We have stayed at this hotel multiple times to go the Habs Games at the Bell Centre. The location can't be beat for our purposes. The staff are always very friendly. The hotel itself is a bit worn, rooms are spacious but have a bit of wear and tear. Underground parking available which is great in the city.

Hotel's Favourite
This was our first stay at Novotel and my family enjoyed it. The hotel is in a good location within walking distance to Notre Dame Basilica, Mont Royal Park, Old Montreal, shopping malls, underground city, Chinatown, etc. The room was very clean, the bathroom was very nice and modern, and the beds and were comfortable. I thought the staff at the front desk were courteous and helpful as well as in the hotel restaurant. For our convenience, we booked the room that included breakfast and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet which included assorted fresh fruits, hot and cold breakfast items, croissants, muffins, cereals, juices and fresh coffee. They do not have free parking, but there is a parking garage under the hotel that is $30 CAD per night and we were able to charge to our room and go in/out anytime. Overall, I thought this hotel was a good value as other hotels in the area were charging more.

Novotel Montreal is an ideal hotel to stay at due to its proximity to most of downtown Montreal. The shopping area is within a few minutes walk, as are some of the best cafes, restaurants, and dining areas. It is also a quick hop to Chinatown. The Metro station is about a 5-min walk and there is a bus stop just around the corner. We arrived at the hotel around 8am and surprisingly a room was already available for us to check in to. The rooms are pretty adequate and have lots of space. The bed is very comfortable and the amenities (esp. coffee machine) are great! Loved the blackout curtains to keep the room dark even with the bright street lights at night.

Pros: Friendly staff, very comfy bed, large room, modern bathroom. Breakfast was of a good quality but lacked range for the high price. Lenient with check-in and out (allowed an extra couple hours each side). Cons: Room was outdated: cupboard hinge broken and lamp falling off the wall. Insufficient room lighting. Limited amenities (no hair conditioner, slippers, bottled water, hair net etc). The price was high ($200+ non-cancellable per night inc tax & breakfast) considering most 4* competitors offer all these amenities in better-maintained rooms for comparable rate. Overall average stay. I wouldn't rebook unless they made necessary renovations, increased amenity/breakfast offering, or reduced the price.

Hotel is close to metro stations, Rue Saint Catherine, good restaurants, Eaton Mall. Staff on front desk were always really nice and helpful! Bed was good and shower was also pretty good. No complains at all, I’d definitely stay on Novotel again.

I have started staying at this hotel as I have found the prices at other downtown hotels to be rather expensive. I was pleasantly surprised after staying here 2 times. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were clean and well maintained. The location is very very tell to downtown and the subway. I will be back! On one stay I was granted a very early check-in which made my weekend!

We stayed a long weekend in at the Novotel and enjoyed the sights of Montreal from 12-15 October 2023. The hotel is well located -- easily walkable to the Bell Centre or to nearby Museums, McGill, Mont Royal, etc. Nearby dining options are plentiful. The room was a bit tight for 4 people (2 adults, 2 kids), but overall fine. Our interactions with staff members were pleasant -- every one is helpful and well trained. The only downside I noticed was some street noise (our room faced Rue de Montagne). If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room on another hallway. Breakfast was amazing! Such helpful staff and a wonderful buffet and great coffee. And to the earlier reviewer who complained about no bottled water -- just drink from the tap and bring your own reusable water bottle to fill from the tap. The tap water tasted great! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to a friend. and I would stay again.

This hotel is in a good location - within walking distance to a lot of attractions and 5 minutes from the metro. There are also a lot of great places to eat on the surrounding streets. The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. One day I saw the girl on the reception spend a lot of time helping an older guest figure out how to use her mobile phone in Canada. She was patient and helpful with something that I’m certain is not part of her job description. The rooms were clean and had everything you needed for your stay. It was quite pricey but that’s standard for downtown hotels in major cities. I would happily stay here again.

Location is good if you want to be near the shopping street. After being here for two days, I would recommend to stay somewhere close to old town. Upon entering the Novotel I was really shocked. The entrance area is lit in a very uncomfortable light. The furniture is completely run down and it does not invite one to take a seat. Being used to Novotels in Asia and Europe, there is a lot that has to be done at this one. The room is run down and needs a change in carpentry, curtains, doors, furniture etc. The lighting in the room is comparable to the dressing stalls at a shopping mall, very uncomfortable. You get free Nespresso capsules but no complimentary bottle of water? Come on, this hotel should definitely get these priorities straight. I originally booked other nights in this hotel but cancelled and booked somewhere else. It’s just not a hotel you walk into and feel comfortable.

I am sorry to read about your experience, our rooms have been renovated not too long ago so I am sorry you feel they are run down, as for the water our drinking water is completely potable we encourage our guests to take this option to eliminate waste. However, there is bottled water in the minibar if the guests prefers. Again my apologies for the inconveniences that you faced Sincerely

Arrived at this Hotel After travelling from tornoto. Check in very quick and our room was on the third floor..the room was clean and spacious and bed was big and comfy. Staff at this hotel are warm and friendly and a credit to the hotel. The hotel is situated in a central location just off Catherine Street, walking distance to shops, coffee shops, the metro, hop on off bus lots of basciallia's etc. Its a great location The buffet breakfast is super. Fresh hot and lots of options. Dinner at the hotel is also delicious, can recommend the hamburger, chicken wings, fries and soup. I really cannot fault this hotel or the staff. Do check out the little pub opposite the hotel for a drink as well, this was recommend by one of the staff and its lovely. Just a huge massive thankyou to the hotel and its staff. Keep up the fantastic work that you do and I would recommend this hotel and return in a heart beat should we ever come back to Montreal
