Hi I had to stay in Montreal randomly for one night and so I booked the room two nights before, via the website for the hotel (thinking that would be the most legitimate way to do it) at the end of the reservation on the site had entered all of my credit card data, my name, email etc and got...

I stayed at the Newstar Motel for 4 months and was paying monthly. Then I paid for 1 week and they locked me out of my room. When I questioned why, they claimed they paid me $199.00 cash after I paid the same amount by credit card. This was false but on this basis they evicted me !!!!!!

The place has been around awhile. The modernized the reception area to look not bad but when you go into the rooms they look like they haven't even cleaned in 40 years. Doesn't this place have a cleaning staff? I've never seen anything so disgusting in my life. No working WiFi. Television what a joke, you can't see anything at...

Drove from Virginia saw this place. What a mistake. Expensive price for nothing in return. No working WiFi , restaurant wasn't open yet they advertised open 24 hrs. Room very dust, not very clean, bugs all over the room. Sheets had cigarette burns. So did blankets and covers. No TV channels work other than French and porn and you could...

On a recent business trip I came across this place. Went to check out the room before I I turned it down. Blood spots on pillow cases, newer small flatscreen tv hooked up to French language channels and two porn channels. Picture quality you couldn't even see the picture. WiFi couldn't connect to my cell so probably my computer would...

Nothing but Bed Bugs. No TV. No WiFi. No service. No restaurant. Rude ignorance at front desk. Filthy rooms. Mouldy bathrooms. Wouldn't refund my money. Left anyway down the street to the Universal. Never again at the Newstar. Never.

Stayed 2 nights travelling trough Montreal and it was a total disgusting nightmare. The rooms are disgusting and very dirty. Bathrooms are dirty and mouldy. Front desk staff are very ignorant not to mention rude. If you need anything fixed and call front desk they tell you sorry no one is here. Everyone's favourite BEDBUGS crawl over bed and pillows...

The front desk staff is rude, the rooms are dirty, and the hotel seems to rent out to a lot of hookers and Jons. I would advise that unless your into that sort of thing avoid this hotel there are much nicer in the area for a similar price.

Was at this hotel for just one night (69.99 plus tax), it is in a very French part of Montreal . The room is basic with old hardwood floors, simple simple furnishings . it looks a little rough from the outside , but it is winter, hard to tell how the grounds look . There is no continental breakfast, not...

We stayed there because we had to attend a wedding in St-Leonard and we didn't want to take our car. We needed to find a place to stay that was near enough. Every hotel/motel in St-Leonard looked crappy, and this one was the "best of worst"... It was clean, although my boyfriend found some hair on his towel. However, we...

Staying in Saint-Leonard

Neighbourhood Profile
Another focal point of Montreal's Italian community, Saint-Léonard appeals to families and the young at heart, with caverns to explore, museums to take in, and games to play. This is typified by the borough's Leonardo Da Vinci Centre, where visitors are just as likely to view an opera in its plush auditorium as they are to jump onto the lawn for a round of bocce ball. Burn off pasta calories with a stroll through Galerie Port-Maurice, a swim in the massive indoor pool of Complexe Aquatique, or on the steep ramps at Giuseppe-Garibalidi skate park. Perhaps the most curious and magical feature of the district can be viewed by boat on the waters of the underground lake in Saint-Leonard Cavern. A dazzling natural wonder, the sun dapples through the subterranean setting, lighting the bulbous formations of stalagmites and stalactites, and setting the water ablaze with color. Truly a place for an out-of-the-ordinary adventure.
