Detailed Reviews
This hotel did an outstanding job for our one night layover in Montreal. The room was comfortable and totally silent. It was also not drafty or stuffy, perfect climate control. As Platinum members, we got a coupon for drinks in the bar and full buffet breakfast included. Both of these were much better than the option of an "elite lounge", with better food and drink than one would get in those lounges.
Hotel is also connected to underground passageway network. You can walk all the way to the central city commercial district without venturing onto cold and slippery sidewalks.

Took the family to Montreal after Christmas, having always just passed through on the highway, this was our first visit. The Westin appeared to be in a central location and for a little extra I got a room with a view. It was a little pricey but a room with a view and luxury during the holidays sounded perfect.
On arrival we discovered that parking is not included with the reservation. Valet is the only option at an additional $30+/night otherwise you need to find other parking. Check in was pleasant and the lobby was clean and nicely decorated. Our room was spacious and the beds were comfortable, nothing really luxurious or unique about it. Ice machine on our floor was not working.
After an 8 hour drive, I had a bit of a headache and forgot to bring along something for that. The hotel had no way to help me, nothing in the lobby store but they did give me directions to the closest convenience store only a 10 minute walk away, good thing my kids are teenagers so they could be left alone. Headed out just in time for the clubs in the area to start to fill the streets.
Next morning when we expected to see a beautiful view of the city and were confused as to what view we were supposed to be paying for... rooftops filled with cooling units? A small empty park with nothing going on across the street? (see pictures)
We hit the street to explore Montreal, great adventure. We ALL had a had a great time. Our challenge was the sheet of ice that covered the city overnight but we found our way through the underground and just moved a little slower. Had a great day together. Came back to the hotel ready to put our feet up for a bit and planned to head out for supper. We ended up deciding to go to the hotel restaurant instead of more walking. Hotel restaurant was small and had little to offer, I know we were in a city that has a lot to offer for culinary adventure but doesn't that mean that a luxury hotel has a high bar to meet?
Leaving the hotel the next morning I felt duped, I have stayed in value hotels that offered the same comfort. There was no flash, pampering or over the top service at the Westin. As the valet brought our car up I felt a little anger setting in feeling under serviced and not valued.
Montreal was exciting and welcoming. We plan to return to the city but we will not return to the Westin.

We decided to stop over in Montreal on our way for our annual ski trip to Mont Tremblant. We chose Le Westin as it was recommended by my BIL and the price was reasonable. The property is relatively new and has a great indoor parking area that is great to keep you sheltered from the winter weather. We checked-in and the front desk associate noticed that we had young kids and asked if we were going to use the pool. My kids love hotel pools. So, the answer was a resounding "yes". He pointed out that the pool has a glass bottom that you can see down into the indoor parking area. He was also able to find a room on the 4th floor (same as the pool) so it was convenient for us to get to the pool. After a few hours in the pool, we changed and walked to Gibby's for a great steak dinner. Overall, a great stay and I would recommend it to anyone that wants to stay in Montreal and be close to Old Montreal. The bathroom is great and had a huge shower. Since it's a Westin, the beds are very comfortable.

I've stayed exclusively at this hotel frequently since its opening. In the past service was great; the bar area provided good [buffet] breakfasts, room service was timely, valet parking (though expensive) was efficient, rooms were cleaned and stocked with essentials. NOT SO NOW! the only positive is its adjacency to Old Montreal. My sister and I visited together in October with only moderate positive differences. At the time there were very early morning protests and when I commented to front desk we were not offered a room change further from the ruckus. Covid changed a great deal, but that should be no excuse for the extreme reduction in services and customer care.
So this time around it's winter... I get it! They ultimately comped parking since it was DIY without signs showing direction to elevators (I got lost in the garage for a bit). In & out required finding someone to provide access (not easy when returning at night and with limited staff day and night). No restaurant upstairs or downstairs. Room was not cleaned for the 3 night stay, limited bathroom amenities were not replenished. The food I bought and put in the refrigerator froze. I could have stayed in a Motel 6 at a much lower cost for all the services provided. This hotel chain managed property has not been a 4 or 5 star stay (it begs even 2 stars) nor a full service experience! VERY DISSAPOINTED so I returned home earlier than planned. I'll be returning for family visits but I may be looking for another place to stay. Pity.

Stayed with my family of 5 for 2 nights. Staff upon arrival was super helpful, friendly, and inviting. The lobby and building itself was big and gorgeous. Our room was larger than expected, up to date, well kept, and super clean. I also really loved the facial soap provided as well as their soap dispensers in the shower! They have an indoor pool area, it was perfect for the kids and they actually had a cart filled with miscellaneous pool toys, floatation boards and noodles, life jackets, etc of different sizes for the kids and a lifeguard/pool attendant was there all of the times that we used to pool. We found a life jacket for my 3 year old that was just the right size and it was amazing having the option to use it as she really enjoyed learning to swim around all by herself while wearing it! That was a nice touch for sure. They have a regular pool, hot tub, cold pool, sauna, and a shower to rinse off. They also have a nice gym.
We had a minor issues with our room but staff was very quick to fix it for us. House keeping came every day, and extra supplies were brought to our room immediately upon asking for it.
Check out was smooth as staff was so helpful - they called a cab for us and took out our luggage for us.
All in all loved this hotel, would stay again for sure. Location is really good, great for the kids, and the adults loved it too! Excellent value for the cost.

We love the location - just a few blocks away from Notre Dame Cathedral, tons of cute and delicious cafes nearby, Old Port and Old Montreal are also all walking distance. Even downtown is just 15 min walk. We booked a room with King size bed, room was spacious and a sofa bed was a nice surprise. Hotel was clean all around, limited number of guests in pool which was great to maintain social distance, sanitizers available eveywhere. Front desk was helpful and provided awesome customer service. Even valet was efficient. We'll definitely book again next time we visit Montreal.

When we arrived at Montreal Central Station (Gare Centrale de Montréal) from Quebec City by VIA Rail Canada, we took a taxi for short ride to Le Westin Montreal. The hotel had modern facilities with spacious lobby. After the routine check-in process, we went into our room. The clean modern room had all the amenities expected from high class hotels, including a mini-refrigerator, safe, iron & ironing board free Wifi. The bed was comfortable, and the window view of St. Lawrence River over the rooftops of the nearby buildings was agreeable. The buffet breakfast was sumptuous. As for the staff members’ services, they were efficient but lacked human touch. To look around the hotel’s neighborhood, we walked out of the hotel, and turned to the right. Within 2 minutes of walk, we saw, across the street, the entrance to the infamous Montreal’s Underground City with numerous shops and a metro station. We passed the Underground City entrance, and continued to walk along the street (Saint Antoine Street W) to the major intersection with “St. Urbain Street” to the left (leading to China Town) and “Cote del la Place d’Armes” to the right (leading to Notre Dame Basilica and Old Montreal). By the way, the street outside the hotel, Saint Antoine Street W) was not a street for pleasant strolling. It was rather the kind of street to walk along fast to reach our destination, because there were no shops, eateries, or attractions along the street.

Stayed here for 5 nights and loved every minute of it! We were provided with excellent and friendly service in every department, front desk met our needs with moving us to adjoining rooms for our party of 4, house keeping did a spectacular job of cleaning our room each day, valets stored our items carefully when dropped off shopping bags even our bag of bagels was handled with care. The location was excellent, we were in walking distance of all of Old Town and many evenings walked home from our dinners downtown. High recommend this hotel to everyone and will stay there again for future visits.

Three of us stayed in a 2-queen bed room (1910) then switched to a king room (1409) when one of us left after attending a conference. Both rooms were very nice. Great air conditioning and views! Appreciate the environmentally friendly in-shower amenities so as not to waste plastic bottles and little bars of soap. Lovely art in lobby. Dave at front desk was particularly helpful and provided restaurant recommendations that were much appreciated. Breakfast at the Gazette cafe was included for our stay but we didn’t realize it was only for the buffet so we ordered off the menu; our waiter Jean-Luc was very kind to sort it out, much appreciated. All the hotel staff we encountered was very nice. Location was very convenient, with direct indoor access (third floor passage) to the conference center and the underground city and metros. We will book this hotel again when we visit Montréal!

I know that Monreal has recently reopened and this has greatly affected the hospitality/ service industry but this experience is downright bad. When I check-in in, there was a woman scolding someone at the front desk and I said to myself “ who is this crazy person?”. I now empathize with her. From long lines to park to long lines to check in, many aspects were expected. But this is the end of day 2 of our stay and our room has yet to be cleaned. A guy we met by the pool said he was on day 3 with the same results. Now, I would be understanding if we were told this before or when we checked in. But we have made 3 calls for simple requests:
Day 1 for more shampoo, this afternoon for our trash to be picked up, and over an hour ago for a second request for our trash to be picked up and for fresh towels. I even asked if there was a place I can take it as I know they are understaffed. Each time we were assured someone would be on their way and each time no one came. It’s one thing to be understaffed. It’s another to be downright dishonest. Tomorrow will be day 3 with trash overflowing and we are out of coffee and toilet paper. I can call but I have a feeling I will be left disappointed again. All in all this has been an extremely unfortunate experience and will without a doubt affect my decision to book with the Westin brand moving forward.

Responded Apr 18, 2022
Dear Yg20910, Thank you for your response and sharing your very detailed experience with us. I would first off like to apologize for the level of service experienced as it not a Westin experience. Admittingly, we are experiencing staff shortages and many of our team that has returned are new with us and we are still working through some training. It does not excuse by any means the quality of service you have experienced, but with the volume we experiences last weekend, it did overwhelm our team particularly in our housekeeping department. I will be meeting with my team to review your feedback and identify our missed steps and diligently work to resolve as quickly as possible. Should your travels bring you back to Montreal, please reach out to me directly as we would love the opportunity to make it up to you.

Washington DC, District of Columbia12 contributions16 helpful votesCan anyone provide me with information regarding the type of cribs available? Are they a full-size crib or a pack n play? I've called but each time the hotel is unable to really describe it.
Hi Leanne,
I just called them and they confirmed it is a crib and not a playpen. I have travelled with my grand daughter and always got a crib at every hotel. Enjoy your time in Montreal, it’s a beautiful city.
