Staff was so, so friendly and knowledgeable about our area of Montreal. Helped us get train tickets to quebec city when our flights to halifax were canceled due to hurricane Lee. Concierge was 10 star, but you only let me go to 5. I would love to stay again when I am back to Montreal. Restaurant was also a 5. And prices were very reasonable!

We celebrated our wedding at the William Gray and the night could not have been more perfect. The staff was phenomenal and extremely detail oriented. Highly recommend this hotel if you are planning an event or if you are looking for somewhere to stay while in Montreal.

This is a great hotel in a fantastic location. Hats off to our concierge, Sabina, who gave us great recommendations on restaurants and places to visit. Sabina went above and beyond the call of duty for us. I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat.

We had the best experience at this hotel. It is perfectly located steps to restaurants and bars but once inside you are in a beautiful, peaceful space. The room was perfect - comfortable bed and pillows, an amazing shower, and blackout curtains for sleeping in. Leonie, the concierge, was fantastic! She spent time with us listening to what we would enjoy and made great suggestions - it made the experience that much more memorable. She even left us a special treat on the day of our anniversary! Such a small beautiful hotel. The beds are comfortable the shower is incredible. The concierge, Sabina, was exceptional. Not only did she make terrific recommendations on restaurants and experiences but she had great attention to detail. She arranged for our luggage to be returned to our rooms with a special macaroon treat. Thank you Sabina; your actions do not go unnoticed. Thank you staff of the hotel; it was spotless and all were very friendly. I look forward to returning to Montreal and the Hotel William Grey.

I checked into this hotel with high expectations. Despite the fact that my room was upgraded, it was small and spare (no rug, concrete ceilings). The concierge kept steering me to touristy and not great restaurants and the hotel is smack in the middle of the most touristy section of Vieux Montreal. The shower was wonderful, however. Also the television wasn’t working, no notice from the hotel, I had to call for a repairman who told me. It wasn’t fixed while i was there. Overall, not a great experience.

From the time we pulled up to the entrance at 1000pm till the time we drove off, everyone was amazing. Very helpful and kind. The room was clean and modern. Shower was amazing. Nice surprise to have bed turned down in the evening. The location of the hotel was perfect. Thank goodness we had a friend tell us to stay there.

I really wanted to like the hotel more than I did, but issues popped up here and there. First off, the hotel is a bit of a strange layout. On our way to our room on the third floor we passed an open large area that seemed almost for a conference? Once we got to the room our view was the spa pool ($50 for 3 hours of use, $75 on the weekends which I’ve never heard of) which was nice and I thought would be quiet. That was until the garbage truck came every morning at 8:30am. Also the cleaning staff was incredibly loud banging their carts around as well first thing in the AM. Soundproofing rooms doesn’t seem to be a priority as we heard music one evening as well. Then, we noticed no ventilation in the bathroom so after a hot shower everything would be wet from all of the mist. Wanting to perhaps watch a movie, all movie ordering wasn’t working properly. One of our bed lamps flickered and didn’t work half the time and the room overall could use an update. The room also felt quite dark as a partial low drop ceiling really made the room feel small (this was a deluxe room as well. Two times I called down to the front desk to bring something up and both times I had to call again to remind them after they didn’t show up. We received a special rate as we were part of a wedding but there’s not way I’d spend the amount they regularly want. Some of the good? The wedding was quite pretty, food was decent on site, lovely roof top bar and the hotel seemed clean. The location was great if you want to be in a very touristy spot of the Old Port and staff was nice. …

My wife had a business trip here and I tagged along to explore the city. This hotel is in a good location. It’s clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was a little loud at night (I think we were directly above the area where there’s a pool table, but we always travel with earplugs for sleeping so it wasn’t a problem for us.
