A symbol of Old Montreal's rich history, Auberge du Vieux-Port is the area's only hotel settled along the Saint Lawrence River. The two structures that house its 45 rooms are over a century and a half old and once operated as warehouses, back when the waterway still forged city's life vein. With a classic, skillfully crafted make up, the idyllic inn's decor and architecture breathe an air of authenticity. Embrace time-honoured scenery, complemented by our team's warm, personable services. CITQ 127245

The Valet, Yves, was super helpful during our checkout process. And the entire staff has our compliments for their outstanding service. The room was very comfortable and clean. Our room faced the river and we loved the tall windows. The hotel is walking distance to everything you'd want to see in Old Montreal. We will definitely stay here again.

This was the perfect hotel for our trip to Montreal! It's in the heart of Old Montreal, adjacent to two restaurants (Gaspar & Pincette - Bar à Homard, both terrific), and across the street from all that the riverfront has to offer. What made this hotel special were the people. The concierge took care of our car and bags, all while warmly welcoming us to Montreal. The staff answered the many questions we had about the city. One maid went out of her way to find a thinner pillow when I asked if one was available. Everyone was wonderful! The hotel itself has a *very* comfortable lobby area, complete with leather chairs and sofas. Coffee and cookies are put out daily. The rooms are well done. I don't know how they managed the ventilation system, but despite long hot showers, we never steamed up the mirror! Best of all, the staff opened the rooftop deck so that the guests could enjoy the eclipse on April 8th. We didn't expect this, and it ended up being the absolute perfect place to view the big event! I highly recommend the Auberge du Vieux-Port if you are planning on visiting Montreal.

This is such a beautiful hotel with such fantastic character! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The valets, Eve and Thierry went above and beyond by getting items I forgot in my car and personally brought them back to my room. I wish I had all the names of the staff I encountered because every single one of them made me feel welcome.

Top of my list for hotels - great location for walking the city, especially the Old City and Port. The hotel has a warm and charming historic character; room was spacious and sunlit; staff are professional and friendly. Thomas is a down to earth and knowledgeable concierge. I felt very welcome and comfortable as a solo traveler.

We just spent a weekend here and were extremely impressed. An old historic building located on the river really doesn't have to try very hard and doesn't have to prove anything. This hotel did and does. Yes, it's elegant. Yes, it's gorgeous. Yes, it's charming. However, the staff are down to earth and welcoming to all. All of the little touches that make a good hotel, a great hotel are here. Comfy beds with good pillows, well equipped washroom facilities with REALLY nice toiletries, and restaurants that are worth staying in for. Because of our Expedia VIP status, we were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a lovely card. We were sad to leave. Thank you to all staff for warming up our winter!

We had a wonderful stay at the Auberge du Vieux-Porte! The hotel itself is incredibly charming, with a lot of warmth and personality. The rooms were comfortable and I loved the exposed brick. We paid a little extra for the river view, and I’m glad we did. The restaurant on site is quite good and the cocktails at the bar are excellent. But what really made this such a lovely stay is the staff. The employees are so friendly and helpful, they really seem to enjoy working there. In particular, the concierge Thomas is amazing. He helped us plan a full day itinerary that absolutely made our trip so much fun. Definitely lean on his expertise and recommendations - you won’t be disappointed! All in all, this is a fantastic hotel and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was a surprise weekend for my wife's birthday and the stay couldn't have been better. Montreal works as an all-season destination, of course. Great dining nearby, there's skating, river views, really good museums, architecture and more. This hotel was new to us, but located in the Old Port area, I figured we'd be fine. It was far better than expected. it's located in an early 19th century stone warehouse, right along the front street of the river. There are two really good restaurants, both with full-service bars. For small groups, there is a meeting room area, too. Tomas was our concierge. He was terrific with ideas and suggestions of places to go, things to see and of course, restaurants (if you're not a foodie, you'll be one by the time you leave! Montreal has great choices...). The place was comfortable, clean, really well maintained and the staff knows exactly that the best way to treat guests is with a smile, graciousness and personally. Highly recommended.
