Hands down, The Ritz-Carlton Montreal is one of the best hotels my husband and I have ever visited. We stayed only one night in a junior suite but in that one visit we experienced a truly first class hotel. The hotel underwent a major remodel about 3 or 4 years ago and it still looks brand new. The lovely historic...

The Ritz Carlton is a Brand that is defined by luxury, High Service Standards and Amazing everywhere you look around! The Service we received during our stay here was beyond any expectations, the Bellman, the front desk, the Bar, The Housekeeper, the pool attendant, and of course our Concierge Simon. Everyone was beyond expectations and absolute sophistication, and experience that...

I will start this review by saying that myself and my family are High Tea snobs. It has been a tradition for us for decades, and something we look forward to everywhere we go. Since a large portion of my family is based in Montreal, every holiday season the ladies get together for High Tea and the only place we...

Just stayed here on a weekend visit from Ottawa. Everything was as expected; gracious professional staff, warm pool, immaculate well appointed room, etc. All good service wise. The location is excellent for hitting downtown attractions and restaurants - a block away from the museum of art etc. The rooms underwent a high tech renovation from the last visit - lights...

We came to the Ritz after two days inQuebec City. WE were travelling on air miles and had enough for a one night stay at Ritz or two nights at other hotels like Best western. Decided to splurge and treat ourselves and stay at the Ritz. What a great decision. Right away upon arrival the valet parking jumped into service...

I went on a holiday with my adult daughter and we had a fantastic visit. We were treated like royalty Their staff's attention to personal detail is something that I haven't experienced before. For example, I bought rubber duck souvenirs which the staff insisted on gift wrapping! They even wrote the names of the children on each present. The pool...

The BEST hotel in Montreal. The rooms are stunning, the staff professional. The suites are AMAZING. Boulud bar offer the bests cocktails in town. Perfect location, near the boutiques and all the museum. Love it. Always.

We arrived on a rainy Thursday evening and were warmly greeted. Our room was a wonderful Jr Suite. It was beautifully decorated in a contemporary style. We especially enjoyed the size and technology in both the room and bath room. Since we had arrived late, we ate a lite supper in the bar. However for breakfast we ordered room service....

We just enjoyed a perfect few days at the Ritz Carlton Montreal. The facilities are excellent, and the attention to detail and service levels are second to none. This hotel is great either for business or for romantic getaways for couples, and Maison Boulud is our favourite restaurant. Nothing but great things to say...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
