The Novotel Montreal Centre earns praise for its welcoming service and prime location that puts guests within easy reach of Montreal's attractions. The ambiance near the Bell Centre is often highlighted, with guests enjoying the spacious and modern rooms. However, some visitors note that while the rooms are generally comfortable, there are occasional maintenance issues. The hotel's cleanliness is consistently applauded, though opinions on value and amenities are mixed; comfortable beds are a plus, but limited breakfast options and the absence of complimentary lobby coffee have been noted, with some guests questioning the overall value for the price.

The room is large, clean and comfortable. The hotel is well-structured and well-located, including very close to the 767 bus stop that goes directly to the airport. Breakfast has several options, but it is a bit confusing on some days. And my Accor Gold status was worth nothing when I requested an early check-in, which I was denied - even though the hotel had several rooms available. The cost-benefit seems a bit disproportionate to me. The staff is generally friendly.

This was our first stay at Novotel and my family enjoyed it. The hotel is in a good location within walking distance to Notre Dame Basilica, Mont Royal Park, Old Montreal, shopping malls, underground city, Chinatown, etc. The room was very clean, the bathroom was very nice and modern, and the beds and were comfortable. I thought the staff at the front desk were courteous and helpful as well as in the hotel restaurant. For our convenience, we booked the room that included breakfast and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet which included assorted fresh fruits, hot and cold breakfast items, croissants, muffins, cereals, juices and fresh coffee. They do not have free parking, but there is a parking garage under the hotel that is $30 CAD per night and we were able to charge to our room and go in/out anytime. Overall, I thought this hotel was a good value as other hotels in the area were charging more.

We stayed in this hotel because of its very good location close to Ste Catherine Street, the metro, the Bell Center, Place des Arts... A 747 bus stop (airport/city center bus.) is 100 minutes away. meters. The hotel is clean and nicely decorated. We needed a PRM room. It was completely wheelchair accessible with an Italian shower and removable seat.
Very good and plentiful breakfast.
The staff is pleasant and available (small mention to Demba for his sympathy, his help during the breakfast service and his professionalism.)
It's a good hotel to discover Montreal!

Location is great. We walked from Central Station. It’s a few blocks but was easy enough. One block down from the hotel is the expressway to the airport. It’s downtown, half a block from Rue St Catherine (the main shopping street) and you can walk to Old Montreal easily.

Checkin was pleasant. No mention of my platinum status. The welcome amenity was a paper bag of chips and a bottle of water. The welcome drink voucher was much more generous including any drink from the bar. Nicely done.

The room (7th floor) faced away from the street so it was very quiet. In fact the hotel is between major streets so it’s very quiet in general - a major plus for cities such as Montreal.

Enough space, air con ok, wifi great, bathroom very good (except the soap pump nozzles didn’t return to the up position so you really only got one squirt each time - frustrating).

Breakfast was good with a pleasant team. Some more healthy options would have been appreciated (like the photo in the lift.)

Nice bar area including a great outdoor terasse to watch people go by on the street. A real asset.

On our leaving morning a cleaner knocked on our door about 9am asking if we wanted towels (or was she seeing if we left a tip?).

Apart from this little issue I’d be very happy staying here again. Quiet, comfortable and close to everything.

I have stayed in many hotels my entire life but never stayed in one where its toilet got plugged until I stayed in this hotel! Toilet blockage did not even happen in the youth hostels I stayed in when I was young. For the price we paid, we knew we were not staying in a four-star hotel but we expected it as a "decent" hotel.

The amenities are limited; no hair conditioners or body lotions. Some paint on the back of the bathroom door and ceiling were bubbling and starting to peel off. The room did not have any written information about the hotel (such as the time for check-in, room service menu, fridge bar prices, etc) and I tried to find the info on the "hotel channel" on the room TV, but it showed nothing.

After all, I do not think we will choose to stay in this hotel again. We will pay a little more to stay in a nearby hotel where toilets won't get plugged in the middle of the night.

Come here annually, never disappointed except this year you need to swipe key yo enter the front doors after midnight.

This was one of the first hotels I traveled to that put usb's and plugs by the bed. Also, they use bottled shampoo etc instead of single use.

Come here if you need to be close to downtown or if you're going to a Habs game.

We have come to the end of a very pleasant stay at the Novotel in Montreal. Very conveniently located near the city centre, McGill University, the art galleries and public transport.

We had a very well appointed room on the ninth floor with one of the nicest and most efficient bathrooms we can recall. The bed was very comfortable and the room spacious and very well appointed.

It has always been our experience that the staff are the backbone and soul of a hotel and we would like to acknowledge Sabrina who went out of her way to make our stay so comfortable. Always so helpful and welcoming and very happy to offer assistance when asked.

We would certainly stay here again should we return and thank the management for their welcoming note in our room on our arrival late in the evening after a full day of travel.

Expensive, but good hotel in downtown Montreal with a stop from the 747 airport bus just around the corner. Many shops, pubs and restaurants within walking distance, a ten minute walk from the Central Station and a thirty minute walk to Quartier Latin (Rue Saint Dennis). Staff is pleasant and professional, but at reception and in the bar/restaurant. Excellent house keeping service. The room and bathroom were kept very clean. A good and comfortable bed. The room I stayed in (921, on the top floor) doesn't have a view, but was large enough. Tea and coffee are provided and the room has a minibar and fridge. There is also a desk with a chair. A couple of strange things. There aren't any shelves in the closet (hanging space only), so you have to store everything that can't hang out in the open under your bedside table. Plugs to reload your phone in a twin room can only be found next to one of the beds. There are some above the desk though. The couch in the room was worn out and should be replaced. Overall, the price paid was high, but the room was worth it. On my next visit to Montreal (four days from June 8, 2023), I will choose to stay here again, even though the roomrate is more than CA $250 a night, taxes ecluded. To be fair, all four and five star hotels are very expensive in downtown Montreal. A bit the same rates you will find in top destinations like New York or London.

Location was great, rooms were very comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly. We went to Montreal for a show at the Bell Centre and we could easily walk there. There are coffee machines in the room but we hoped they would have free coffee in the lobby which they did not. Also, if I returned I would ask to stay on the front side of the hotel - there was a lot of noise in the back (garbage dumpsters I think). All in all a very good stay at a reasonable price. I would return!

Bedroom with bed + sofa bed. Very decent size, equipped with a Nespresso coffee maker and kettle. Ironing board and iron as well as hair dryer.
Comfortable bed, very clean room and impeccable shower and toilet.
We spent 7 days there, the room was made every morning, the room staff was efficient and discreet.
At the very professional reception staff, all our requests were taken into account quickly and efficiently (bath linen and extra pillow because there were 3 of us and only had two bath towels, late departure, loan of umbrella... )
The hotel restaurant where we had breakfast is quiet and not crowded in the morning. The buffet breakfast includes sweet and savory options. Yogurt, fruit, cold meats, eggs, pastries...everything was very good.
Very good family stay, we will come back without hesitation.

I am sorry but I am travelling solo when I stay here - if you are a member of the Accor chain which includes Novotel you can set up a customer profile with your preferences or when you make the reservation you can make the request - good luck.

During normal times there is a buffet breakfast that is excellent and is also suitable for vegetarians. However, during these pandemic conditions they have either eliminated it or limited to weekends. It would be best to call the hotel directly and ask.
