From check in through check out the staff was helpful and attentive. If I asked for any kind of help I was given it and quickly. I enjoyed the staffs help and some of the them, the wait staff and house maid, were attentive and watched and helped.

Staff was very friendly. Accommodated to all of our needs with care. Had to stay in Montreal for a few nights. Initially stayed at Vogue Hotel Downtown which is supposed to be higher ranked. But the customer experience is not up to par compared to Hilton Garden Inn. Both located at downtown with very high walking score. We enjoyed their very clean pool and large exercise room. Our bedroom is spacious and clean. They had one time entry tape on the door and the remote control which shows their effort to make customers feel confident in their ability to keep the hotel clean during COVID. Indoor parking is clean and very easy to access.

The price is unbeatable too! I will not stay at another hotel again when I'm in Montreal.

Hilton Garden Inn Team Well Done! You've wowed me.

The hotel gets many things right, but we left with a sour taste in our mouths when they told us at check in that they do not offer daily housekeeping and that they require 24 hours notice if you want it. This was not communicated before check in.

The 24 hour window ensures that your first day won't have housekeeping, then you have to request it every 24 hours after that. There isn't even a door hanger to request it, you have to go to the front desk and ask for it each and every day.

Part of the hotel experience is daily housekeeping. If I didn't want housekeeping I'd stay in an AirBNB. That this policy, which I'm told is permanent and not a result of COVID, isn't communicated to guests beforehand is frustrating and ruins the experience.

Also parking is too expensive.

Parking expensive and difficulties with check in as parked on very busy road outside hotel. Only 2 spaces for temporary parking while doing so.

No Restaurant facilities at all and not told until enquiring, although now they say it is on their site. Not good enough.

Make sure you ask for room servicing on check in or as we found on third day no cleaning, no fresh towels, beverages, bins emptied, beds made etc. Oh apparently our fault as should have asked? $200 a night? Card on bed or in room perhaps? Or just cost cutting at customer expense?

Eventually had to ask 3 times for items as each time forgot something asked for. Apparently not allowed into rooms to clean when guests there. Even with masks?

Made complaint to Head Office and did get reply fron an Executive Ambassador. Can you tell wasn't happy with the response? Stayed in several Hotels around Canada on a tourist/business trip and this one was the worst.........

Room was not cleaned and the front desk staff refused to help. Saying no one is available for cleaning all day is not acceptable for the price we pay at this property. Totally unacceptable!!! Will not stay here again ever !!!

Took my family with two teens for a weekend in Montreal. Prices for this hotel were much less expensive than other Hiltons and it was a great location, so it was a good choice. Conveniently located close to everything we wanted to do, restaurants, Old Montreal, downtown, etc... The hotel lobby and our room were extremely clean. Our room was in great condition and nicely appointed with, fridge and large enough tv. Queen beds were super comfortable. Sheets were soft. Bathroom looked almost new with an electric mirror. Shower had good hot water and pressure. Towels were good maybe a 3.5 out of 5 on my softness scale. Front desk people were extremely friendly and helpful. There is in-and-out parking available, which was great, however it was a bit pricey at almost $40 ca per day including taxes. Also the parking area is very tight under the hotel. I wasn't able to just pull into a spot, it was more like a 6 point turn. Also, it maybe a bit troublesome for those who are claustrophobic. You may also have to go from one elevator to another to reach your room depending on room location. There is a nice pool and workout room, although we didn't get a chance to enjoy them. One surprising benefit to this hotel, especially if you are unfamiliar with the city is that you can see the hotel and the Hilton Garden Inn sign from pretty much everywhere so it is very easy to find.

Stayed at this property for 4 nights during the conference. At check in first surprise: received vouchers for 20 CAD (so less than 15 USD) for a couple for breakfast as Diamond member. Clearly hotel is abusing the program rules, as vouchers are only supposed to be used in hotels in United States and last time I checked Montreal is in Canada, so rules for non-US hotels should apply, that demand complimentary breakfast for elite members. Even if hotel promises to make things right on their posters posted in the elevators, this did not happened with my complaint and hotel still states that rules for U.S. hotels also apply for them... we went to the breakfast four times and ordered same bread and croissant every time with ice cold water, only to see four different versions of the same thing (and total bill was 17 CAD each time). Also staff at the breakfast not friendly at all. Room was quite big with everything in working order, but bed mattress clearly beyond its lifetime, as you could feel those springs inside, so sleep was very uncomfortable.

Hotel blatantly ignores Diamond breakfast benefits that they are obligated to provide. All HGIs outside of the US are required to provide a continental breakfast - this is noted in the app when you check in. Instead, the hotel insists that they don’t offer continental breakfast and tried to provide a $10 CAD/$7 USD voucher instead to use on a la carte items. This doesn’t even cover a pastry + a coffee. Based on the attitude and explanation I was given, you can tell others have already pointed this out to them, and they don’t care.

Afternoon/evening staff of both nights of my stay were pretty dismissive and unfriendly. I’ve stayed 60+ nights this year in Hiltons domestically and internationally and this is the first time I’ve encountered a hotel that doesn’t provide listed benefits. Hopefully if enough Diamond and Gold members leave reviews, they’ll comply with the policy.

Staff was rude and unaccommodating. I had quite an uncomfortable experience on my final night at this hotel. The staff was AWFUL!
Additionally, I asked for a new coffee pot and a new iron because both were not working or were spitting out coffee. Upon my return to the room the iron was just turned around to face the back of the wall and they just replaced the coffee pods not the coffee pot.
We paid for parking and spent time at the bar and in the pool. And in all honesty, the facilities are not awful. They're quite fine. I'm just quite offended and upset by my experience at this hotel at the end of my stay.
I understand policies and the need to verify identities of all hotel guests. However, when a guest has been there for a week and is only in their bathing suit and left their room key in their room, it should not be policy to have that person come down to the lobby in their wet bathing suit and a towel and barefoot to prove they belong in the hotel and should be let into their room when that guest is explaining their anxiety with being almost naked in front of strangers.. They could ask for identifying information from the phone when I called to ask for help from the pool floor to be helped into my room.
It was an unfortunate experience.
Based on what I have heard from the corporate Hilton office, they are reviewing their policies.
Never ate at the restaurant. Love the views. Beds are comfy.
Views are ok.
Good location.

Response from Jean Dufour, Other at Hilton Garden Inn Montreal Centre-Ville
Responded Jan 26, 2024
Good day Tony J, We would first and foremost like to thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Hilton Garden Inn Montreal Centre-ville for your recent visit to our lovely city. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our facilities, enjoyed the comfort of our beds and are delighted by the aesthetics of our property. In regards to the iron in the room, we are happy our team was able to assist you and provide a replacement one promptly. Our Front Office team is available at any given time to provide assistance, we simply request that guests give us a call by dialing 0 on the phone in their room. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, we cannot confirm a guest's identity over the phone as it breaches our security policies. For the safety and security of all our guests and employees, we ask that guests pass by the lobby in order to be identified physically and in our system with a photo ID. Rest assured, a thorough investigation on our side with Hilton Honors has been made. They should be reaching out to you in the near future. We would like to thank you again for sharing your experience and for choosing to stay with us at the Hilton Garden Inn Montreal Centre-ville. Best regards,

We were not there long enough to get into the pool, as three nights meant busy days, and the last day when we were leaving became bitterly cold, which was out of our comfort zone, being Floridians.
