I love staying at a Ritz Carlton and this was definitely one of the best. Everything was wonderful -- from the large room to the the posh bathroom to the personalized service. They found out it was our anniversary and we had complimentary champagne and then we came back from dinner to find our room decorated with rose petals and...

It was for a special occasion and all the staff of the hotel made it like it was even more special. It was very personalised, they know it was for our anniversary and they made the bed especially for this occasion. They answered to all my questions very quickly and it was always personalised. Really great!

Stayed at the Ritz Carlton for 2 nights. Were in a standard room with a king bed. Room was very nice and clean. Our room had a view of the terrace with the ducks. Everyone at the hotel was extremely nice and eager to please. The saltwater pool was heated and was very enjoyable. Went up to the pool three...

Old world charm with modern amenities. A wonderful staff educated in old school service. The best soaking tub in an amazing bathroom ... that includes hotels in Tokyo. Maison Boulud is not to be missed for breakfast.

Professional, warm, receptive and knowledgeable staff from the moment you check in... a rare combination these days, even at some purported "5 stars." However, this hotel is TRULY a 5 star experience, Kudos to management for picking such wonderfully courteous people. Located near most areas one would visit, and around the corner from an intimate, somewhat secretive bar that is...

Where do I begin??? From the moment we arrived, we felt that the Ritz lived up to everything they are known for...service, service, service!! Everyone seemed to know our names and were especially kind in helping us celebrate our 30th anniversary. We were more than happy when they were able to upgrade us to a junior suite (our Marriott platinum...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
