The price is unbeatable too! I will not stay at another hotel again when I'm in Montreal.
Hilton Garden Inn Team Well Done! You've wowed me.
The 24 hour window ensures that your first day won't have housekeeping, then you have to request it every 24 hours after that. There isn't even a door hanger to request it, you have to go to the front desk and ask for it each and every day.
Part of the hotel experience is daily housekeeping. If I didn't want housekeeping I'd stay in an AirBNB. That this policy, which I'm told is permanent and not a result of COVID, isn't communicated to guests beforehand is frustrating and ruins the experience.
Also parking is too expensive.
No Restaurant facilities at all and not told until enquiring, although now they say it is on their site. Not good enough.
Make sure you ask for room servicing on check in or as we found on third day no cleaning, no fresh towels, beverages, bins emptied, beds made etc. Oh apparently our fault as should have asked? $200 a night? Card on bed or in room perhaps? Or just cost cutting at customer expense?
Eventually had to ask 3 times for items as each time forgot something asked for. Apparently not allowed into rooms to clean when guests there. Even with masks?
Made complaint to Head Office and did get reply fron an Executive Ambassador. Can you tell wasn't happy with the response? Stayed in several Hotels around Canada on a tourist/business trip and this one was the worst.........
Afternoon/evening staff of both nights of my stay were pretty dismissive and unfriendly. I’ve stayed 60+ nights this year in Hiltons domestically and internationally and this is the first time I’ve encountered a hotel that doesn’t provide listed benefits. Hopefully if enough Diamond and Gold members leave reviews, they’ll comply with the policy.
Additionally, I asked for a new coffee pot and a new iron because both were not working or were spitting out coffee. Upon my return to the room the iron was just turned around to face the back of the wall and they just replaced the coffee pods not the coffee pot.
We paid for parking and spent time at the bar and in the pool. And in all honesty, the facilities are not awful. They're quite fine. I'm just quite offended and upset by my experience at this hotel at the end of my stay.
I understand policies and the need to verify identities of all hotel guests. However, when a guest has been there for a week and is only in their bathing suit and left their room key in their room, it should not be policy to have that person come down to the lobby in their wet bathing suit and a towel and barefoot to prove they belong in the hotel and should be let into their room when that guest is explaining their anxiety with being almost naked in front of strangers.. They could ask for identifying information from the phone when I called to ask for help from the pool floor to be helped into my room.
It was an unfortunate experience.
Based on what I have heard from the corporate Hilton office, they are reviewing their policies.
Never ate at the restaurant. Love the views. Beds are comfy.
Views are ok.
Good location.
Fun decorations.
