This hotel is ideally located in Old Montreal. It's walking distance to the Norte Dame basilica and Place De Arms metro station. An 8 min taxi ride from Gare Centrale as well! The hotel is old and quaint with a warm and rustic feel (perfect in fall/winter months). Every room either has exposed brick or stone and the maintenance is...

Wonderful hotel - refurbished warehouse on the water at the port. The architects did an incredible job in maintaining the history while supplying all modern conveniences. The only reason the hotel is not a 5 star is because they could not fit a pool on the premises, no wonder. Pool and gym are available a couple of blocks away. The...

I have travelled all over the world and I am one of those annoying, picky guests that notices EVERYTHING. I searched and searched before my trip to Montreal for the perfect place to stay. It had to have 4 star and above, good view and not insanely expensive. I was going there for my daughter's 21st birthday to surprise her....

We spent three nights at the Auberge du Vieux-Porte. We were in room 502. The room overlooked the river. We chose the hotel because it was located near the cruise terminal and because of its location in old Montreal. We were very pleased with the hotel. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. It had...

Spent three days in Old Montreal and this hotel was a treat. Visually charming with an extremely comfortable bed and spotlessly clean throughout. The staff is pleasant, always helpful and very well informed. The location is ideal and breakfast is included. Would recommend highly to friends and will definitely return here when next in Montreal

This place is so charming. Apparently and old warehouse retrofit. Our room faced the port street. Well appointed room, very comfortable bed. The large window opened and you can peer out and watch the horse drawn carriages clip clop down the street. Many things to easily walk to. Great recommendations for dinner. Staff was too notch. Breakfast was excellent.

My partner & myself stay here from October 8-12, 2014. This hotel is great! We were in room 502 and had a great view of the river. The location in Old Montreal is great. Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.

A symbol of Old Montreal's rich history, Auberge du Vieux-Port is the area's only hotel settled along the Saint Lawrence River. The two structures that house its 45 rooms are over a century and a half old and once operated as warehouses, back when the waterway still forged city's life vein. With a classic, skillfully crafted make up, the idyllic inn's decor and architecture breathe an air of authenticity.
