Booked a room here with my husband for a long weekend Thursday, March 5 to Sunday, March 8. We abruptly left on Saturday night (3/7). On Saturday morning I woke up with what looked like bug bites on my chest/shoulder area. I didn't think much of it until I started noticing more bites. I did a search around the mattress and found a dried up bed bug and gave it to the front desk. He immediately switched rooms for us to a different floor. Needless to say, I couldn't sit in the new room either, so my husband and I hit the road for NYC at 6pm. We asked for just one nights refund to the front desk and he advised us to call booking.com because that's where we booked the hotel. Lots of back and forth between booking.com and empire suites. Eventually we get a hold of the supervisor of the hotel who says he would've given us a free breakfast if we had stayed. (NO WAY would I have eaten there if I couldn't sleep there!) So my husband calls the following day to talk to the GM. She says they did not find any bed bugs in the room even though we had given a bug to the front desk. I not only found a dead bug but also remnants of bed bugs (dry blood specs). The GM says how did we get bit on Saturday when we were there since Thursday. (Through a simple google search, beg bug bites can start to appear 2 weeks after the actual bite). The GM claims that she also cannot refund us anything and that we would have to speak with the owner. It has now been over 3 weeks and we have yet to hear anything back. Highly recommend to stay somewhere else. I have photos of bites.

This shouldn’t be your first choice for accommodation. It serves a purpose as a room with a bed that has a lockable door. Woke up in the middle of the night from the guest snoring next door. Montreal buildings are known to be infamously thin, but for a hotel this is bad. Pillows were flat like a piece of paper. The outlets in the bathroom didn’t work. The room has clearly gone through some wear and tear and was dusty. Surfaces left a Lysol wipe grey. The room could benefit from more lighting too in addition to a total renovation.

Stay FAR away from this hotel. Worst hotel experience EVER.
The AC worked only when it wanted to, there was no one to help us (I was travelling with two kids), when my daughter went to shower, there was a used bar of hotel soap stuck to the towel. Upon taking the towel to the front desk, the staff actually responded with “ I don’t think the soap has been used”
Additionally, the covering of the bathroom electrical outlet was completely off and resting on the counter.
The bed was very uncomfortable… I could feel the springs on the mattress…
The staff were rude and VERY UNHELPFUL. I asked several times to speak to the manager and it was never possible…
I would have left the hotel, however it was a long weekend and very difficult to find a reasonably priced room at the last minute.
Worst hotel. RUN, don’t walk away from this place!

Very dishonest and rude people!!! The General Manager is very rude! It was the worst experience ever! We travel a lot and I have worked for the 5 star hospitality industry for 3 years and we never had a experience like that. As soon as we landed in Montreal around 9-10pm we found a message in our inbox saying that our reservation for 7 days was canceled. We called the hotel and they told us to go there that they will resolve the issue. When we arrived at the hotel they told us that they have a room available just for 2 days and they won’t charge the same price that we had payed before, but it Will cost more. They tried to get advanced of the situation as it was 11pm already and they know that we wouldn’t have any other place to go. Beside we have our daughter and soon with us. After a lot of talking they agree to charge the same that we have paid before, but not for 7 days. We have my daughter and soon with me and my soon is a minor. When the two days passed they told us that they have the Room for the other days available, but again they want to charge us more and again tried to take advanced of the situation. In the meantime we had my daughter at the hospital as she was not felling well. They agree to charge the same that we have paid before they canceled our reservation. When we checked out they confirmed that they would give us back the 250 deposit. We thought that everything it was resolved at the end, but after 15 days, nothing was reverted. We called them today and they said that they are not giving the deposit fee back. I don’t want even talk about the room. Very bad maintained. The modern photos are just for the lobby. The rooms are pretty old and bad maintained. I never wrote reviews, but it is a very dishonest business. They are refusing to give our 250 security deposit back! They are a completely SCAM! After Reading some of the reviews I can see that what happened to my family it seems to be a common scam scheme they apply to the guests. We are looking for a way to report this business. Please avoid this place!

This has been the worse hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Very unclean. Bathroom with black marks, terrible decoration. Old furniture that needs repairs. Rooms are supposed to be non-smoking and room had the terrible smell of cigarrettes and more. Tried to change to another room and told us there were no more rooms. Air condition did not worked either. Window could not be opened. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AT ALL.

Poor customer service, rude employees, wonky wi-fi. Sometimes electricity in room wouldn't work and wifi password was changed unknowingly. I appreciate that I had a bed to sleep on and a nice renovated shower, but everything else...hmm.

I regretfully rented a room at Empire Suites Montreal on August 2024. Not only it took forever to check in, but I was charged $51.74 for a 1-day parking spot when it costs less than half that price to park down the street.
My main issue with this establishment is the staff and the management. When I went to the front desk to inquire about breakfast options later on, I was completely ignored by the working staff. Not only the gentleman didn't bother acknowledging my presence despite me being at only a few centimeters from him, but he pretended during 10 minutes that I was not there at all. I have never experienced something like this before.
I tried to contact the management regarding this odd behaviour, but of course, they never bothered replying to me. They probably have to many complaints to deal with.
I have no choice but to not recommend this place to anyone. There are far better options at a similar price in the same area. I know that speaking for myself, I will never return there.

Absolutely the worst hotel it was so bad we left, it doesn't even deserve a 1 star. The women at the desk Fatima was so rude she even smirked at me when i asked for help, needing a extra sleeping set for the pull out couch, the photos say it all, she gave me a blue rag and said, sorry we are full and that is it. I asked to speak to a manager and she smirked again saying there was no managers until monday, what kind of hotel leaves their untrained rude staff. DO NOT STAY !!!!! we called Agoda who we booked with to say we wanted a refund and sent pictures, the customer representative tried to call the hotel to clarify the situation and they didnt even pick up, the same thing happened when i tried to call to ask for extra bedding no response. I am not a person who even leaves reviews but this hotel needs to be avoided. The pictures say it all.
