My husband and I spent just one night at Le Petit Hotel back in May of this year, however, one night was enough to know the next time we visited Montreal we would be back. We're headed back to Montreal next month and have booked two nights at this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect. It's an easy walk to...

We took a cruise from Boston to Montreal with a three night layover in Montreal. Wow! This was our first stay in the Le Petit Hotel and we couldn't believe the luxury. This gem of a hotel is strategically located in the heart of Old Town, near the Old Piers, the Basilica Notre Dame, fabulous restaurants (Gibby's, etc.,) the Archeology...

We spent 4 nights in Le Petit Hotel in October of 2016. Interesting small (28 room) boutique hotel ideally located in the middle of Old Montreal. Many museums and tons of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. We had a 2nd floor "Large" room and it was spacious enough to spread out. Rooms and public spaces were all spotless....

My husband and I stayed at Le Petit for a long weekend get away to relax. The hotel was located on a beautiful old stone street in a perfect location for site seeing, restaurants and shopping. It was a quick easy walk to beautiful Notradam church, the port and metro station. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was...

We stayed at Le Petit Hotel for two nights in early September. Their rooms are categorized as S,M,L,XL. We had booked a Medium but were upgraded to a Large at check-in. The room had plenty of space to spread out - large armoire, room safe, desk etc. The only complaint I have - and it's certainly not a deal breaker...

We have stayed here several times and we would not stay anywhere else. The service is excellent, the staff pay attention to detail, he rooms are clean, well appointed and the beds are really cozy. The cappuccinos are top notch, it is nice to have access to good coffee first thing in the morning. The continental breakfast is excellent!

We have traveled extensively and never had a more kind, caring and lovely group of staff than at the La Petit Hotel. The GPS (rental car) stopped working on our way into Montreal and Carlos directed turn-by-turn for over 1/2 hour. Extremely helpful in navigating the city, finding great restaurants within walking distance, setting us up with bicycles to explore,...

Had a lovely one night stay at Le Petit Hotel in Vieux Montreal. Hotel is charming and right in the centre of things. Only faults were the softness of the mattress (too soft for our liking and we are both fit and not over weight people) and our room had a shower unit with a four head body shower of...

Had a lovely 3 night stay at this super hotel. Great, friendly and helpful staff who make some great coffee and excellent suggestions for sightseeing (for example the botanical gardens) and eating out (Holders restaurant, everything is superb from the service through to the deserts) in Montreal. The room was trendy and spotlessly clean, with a large (hello where are...

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
