viennoiseries, warm eggs, bacon, sausages, potatoes, cold cuts, desserts, all the jams and cereals you can imagine as well as the usual fruit and yogourts. The one thing to improve would be the coffee. All in all an excellent stay. I am glad we did not listen to the other bad reviews. This place is a gem. Would highly recommend it.

Liked · Room was large and well appointed. Bed was comfortable although I hit my leg a few times on the bed frame (ouch). Breakfast was just the basics but still appreciated.

Disliked · On the Sunday we arrived, guests were very noisy. We also found garbage outside our room in the morning which was not ours. The hotel does NOT clean the room every day, we found this very odd especially given the nightly rates. Unless you go downstairs to the front desk to get clean towels, you won't get any for a few days. The mattress was disgusting, didn't notice it until our sheets slipped off. There were also multiple long hairs in our room (bathroom and on the bedding) that were not ours, although I know hair is hard to clean-up it's still pretty gross.

Hotel is situated close to malls and restaurants. Room is quite big, very clean. Comfortable bed. There is a Nespresso machine, mini-fridge, iron and safe. Because of Covid, they bring a packed breakfast to your room, which includes a croissant, yogurt, juice and fruit. There is an outdoor pool. Very good service.

This hotel is very beautiful and full of charm. The decor is very warm and inviting. The furnishings are high quality solid wood, which is rare to find even in the big chain high end hotels. Our room was spacious with luxurious linens, great shower, high end toiletries, etc. Everything felt clean and high end.

Despite all that, I would not stay here again because they intentionally spray every room with perfume and I am allergic. The hallways and public areas are OK. When I asked for a different room that is perfume free, I was told that every room is sprayed intentionally as part of their housekeeping and the best that they can do is give me a room that was prepared earlier in the day hoping the smell was dissipated.

The breakfast buffet has limited choices. It is mainly assorted breads, cereals and scrambled eggs. It is served a small dining area.

We stayed 3 nights for a wedding & family visits. The room was comfortable & immaculate, the front desk folks very friendly and helpful with dinner recommendations. The breakfast was very good - loads of variety and the location is perfect. Easy to get to from the highway & main roads of Laval, and easy walking distance (1/2 a block) from the Palace Reception Hall/Venue. When we found we had a flat tire, the front desk staff had good suggestions, and George (possibly a Supervisor or Manager) even called his personal mechanic for us, when we had no luck getting an appointment at a garage. We appreciated this kindness so much - he went above & beyond.

What to say about your Hotel? Never do business with you again. Your employee Leo, who was at the reception desk on the night of July 22, with his splitting smile, his disgusting arrogance, and his completely non-existent professionalism was something unforgettable. With a reservation confirmation since March 14, in addition to a group of people from our wedding who were staying at your hotel, he knew how to make a couple (us) angry at 2 a.m. in the morning without making any effort to find a solution to Your error. We asked to speak to a superior and he replied “I’m the boss”. It's lucky that the Marriott next door knows how to serve their customers. Saint-Martin is definitely over for us for life. Your employee should be relocated far from the reception counter. The bride just before us also received the same welcome a few minutes before us.
